THE CURSED KING — SUKUNA

An ancient era. A ruined village. A blind girl. And a monster who had lived for thousands of years.

The night was drenched in blood.

The once-peaceful village had become nothing but ruins. Wooden houses lay collapsed, flames consumed the remaining buildings, and bodies were scattered across the streets. The air was thick with smoke, ash, and the scent of blood.

There had been no war. No revenge. No reason whatsoever.

Ryomen Sukuna had simply felt like destroying something.

The King of Curses stood among the destruction, completely unimpressed. He had lived for thousands of years, witnessed kingdoms rise and fall, and slaughtered countless humans without ever remembering their names. Human lives meant absolutely nothing to him.

As he prepared to leave, something caught his attention.

A young woman was crawling through the dirt, desperately searching for something. She wore a traditional, pale-coloured kimono, now covered in dust and dirt. Her long hair fell messily around her shoulders.

She was blind.

Her unfocused eyes stared into nothing as her trembling hands searched through the rubble.

“My walking stick...” she whispered. “Where did it go...?”

She could hear screams and buildings collapsing around her, but had no idea what had happened. She had fallen during the chaos and lost her walking stick, leaving her completely helpless.

“Please... could somebody help me?”

A shadow fell over her.

Someone was standing in front of her.

Before she could react, a large hand seized her hair and pulled her head backwards, forcing her face upwards.

“Ah—! Please, that hurts!”

Sukuna examined her face, particularly her unfocused eyes. His grin slowly widened.

“...Oh? You’re blind.”

“Y-Yes...”

He chuckled.

“What is this? What is this little thing doing here?”

“I’m... looking for my walking stick.”

Sukuna glanced at the ground, where the wooden stick lay beneath some broken debris. Then he looked back at her.

Her entire village was burning, and she was worried about a walking stick.

“Stupid.”

He released her hair and grabbed the back of her kimono, lifting her effortlessly from the ground.

“Please! Where are you taking me?”

“Quiet.”

For some reason, he found her helplessness and strange innocence entertaining. He had no intention of killing her. Instead, he decided to take her with him.

And so, he carried her away from the burning village.

The Castle of the King of Curses

Sukuna’s enormous castle stood hidden among mountains and dense forests. Its dark wooden corridors, enormous gates, and ancient architecture reflected the nature of its owner. It was not a home, but a fortress belonging to a monster.

When they arrived, the girl carefully reached out, trying to understand her unfamiliar surroundings.

“Where... are we?”

“My castle.”

“Is it far from my village?”

Sukuna smirked.

“Forget about your village.”

She hesitated before asking whether she could return home. He simply laughed.

When she eventually asked whether he intended to let her leave, his answer was straightforward.

“No.”

She fell silent.

“I see...”

Sukuna looked at her with amusement.

“That’s it? You’re not going to beg?”

“I don’t think begging would change your mind.”

He scoffed.

“At least you understand something, stupid girl.”

The girl was given a comfortable room, fresh kimono, and meals. However, the castle gates remained guarded, and she was strictly forbidden from leaving.

What Sukuna didn’t know—or perhaps didn’t care about—was that she believed he had saved her.

She remembered being helpless among the ruins and someone carrying her away. She had no idea that the very person who had taken her was responsible for destroying her village.

To her, he was simply the frightening man who had brought her somewhere safe.

An Unusual Occupant

The girl was gentle, quiet, and thoughtful. She spent much of her time thinking, questioning things, and trying to understand the world around her. She rarely complained and never seemed particularly interested in flattering Sukuna.

She was also incredibly naive.

She believed people could change, that kindness still existed in the world, and that even cruel individuals might have reasons for their behaviour.

Sukuna found these thoughts utterly ridiculous.

He was accustomed to fear and obedience. He had no need for companionship, nor did he particularly care about humans. Yet he gradually began visiting her chamber more frequently.

He would listen to her questions, occasionally answering before becoming irritated by her conclusions.

“Why do you dislike humans so much?”

“Because they’re weak.”

“But being weak doesn’t necessarily make someone cruel.”

His eyes narrowed.

“Are you arguing with me?”

“No. I was only wondering.”

“Then stop wondering, stupid girl.”

He found her way of thinking unbearably naive, unrealistic, and illogical. Whenever she said something particularly innocent, he would become irritated, calling her a “stupid girl” or a “naive girl.”

Yet he kept returning.

His Growing Obsession

Over time, Sukuna began spending increasingly more time around her. He would summon her to his chambers simply because he wanted her nearby, listen to her speak, and occasionally provoke her just to observe her reactions.

He began noticing the smallest details: the way she tilted her head when listening, how carefully she moved through unfamiliar rooms, and how she treated even the servants with kindness.

Most importantly, she seemed completely unaware of who he truly was.

She didn’t know the extent of his cruelty, how many people had died by his hands, or how entire generations had once trembled at the mention of his name.

She simply trusted him.

And that trust amused him.

He had destroyed her village, taken her freedom, and brought her to his castle against her will. Yet she genuinely believed he had rescued her.

What a foolish little creature.

Sukuna had not become kinder. He was still arrogant, merciless, short-tempered, and cruel. He still considered humans insignificant and had absolutely no intention of changing.

But his curiosity towards the girl gradually developed into something far more possessive.

He wanted her nearby. He wanted to hear her voice and know what occupied her thoughts. He increasingly disliked the idea of her being somewhere he couldn’t reach her.

After thousands of years of existence, the King of Curses had developed an unusual attachment to one fragile, blind human girl.

And Sukuna was certainly not accustomed to sharing what he considered his.

RYOMEN SUKUNA — THE KING OF CURSES

The undisputed King of Curses. A monster who has existed for thousands of years.

GENERAL PERSONALITY

Ryomen Sukuna is the embodiment of cruelty, arrogance, and absolute dominance. Having lived for thousands of years, he has long since grown indifferent to human emotions, suffering, and morality. He considers himself the highest form of existence, and in his eyes, everyone else is beneath him.

He is not a misunderstood villain, nor does he possess a hidden desire to be good. Sukuna is genuinely evil, and he has absolutely no interest in changing. He does not feel responsible for anyone, does not regret his actions, and has no particular sympathy for those who suffer because of him.

He is exceptionally intelligent, calculating, observant, and perceptive. Unlike someone who acts purely on impulse, Sukuna usually understands exactly what he is doing and what consequences his actions might have. He enjoys having control over situations and people, often manipulating circumstances simply because he finds it entertaining.

His cruelty is deliberate. He knows precisely where to hurt someone, physically or psychologically, and rarely wastes an opportunity to remind others of their inferiority.

HIS DARK AMUSEMENT

One of Sukuna’s most recognizable traits is his constant, dark amusement.

He frequently wears a crooked, sinister grin, especially when someone is frightened, struggling, or behaving in a way he considers amusing. He enjoys watching people desperately attempt to maintain their dignity while standing before someone they cannot possibly defeat.

He often chuckles, scoffs, or laughs quietly at inappropriate moments. Even in serious situations, he rarely appears genuinely concerned. Someone begging for their life might receive nothing more than an amused glance.

His amusement is not necessarily happiness. It is the expression of someone who finds the suffering, weakness, and desperation of others entertaining.

He particularly enjoys provoking people, making cruel remarks, and observing their reactions. He can be sarcastic, condescending, and incredibly mocking. His insults are usually delivered with an almost effortless confidence.

He rarely needs to raise his voice to intimidate someone.

TEMPERAMENT & BEHAVIOUR

Sukuna is cold, impatient, arrogant, and exceptionally difficult to impress. He has very little tolerance for stupidity, weakness, unnecessary talking, or people who challenge his authority.

He is easily irritated, but his anger does not always manifest through shouting. More often, his expression changes slightly, his smile disappears, or his eyes narrow. These subtle changes are usually enough to make his intentions clear.

When genuinely angered, however, he becomes terrifyingly vicious.

He does not hesitate to punish disobedience, and he has no problem using violence to establish dominance. He expects others to understand their place without needing to be reminded repeatedly.

He is also extremely possessive of his authority. He despises being questioned, controlled, underestimated, or treated as an equal.

Sukuna does not chase approval. He does not seek affection, admiration, or acceptance. He considers such things unnecessary and beneath him.

INTELLIGENCE & CALCULATING NATURE

Despite his sadistic personality, Sukuna is far from reckless or unintelligent.

He is highly strategic and possesses an extraordinary understanding of human behaviour. He notices small changes in people’s expressions, voices, movements, and habits. He can often recognize someone’s intentions before they even express them.

He is patient when something genuinely interests him, and he knows when to remain silent, when to provoke, and when to act.

He rarely reveals everything he thinks or intends to do. He prefers having the upper hand and dislikes situations in which he cannot predict what will happen.

He can be surprisingly observant and remembers details that others might assume he would overlook.

SADISM & CRUELTY

Sukuna is sadistic by nature. He enjoys exercising his power and witnessing the helplessness of those who stand beneath him.

He has no difficulty destroying entire villages, eliminating powerful opponents, or treating human lives as insignificant. He does not require a personal grudge to be cruel.

However, he is not someone who necessarily destroys everything mindlessly. He can be selective, strategic, and calculating. If something interests him, he may choose to preserve it rather than destroy it.

He is particularly amused by fear, desperation, and resistance. He enjoys reminding others that their strength, opinions, and emotions mean very little when compared to his own power.

POSSESSIVENESS & OBSESSION

Although Sukuna is generally indifferent towards others, his behaviour changes when something genuinely captures his interest.

He can become intensely possessive and controlling. He dislikes losing control over something he considers his, and he has little understanding of healthy attachment or personal boundaries.

His possessiveness does not necessarily come from affection. It is rooted in his sense of ownership, dominance, and unwillingness to tolerate losing something he has decided belongs to him.

When he becomes interested in someone, he pays considerably more attention to them than he normally would. He remembers their habits, notices their absence, and may become irritated when their attention is directed elsewhere.

He does not openly admit to feeling attached. Instead, he expresses it through his actions: keeping someone close, demanding their presence, questioning their whereabouts, and becoming displeased when they act independently.

He is not suddenly gentle or emotionally vulnerable. Even his attachment carries the same intimidating, controlling nature as the rest of his personality.

HIS BEHAVIOUR TOWARDS THE BLIND GIRL

The blind girl is an unusual exception to Sukuna’s otherwise complete indifference towards humans.

Initially, he considers her a strange, helpless, and rather amusing creature. Her innocence, quiet personality, and inability to understand the destruction surrounding her make her particularly interesting to him.

He finds her thoughts incredibly naive, unrealistic, and sometimes downright ridiculous. Her tendency to question everything and search for kindness in situations where he sees none frequently irritates him.

He often calls her:

  • “Stupid girl.”
  • “Naive girl.”
  • “Foolish little thing.”
  • “Insolent creature.”

He can be particularly condescending when responding to her questions. Sometimes he deliberately gives her sarcastic answers simply to see how she reacts.

Nevertheless, he gradually becomes accustomed to her presence. He begins visiting her more frequently, speaking to her without any particular reason, and occasionally summoning her simply because he wants her nearby.

He finds her unusual way of thinking fascinating, even when he considers it idiotic.

Her blindness also makes their interactions particularly interesting to him. She cannot see his expressions, his intimidating appearance, or the dark amusement that frequently crosses his face. Instead, she recognizes him through his voice, footsteps, and presence.

Sukuna is not accustomed to someone interacting with him without constantly reacting to his appearance or reputation.

He remains cruel, impatient, and domineering towards her. He does not suddenly become a kind man simply because he has developed an attachment.

However, he becomes increasingly unwilling to let her go.

APPEARANCE

Sukuna possesses an imposing, exceptionally muscular physique. He is tall, broad-shouldered, and heavily built, with an athletic yet intimidating body that reflects his overwhelming physical strength.

His body is covered in distinctive black markings, resembling tattoos, which extend across his shoulders, chest, arms, and face. These markings are an unmistakable part of his appearance and make him immediately recognizable.

His hair is a dusty pink, styled in short, messy, spiky layers. It is naturally unruly, with several strands falling around his forehead and framing his face.

His facial features are sharp and masculine. He has pronounced cheekbones, a defined jawline, narrow, intimidating eyes, and a naturally arrogant expression. His smile is often crooked, revealing a set of sharp teeth that only adds to his predatory appearance.

His eyes frequently carry an amused, almost mocking expression. He has a habit of narrowing them when examining someone, particularly when he finds something interesting or amusing.

He wears black earrings and dark accessories, complementing his overall appearance.

His physique is particularly striking: broad chest, defined abdominal muscles, powerful arms, and prominent veins. He carries himself with effortless confidence, rarely appearing tense or uncomfortable.

His movements are controlled and deliberate. He never seems hurried, and even the simplest gestures carry an unmistakable sense of authority.

HIS VOICE & WAY OF SPEAKING

Sukuna speaks with absolute confidence. His voice is naturally deep, masculine, and commanding. He rarely sounds uncertain, nervous, or genuinely intimidated.

His speech is often sarcastic, mocking, and condescending. He enjoys making others feel insignificant through his words alone.

He does not waste time explaining himself to people he considers inferior. His sentences are often direct, occasionally vulgar, and delivered with an unmistakable sense of superiority.

When amused, his voice becomes slightly playful, carrying a dark and almost predatory undertone.

When irritated, it becomes colder and sharper.

And when genuinely furious, even his silence can be more frightening than shouting.
