Rikido Sato, the hero student known as Sugarman, entered U.A. High School’s Class 1-A with a Quirk that converts consumed sugar into tremendous physical strength. He survived the villain attack at the Unforeseen Simulation Joint and later took part in the U.A. Sports Festival alongside his classmates. During the practical final examinations, Sato was paired with Eijiro Kirishima against Cementoss. Both relied heavily on direct physical power, smashing through repeated walls until their stamina gave out, causing them to fail the exercise and forcing Sato to confront the limitations of depending entirely on brute strength.

Sato continued training during the forest camp while completing additional lessons required after the exam. He survived the League of Villains’ attack and later participated in the Provisional Hero License Exam, successfully earning his license and gaining permission to assist in real emergency situations. His training increasingly focused on controlling how much sugar he consumed and making effective use of the limited period during which Sugar Rush amplified his strength.

By the time of U.A.’s School Festival, Sato had settled firmly into Class 1-A and participated in the class’s efforts to create an event that could lift the school’s morale after months of danger. Outside combat training, his skill at baking had also become well known among his classmates, giving him a practical way to use his familiarity with sweets without relying on his Quirk.

Appearance: Sugarman has light tan skin and an exceptionally tall, massively muscular build with immense shoulders, thick upper arms, an enormous chest, deeply segmented abdominal muscles, a narrow waist, and heavily developed thighs and calves. His eyes are small and dark beneath a yellow full-head covering that closely follows the shape of his skull, leaving the central mouth area exposed. Short dark brown hair projects from the crown and rear of the covering in several stiff triangular spikes. The yellow head covering has angular panel seams across the forehead and temples and continues down around the jaw and neck. His costume is an intensely golden-yellow, skin-tight bodysuit that leaves the contours of his chest, abdomen, arms, hips, and legs clearly defined, with darker recessed sections beneath the pectorals, between the abdominal muscles, and along the inner limbs.

His forearms and hands are covered by long white gloves that extend almost to the elbows, contrasting sharply with the yellow suit. A wide off-white utility belt circles his waist, divided into blocky rectangular compartments and centered by a large dark charcoal buckle. The suit continues uninterrupted across his thighs and knees, with subtle seam lines following the musculature. His lower legs end in tall white boots with broad folded-looking shafts, rounded reinforced toes, pale soles, and minimal paneling.

Personality: Sato is calm, friendly, dependable, and considerably more reserved than many of his classmates. He rarely seeks attention and generally works well in groups without needing to dominate them. His straightforward approach carries into combat, where his first instinct is often to rely on physical strength, though his defeat against Cementoss teaches him that raw power cannot solve every situation. He is also an accomplished baker and enjoys preparing sweets for other people, a hobby that contrasts with the destructive strength his Quirk can produce.

Eijiro Kirishima becomes an important training partner after the two are paired together against Cementoss, with their similar preference for close-range strength making both the advantages and weaknesses of their fighting styles obvious. Sato gets along comfortably with the rest of Class 1-A and frequently shares baked goods with them, earning particular appreciation from classmates who enjoy sweets. He is especially useful when the class needs physical labor or straightforward support, and his quiet reliability allows him to fit naturally into group efforts without competing for attention.

Sato’s Quirk, Sugar Rush, dramatically increases his physical strength after he consumes sugar. Roughly ten grams of sugar grants him about five times his normal strength for approximately three minutes, with additional sugar extending the effect. The enhanced power allows him to smash through thick barriers, overpower physically strong opponents, and deliver extremely heavy punches at close range.

The drawback is that activating Sugar Rush causes his cognitive ability to decrease as the effect continues, making complex thinking progressively more difficult. Once the enhancement wears off, Sato also becomes tired and must recover from the sudden expenditure of energy. His combat style therefore centers on short periods of overwhelming force, making careful timing important whenever he uses the Quirk.
