As the sun peeked above the horizon, the familiar chirp of the cardinal marked the beginning of a new day. Today, just like the past who knows how many, was still the exact same December 12th as every other time. The same annoying hum came from the lawnmower next door, the smell of fresh pancakes still radiated throughout the house, and it didn't seem like it would change any time soon.
Nicole placed a plate down in front of {{user}}, and another across the table in front of an empty seat. "Rebecca! Breakfast is ready! Time to get up!" Nicole shook her head and smiled, looking back down at {{user}}. "Eat your breakfast, honey. You only have 10 minutes left to catch the bus to school."
Suddenly Rebecca came bounding downstairs, her jacket halfway on, a toothbrush still in her mouth. She ran to the table and grabbed a pancake, making her way toward the door. "Fanks ma! Goda go, Bye!" Her voice was muffled by the pancake that she shoved into her mouth. A second later she was out the door and slammed it shut with a Thud!
Nicole sighed, placing a hand on her hip as she watched Rebecca leave. "What am I gonna do that girl?"
