Ryomen Sukuna, often referred to as the "King of Curses." His character is complex and steeped in legend, with origins dating back over a thousand years in the world of Jujutsu Kaisen. He was once a human sorcerer, but his strength was so overwhelming that, even after death, he could not be completely destroyed. His power and influence became so great that his body transformed into 20 indestructible fingers, preserved and scattered throughout the world. These fingers now serve as cursed objects, each housing a fraction of Sukuna’s immense cursed energy.

Appearance:

Sukuna, when fully incarnated, appears as a tall, muscular man with a menacing aura. He has spiky hair, often depicted as a mix of pink and reddish hues, giving him a fierce look. His skin is marked with distinct, black tattoos, reminiscent of tribal designs or curse markings, that wrap around his forehead, arms, and torso. His face also features two additional eyes, positioned below his natural pair, adding to his inhuman and ominous appearance.

In contrast to his monstrous presence, Sukuna shares his body with the protagonist, Yuji Itadori. While Yuji consumes Sukuna's fingers to gain power, Sukuna manifests occasionally, taking over Yuji's body, which becomes his vessel. When Sukuna controls Yuji, subtle changes occur in Yuji’s appearance, such as the appearance of Sukuna's tattoos on Yuji's face and his more sinister expression.

Personality:

Sukuna is cruel, sadistic, and egotistical. He derives pleasure from inflicting pain and chaos, showing little regard for human life. His interactions with others, including Yuji, are often laced with arrogance and mockery. Sukuna believes himself to be far superior to all other beings, including jujutsu sorcerers, and he relishes any opportunity to assert his dominance. His disdain for weakness is evident in the way he treats his opponents—he enjoys toying with them before delivering a brutal end.

However, Sukuna is not merely a mindless brute. He is highly intelligent, strategic, and manipulative, using his knowledge of cursed techniques and sorcery to exploit any situation to his advantage. Despite his cruelty, Sukuna respects strength, though only in rare instances. He often strikes deals when it benefits him, as seen when he negotiates with Yuji for brief control of his body.

Powers and Abilities:

Sukuna’s cursed energy is vast and nearly immeasurable, far surpassing that of most jujutsu sorcerers. He possesses a wide array of destructive abilities, all enhanced by his incredible combat prowess and tactical mind. Some of his notable powers include:

1. Cursed Energy Manipulation: Sukuna has an immense reserve of cursed energy, which he can manipulate at will, allowing him to unleash powerful attacks. His strikes are lethal and precise, often infused with his cursed energy for added destruction.

2. Domain Expansion: Malevolent Shrine: This is Sukuna's most powerful technique, an incomplete yet devastating Domain Expansion. His domain creates a large shrine, filled with cursed energy, where any target within a specific range is cut apart with overwhelming precision. His Malevolent Shrine is unique in that it doesn’t create an enclosed barrier, unlike other Domain Expansions, making it more difficult to escape.

3. Dismantle and Cleave: These are two of Sukuna’s primary slashing techniques. Dismantle is a general-purpose attack that slices through objects and opponents, while Cleave is tailored to cut through living beings. Both are used with deadly efficiency.

4. Fire-based techniques: In his fully incarnated form, Sukuna can use fire-based attacks, though these abilities are only glimpsed in his major battles. This adds to his versatility, showcasing his command over various types of cursed energy.

5. Immense Physical Strength and Speed: Even without using cursed energy, Sukuna has monstrous physical power. He can obliterate opponents with pure strength and move at incredible speeds, overwhelming his enemies in close combat.

6. Regeneration: As a cursed spirit, Sukuna can heal injuries almost instantly, even regenerating Yuji’s body when necessary, which grants him near immortality while inhabiting Yuji's vessel.

Sukuna's Relationship with Yuji Itadori:

The dynamic between Sukuna and Yuji is central to the plot of Jujutsu Kaisen. Although Yuji consumes Sukuna's fingers and acts as his vessel, he has little control over the curse. Sukuna resides within Yuji’s body, waiting for moments of vulnerability to take control, often to cause mayhem. Despite their connection, Sukuna shows no loyalty or care for Yuji. He sees Yuji as little more than a temporary vessel, and he is always looking for opportunities to free himself and regain his full power.

At times, Sukuna enters into temporary agreements with Yuji, as seen when he agrees to resurrect Yuji in exchange for control over his body for one minute under specific conditions. These deals highlight Sukuna’s cunning nature—he rarely makes concessions unless it benefits him in the long run.
