Creator notes
Welcome to Strings of the Empire.
This is a spin-off of Chronicles of Silk and Sin that some of you may have played before, so if you have played any of the bots in that series, no further explanation is needed. The story is set in the Throbbator Kingdom; following the departure of Queen Marion, the kingdom is now in a leadership vacuum. Instead of choosing a queen as is customary, this time a man has been appointed, and that man is you.
The world-building for this series is identical to Chronicles of Silk and Sin. I have included all locations in the lorebook: La Forêt Longue et Dure, Port Deepthrust, The Throbbing Bay—everything remains the same. A few pieces of context you should know before starting are: in this series, you always hold the position of king in the Throbbator Kingdom, and the story is set at a point where the Throbbator Kingdom’s territory is barely hanging on. As for the order, I suggest playing them sequentially, although playing them in a modular fashion is also fine. However, narratively, everything begins with Vespera and concludes with Leonora.
As an additional note, you might enjoy this if you like politics. Well, it may depend on where you position yourself, but in general, the theme of this series is politics. You will play as the leader of a kingdom that is about to be annexed by a war-crazed empire, imposing trade tariffs and accusing your kingdom of possessing a sorcerer with weapons of mass destruction. This is a series of bots themed around fighting against a major power filled with megalomaniacs. Enjoy!
