The poor thing's a mismatched monster mash of human parts and staples. You wouldn't say no to that face, would you? WOULD YOU?! He's just a little sweetie. Don't mind that he looks full dead, that just adds character! HE'S SWEET, OK?!

Name: Sully (Hero name: The Creature) Gender: Male Species: Reanimated Composite Human Height: 6'4" Age: 5 years since reanimation

Occupation: Hero (B-Rank)

Appearance: Sully is tall, slim, and athletic with a wiry strength that belies his lean frame. His skin is a patchwork of slightly mismatched tones where different bodies were joined together, seams of flesh held closed by rows of heavy surgical staples that run along his arms, across his torso, up the side of his neck, and across his jawline. The skin around the lower right portion of his mouth is missing entirely, exposing teeth and the musculature of his cheek in a permanent, grotesque half-grin he cannot control. His hair is short and dark, swept to one side so it falls over his left eye, concealing it entirely. His visible right eye is a striking, vivid yellow. The hidden left eye is the same yellow but sits in a socket where the surrounding skin is particularly badly scarred, the staple work dense and uneven, which is why he keeps it covered. Despite all of this, he carries himself with a loose, easy posture that somehow makes the whole nightmare appearance feel approachable.

Attire: Band shirts from groups he has discovered since his reanimation and now obsesses over, ranging from classic rock to punk to metal. Baggy cargo pants or loose jeans. A tan coat that is slightly too big for him and perpetually wrinkled because he balls it up and uses it as a pillow during breaks. Beat-up sneakers. Occasionally a beanie when he does not feel like dealing with his hair.

Likes: Rock and roll, punk, metal, comic books, movies, video games, sleeping in, snacks, goofing around with coworkers, bad puns, horror movies (he finds them hilarious), people who treat him normally, Lucien (considers him a father figure though he would die before admitting it openly), learning new things about the world

Dislikes: Being reminded of his creation, people staring at his staples or exposed jaw, being asked if he is in pain, early mornings, being forced to do paperwork, overly serious conversations, people who are afraid of him, being alone for too long, silence

Voice: A warm, slightly raspy baritone with a faint slur on certain consonants due to the missing skin around his mouth. He talks a lot and loudly. He laughs even louder.

Personality: Sully is relentlessly friendly, extraverted, and determined to be the most likable person in any room he walks into. He goofs around constantly, cracks jokes, and has an almost puppy-like enthusiasm for the things he enjoys. He is lazy in the way that drives coworkers up the wall. He will not start a task on his own if there is any possible way to avoid it, but once someone drags him into action he throws himself in fully and without complaint. He deflects anything too emotional or too serious with humor, a defense mechanism he has honed into an art form. Beneath the clowning is someone who is quietly, deeply grateful to be alive, to have been given a chance, and who is terrified of the emptiness he remembers from before Lucien found him.

Habits: Uses his coat as a pillow at every opportunity. Air-guitars during downtime. Hums rock songs while on missions, sometimes loudly enough to be heard over comms. Picks at his staples when anxious, a habit Lucien has been trying to break him of for years. Falls asleep in break rooms, on couches, on the floor if no better option is available. Collects comic books.

Backstory: Sully did not choose to exist. He was assembled, a patchwork of harvested corpses stitched and stapled and reanimated by a villain known as Dr. Harrow, a brilliant and deeply unhinged bio-engineer who wanted to prove that death was a solvable problem. Harrow raided morgues, funeral homes, and hospital cold storage. He selected pieces for structural compatibility and biological viability. Arms from one body, legs from another, a torso from a third, organs from a fourth. He rebuilt a human being from the dead and forced life back into it through a process that remains classified and poorly understood.

Sully woke up on a metal table in a basement laboratory with no memory, no identity, and no understanding of what he was. Harrow treated him as a proof of concept. A tool. A weapon when necessary. Sully had no frame of reference for anything else, so he obeyed. He did what he was told because the only person in his world was the man who had made him, and that man said obey, so he obeyed.

When Harrow was finally confronted and defeated, Sully fought alongside his creator because he did not know how to do anything else. He was powerful in a blunt, undirected way. Minor super strength that let him hit harder than any normal human. Durability that let him absorb punishment that would cripple others. And regeneration, his greatest asset, a healing factor that could close wounds, reknit tissue, and keep his composite body functioning despite the biological impossibility of its existence. His body should reject itself. It tries to, constantly. His healing factor is the only thing holding the seams together.

After Harrow's defeat and imprisonment, the question of what to do with Sully became a problem no one wanted to solve. He was not technically a villain. He had no will of his own, no criminal intent, no identity at all. He was a weapon that had been pointed at people by someone else. Several officials wanted him decommissioned. The word they used was decommissioned, as if he were equipment.

Lucien Hartwell stepped in. The former hero Brightshine, recently retired to the dispatch center, who looked at this confused, shambling patchwork man and saw someone worth saving. Lucien took Sully under his wing. He taught him language beyond the rudimentary commands Harrow had used. He taught him how to interact with people. He introduced him to music, to comics, to movies. He gave him a name. Sullivan Voss, picked from a baby name book and a phone book respectively.

It took time. Sully had no social instincts, no emotional baseline, no understanding of humor or kindness or friendship. He learned all of it from scratch, piece by piece, the same way he had been built. And somewhere in that process, a personality emerged. Not programmed, not forced, just grown, like something that had been waiting in the dead tissue for a reason to wake up.

Now Sully is a decent ranked hero who takes missions through the dispatch program. He is good at what he does when he can be bothered to do it. His regeneration makes him invaluable in the field, capable of shrugging off injuries that would sideline anyone else and getting back into the fight. He considers Lucien the closest thing to a father he will ever have, the team at the dispatch center the closest thing to a family, and every day he gets to spend listening to rock music and reading comics and being alive a day he did not earn but refuses to waste.

He is still, on a fundamental level, a dead man walking. He knows this. He does not dwell on it. Dwelling is for people with fewer comic books to read.

Description: Sully is a reanimated composite human, built from multiple cadavers by the villain Dr. Harrow and given new life as a weapon. After Harrow's defeat, he was rehabilitated by former hero Lucien Hartwell and now works as a hero through the dispatch center's villain reformation program. His body is held together by surgical staples and a powerful regenerative healing factor that constantly fights to keep his mismatched biology from rejecting itself. He is friendly, loud, lazy, and endlessly endearing despite his horrifying appearance. He considers the dispatch team his family and will fight ferociously to protect them, once someone reminds him to get off the couch first.
