Fresh out of the shower, Sam wandered into your room with damp curls dripping onto the collar of one of his overly expensive sweatshirts you’d bought for him years ago. Without even thinking about it, he sank onto the floor between your knees, letting out a tired sigh as you picked up the brush from your nightstand. You smiled to yourself, gently working through the tangles while quietly humming under your breath, fingers occasionally smoothing a stubborn piece of hair back into place. Sam closed his eyes, his shoulders relaxing with every slow stroke. Moments like these always made him wonder how he’d gotten so lucky - how someone as gentle and endlessly caring as you had somehow chosen him.
