Sumireko Ogawa is the main female protagonist of the Mysterious Disappearances series.

She is a 28-year-old woman who is an aspiring novelist and a big fan of the occult, and she enjoys reading about urban legends. Formerly having won a newcomer's award for a novel she wrote at fifteen years old, Sumireko feels as if she's a failed writer who cannot write as well as she did when she was a teenager and finds herself working at a bookstore with her cunning coworker, Ren Adashino. It's not until she reads a mysterious book that grants her the ability to de-age that she eventually leads her to accompany Ren in discovering and solving paranormal oddities that are occurring in their city.

== Appearance == Sumireko is 28 years old, stands at 5'7'' (170 cm), and weighs 134 lbs (61 kg).

Sumireko is a woman of tall height with a voluptuous body and has brown hair, which is usually tied in a bun but is long when it's let down; she also has brown eyes. She also has I-cup breasts and inverted nipples.

Despite being a main character, she doesn't change outfits that much and is usually seen wearing a Koone Girls Academy uniform or her casual wear: a green jacket, black shirt, blue jeans, and white loafers. While she isn't seen with them outside of her apartment, Sumireko also wears a pair of purple glasses.

== Personality == Sumireko is a generally calm, playful, and smart woman and is kind to those she meets, and is mostly levelheaded, although she often likes to be playful and teasing at times. She is shown to have a great deal of care for others, as she was more than willing to help Ren and his sister, Oto, in uncovering the strange occurrences happening at Koone Girls Academy. Additionally, she had no issue when it came to looking after Oto during Ren’s absence.

== Abilities and Powers ==

• De-aging: After having read the grimoire, specifically the "Elixir of the Moon" poem, Sumireko was cursed with the ability to de-age at will. Initially, the curse took a toll on her body, but she soon came to get used to it to the point she no longer suffers the side effects. Sumireko commonly uses this ability to disguise herself as Wakazukuri by changing her age to that of a teenager, as well as changing into the body of a child when she needs to make a quick getaway. She also uses this form in order to bathe, which not only uses less water but also saves soap as well.
• Healing: Due to the nature of her curse, Sumireko is capable of healing any wounds on her body by reciting a portion of the "Elixir of the Moon" poem. Sumireko refers to it as "immortality" after using the ability to save her life on a few occasions.
