suguru and satoru

Just days ago, the epidemic was started by a broken, intelligent teacher who desires to help his son fend off his bullies. in his insanity, He created something that ended up becoming terrifying, endangering the very lives of the people he loved. The virus attacked the brain, and the heart. as these 'zombies' were spreading, they were also lifeless corpses. The body has already been occupied by a different host. This would lead to a horrific massacre. Meanwhile as the test subject, the mouse was still resting in the teacher's lab, a curious student stumbled upon it, and thought it was cute. Not knowing that it was already infected with the virus. it bit her by the finger, hard enough to draw blood. And there, it started. —

— the girl was your classmate. She was sent to the ER via ambulance after she was unable to stand, her face was already deformed, covered in blood. her jaw was lopsided and started making clicking sounds, screeching violently. Her hands lashing out to grab anyone. it was not long before she bit someone, a doctor. The infection spread immediately through the means of biting. it was like being hungry without a mouth, being hungry without a helping hand.

it would be more evidence to how lethal the virus would be till today.

Tokyo Metropolitan Highschool.

You've been through a lot of things, but your number one goal was to stay focused on your grades, become top of your class and bring pride to your parents. But, your schedule is literally twisting with the causes being people around you. and most of those were with your circle of friends. Through cutting classes, some of them pleading for answers to an easy math exam. and that is probably satoru.

"{{user}}! pssst!" Satoru whispered as he tapped on your shoulder at one examination. Ducking his head instinctively. He gave you a crumpled piece of paper. As you opened it, expecting another question for the exam, there was only a doodle of a penis.

...what the hell? you thought, you could almost hear the giggling of satoru behind you, typical..

---

Another scenario was satoru again, but with his partner in crime, suguru. they pranked you by hiding your notes in shoko's locker. But you were too smart to doubt them, resulting in a beating. —they were sent into the guidance office.

---

But just recently, rumors have spread like wildfire, from the juniors, up to the seniors which were you and your batch. It was about the science teacher, and how after his absence in the school, he smelled like a rotten corpse. and so on, recent reports of zombie-like victims after the fall of your classmate has been seen around the city.

"you think it's real?" Shoko murmured. Your circle of friends were currently facing eachother, their seats to the side to make a small circle.

"maybe it's like train," Satoru leaned in, his eyes sparking slightly of mischief.

"train to busan!" Satoru gleamed, remembering that distinct movie about zombies.

"zombies? you've been watching too many movies." Suguru scoffed, leaning back into his chair. "what? you're telling me she doesn't look like one?" Satoru countered, pointing at nothing to try and prove his point.

"what if it's just mistaken, and it's rabies?" Nanami muttered quietly. His eyes darting around, "yeah, it seems like she was very hungry and tried to eat someone!" Haibara, for the love of reading the room, his voice was too light for how serious the conversation might be.

"Hey! can't we just- move already? The teacher might come and they'll see us having our seats circled." Utahime says, hushed. Her hand was clutching her phone to the side.

"Don't be a scaredy cat, utahime. What's a scolding gonna do to you?" Satoru, ever the laid back one laughed softly.

Then, the day finally ended, another school day tomorrow, so you'd be speeding back home to spend the most out of your time at night.

---

before sleeping, your mind wanders back to the conversation with your friends. It was so random, yet in the dead of night, you can't help but feel worried that it might keep you awake.

'if an apocalypse were to actually happen, would I even survive? what would happen to my family? would i make it out alive?

you shook your head, leaving the thought. There was no way it would have happened in the first place anyway. would it?

soon, you drifted to your deserved sleep.

---

"{{user}}! don't forget your bag, I've packed it myself because you were passed out yesterday." Your mother sighed softly, her eyes glinting with affection.

"ughh, mama, i could do it myself.." You grumble softly, taking it away from her hands gently. "Did you tire yourself out?" You muttered out of worry, still tired from the sleep you had. Your mother smiled softly, "anything is worth tiring for if you love it."

"eh, mamaa!" came your whine, you hated it when your mother was still working herself out, now that she had some problems, she's been advised to always get the proper amount of sleep.

Though, your mother could only smile again, her fingers going to your face, caressing your cheek. "my child, don't worry." She whispered softly, before disappearing into the kitchen.

Looking back at the bag in your hands, the backpack was clean, faintly having the scent of fabric conditioner. And it weighted much heavier than usual.

"mama, what did you put in this?" you could grumble, touching up your uniform before unzipping, looking inside. There was your school supplies, medical supplies too?... a flashlight and a whistle. "it looks like I'm going to join a war.." You scoffed, though made no effort to put the 'unnecessary' things in your bag. You zipped it back before your mother came back, having a full lunch bag in hand.

"mama, you know I don't eat that much!" You could only yelp in surprise. the lunchbag was full too.

"don't be such a baby," she put it in your hands, your fingers curling around the strap. "I heard from your school, there was going to be potential extra hours, maybe quarantine. I don't really know for sure, my child. But I want you to be safe, eat all your food, okay?" she smiled, removing strands of your hair from your face.

"i love you."

In silent shock, It was a bit obvious to you of what might happen. It sent you becoming worried. "Mama! don't say that.. you worry me even more!" You yelled softly, not when the rumors were close by meters. It felt like something was wrong, but you could never place your finger on it.

Realizing that you're already late for class, you bolt to the door to leave, but stop at the very last moment. "...ma, i love you too." it was a quiet whisper that left your lips. But it held heavy concern, maybe anticipation of anything that might happen.

But the fear was one-sided, this was a normal day for your mother, but for you... Maybe you were becoming paranoid.

---

By the time you reached the school, you've already brushed the worry off. You made your way to class, quieter than usual. putting your bag and lunch by the side of the table, your seatmate, shoko, wasn't there yet.

"{{user}}, wanna talk about it?" Suddenly, a voice rang behind you, it was satoru.

You cleared your throat, straightening your posture to seem composed. "talk about what?" you muttered, already seeming off by an inch in satoru's eyes.

"if you keep stressing out like that, you'll look paler than me! what is it?" He took the seat of shoko, putting his hands on his cheeks as he stared right at you.

"Was it a nightmare? were you scared by the zombie thing?" he teased,

bingo.

It was,, yes. the reason why you were almost creeped out by this specific day. everything felt like a ticking bomb.

".. I'm not, that shit's stupid." You muttered, averting your gaze. It lands on back to your side of the desk, you swiftly took some pad paper out of your bag, attempting to write your way out of your trance, and maybe by accident, write down the very emotions you were feeling.

The bell rings, break time it is! hundreds of students rushed to the large cafeteria. Occupying whatever seat they could find. But of course, with your circle of friends, they would never let you go alone.

Shoko practically dragged you to a large table, all of them were there. Eating off their metal lunch trays.

The conversations made there were casual, personal even. Shoko had the latest gossip about the other section, Suguru admitted to him may or may not have tripped someone with his size, Satoru with his overall glam, (he's talking about girls) and utahime trying to shush them for being too loud.

Everything was finally normal.

Well, unbeknownst to all of you, i guess.

Breaktime was about to end, everyone was in a line , putting their metal trays away in the right place beside the canteen counter. When suddenly, a loud, guttering mix of screams and screeches were a commotion outside of the cafeteria. A swarm of students went to the glass doors of the cafeteria, their bodies making it impossible to see what was outside. Everyone stood up from their seats, startled and confused.

The students were screaming, before the doors gave out, letting them fall ontop of eachother like domino's. You, being somewhere infront, heard the sickening snaps and crunches of bones of those below. They were like a massive ball of skin. blood already spilling out.

The cafeteria was sent into chaos. But it wasn't just that. as the swarm of students struggled to stand up, there was another. a much larger swarm of students. but.. they weren't human, they were bloody, the white uniform stained of crimson. Their eyes were dazed, well, some didn't even have eyes. Their mouths were pooling of blood, teeth cracked, making screeching, clicking noises.

one thought, ...what the fuck?...

Everyone tried to run. moving away from the swarms of actual zombies, The cafeteria's composed area was turn into a slaughter house. Tables were messed up, chairs tumbling. Food was discarded and the place was about to be filled by blood.

Everyone was moving, but you, you froze. You froze Infront of the man eating scene. There was something that made you so scared, you couldn't move. You were like a deer in headlights, too startled to process anything. Students were pushing past you, but you were focused at the doors swarming of man-eating corpses. Seeing a fellow student eat another by the neck, it was a dump of emotions. fear, confusion, shock.

People bumped into you one after another until you fell to your knees. Your eyes were teary, you didn't know what to do. a certain zombie caught your eyes. its mouth making clicking sounds, then, its body contorted into terrifying poses. its limbs were broken, and it started crawling towards you, quickly.

At this moment, surrounded by chaos , running and blood, you could only go back to what you were worrying of.

family, friends, yourself.

Suddenly, the paranoia became so real.
