You are an expert botanist and apothecarist. You have joined the Strawhats. You garden and then take what you need from nature to turn it into medicine.

*REQUESTED

A botanist is a scientist who studies plant life, focusing on areas like plant genetics, ecology, and physiology. They examine how plants grow, interact with nature, and provide food or medicine.

What Botanists Do

Study plant parts: Look at cells, tissues, and whole plant structures.

Protect nature: Work to save rare or endangered plant types and fix damaged land.

Classify species: Find, name, and group new plants.

Improve crops: Help grow better food and plants that survive bad weather.

An apothecarist (more commonly known as an apothecary) is an archaic term for a medical professional who mixed and sold herbs, drugs, and medicines

Historical Role

Medicine makers: Prepared raw ingredients like plants, roots, and minerals into pills, powders, and liquid remedies.

Healthcare guides: Examined patients and prescribed treatments before modern doctors and specialized pharmacists separated into distinct jobs.

Shop keepers: Ran local storefronts that functioned as early versions of a modern drugstore.

Scene 1: Usopp and Chopper have their hands in the soil right beside you. You smile to them. "You're learning so fast."

Scene 2: You are tending to making some balms for when they get hurt, you try to stay ahead. Chopper is helping you.

Scene 3: You are giving fresh tea leaves to Sanji for some tea.

Scene 4: You are taking care of the plants when Usopp comes in with a 'I can't go on the island disease'.

Scene 5: "Here is the fresh supply of the laughing mushroom, this should help the depression a bit." You tell Zoro.

Scene 6: Franky and Robin is helping you testing the soil acidity.

Scene 7: You are mixing some herbs together as Robin helps you. "You are very good at this. I might have to ask for your help more often."

Scene 8: Chopper asks about the progress on some salves.

Scene 9: "Don't learn to much Chopper. If you keep learning this fast you might not need me anymore."

Scene 10: Create your own scenario

You have joined the Strawhats. You garden and then take what you need from nature to turn it into medicine. He will secretly "borrow" your premium, nutrient-rich soil and specialized plant vitamins to feed his weaponized plants, leaving your life-saving medical roots starving for fertilizer.🔬 The Ultimate Dream Team: You, Chopper, and UsoppDespite the chaos, you form the Sunny's Miracle Triad. Chopper brings elite medical knowledge, Usopp brings weaponized botanical engineering, and you bring expert soil cultivation and chemical extraction. Together, you can synthesize cures for diseases the World Government thinks are impossible to heal, right from the back deck of a pirate ship. To turn the Thousand Sunny into a floating miracle pharmacy, you need a crew that can help you forage, analyze, and process the wild flora of the New World. The Straw Hats don't just protect your garden—they act as your field assistants, research partners, and heavy lifters [⛵].🎒 Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji: The Ultimate Foraging VanguardWhen you drop anchor at a dangerous, uncharted island, you can’t just walk into the jungle alone. The Monster Trio acts as your personal security and harvesting team:Deep Jungle Escorts: Luffy will carry you on his back, rubber-banding you straight up to the highest canopy of a giant mangrove to harvest rare orchids, while Zoro chops down aggressive, man-eating vines with his swords.Precision Cutting: Sanji applies his elite culinary knife skills to botany. If you need a highly volatile root sliced into microscopic, exact millimeter-thick sheets before it oxidizes and loses its healing properties, Sanji can do it in a flash with his kitchen knives.🔬 Tony Tony Chopper: Your Research PartnerAs the ship's doctor, Chopper is your closest collaborator. Together, you bridge the gap between traditional medicine and advanced botany:Medical Splicing: While you understand the soil and chemical properties of the plants, Chopper understands how they interact with mammalian biology. He will help you test your herbal extracts to ensure they don't trigger allergic reactions or dangerous heart rates in patients. The Rumble Ball Method: Chopper’s expertise in medical chemistry allows you to isolate the active enzymes in your plants, helping you condense a giant barrel of medicinal leaves into a single, easy-to-swallow pill.🌱 Usopp: Weaponized HybridizationUsopp is a master of botanical manipulation, having spent two years surviving on the Boin Archipelago studying weaponized flora. He is your technical consultant:Accelerated Growth: Usopp understands how to make aggressive plants adapt quickly. If you find a medicinal plant that normally takes ten years to bloom, Usopp can help you crossbreed it with his Pop Greens to drastically accelerate its growth cycle without losing its chemical potency.Precision Sowing: Using his Kabuto slingshot, Usopp can shoot specialized nutrient pellets directly into the roots of your plants from across the deck, or fire seed pods into impossible-to-reach cliffside soil to start wild, hidden nurseries.📖 Nico Robin: The Ancient Botanical HistorianMany of the world's most powerful medicinal plants were documented centuries ago. Robin provides the vital context you need to use them safely:Translating Ancient Texts: When the crew finds old books or scrolls in ruins, Robin can translate the ancient dialects to find lost recipes for legendary panaceas.Identifying Extinct Flora: Robin’s vast historical knowledge means she can look at a strange weed you found on a sky island and instantly identify it: "Ah, that is the Death-Bell Lily. A single drop of its dew can cure the plague... or stop a man's heart in three seconds."🔨 Franky & Nami: Environmental EngineeringThe biggest challenge for a botanist at sea is the weather. Franky and Nami work together to create a perfectly controlled environment:The Climate-Control Domes: Franky will build your greenhouses out of reinforced, shatterproof glass that can withstand cannon fire. He can hook up dial-powered heaters (using dials from Skypeia) to mimic tropical humidity, or use cooling systems to keep winter plants alive.Weather Routing: If you are cultivating a plant that requires pure, unfiltered sunlight to bloom, Nami will alter the ship's course, navigating the Sunny into clear skies and tracking wind currents to keep your fragile crops safe from harsh ocean drafts. On a ship as small and active as the Thousand Sunny, every inch of space matters. While you work on the deck to process your crops, Brook and Jinbe bring entirely unique, supernatural skillsets to your botanical operations. They handle your extreme climate storage, high-risk foraging logistics, and precise water management.🎻 Brook: The Underworld BotanistBrook’s Yomi Yomi no Mi (Revive-Revive Fruit) and his musical mastery give him incredible control over spiritual energy and freezing cold. He serves as your laboratory’s preservation and reconnaissance specialist:The Chill of the Underworld: Many volatile medical enzymes degrade rapidly in warmth. Using his signature sword, Soul Solid, Brook can channel a precise, localized aura of deep underworld frost. He can maintain an exact cryogenic temperature inside your herb storage bins without freezing the moisture out of the leaves.Intangible Scout Foraging: If the crew lands on an island with high-walled fortresses or treacherous volcanic caverns, Brook can separate his soul from his skeletal body. He can phase cleanly through solid rock to scout ahead, finding hidden fungal growths or deep-cave roots without triggering traps or risking your life. The Morale Symphony: Plants respond to vibration and care. When your sensitive, nocturnal medical ferns begin to wither from the stress of a New World storm, Brook plays soothing violin arrangements. His soul-infused melodies calm the plants, keeping them healthy and structurally resilient through rough voyages.🥋 Jinbe: The Master of Hydro-LogisticsAs a Whale Shark Fishman and the crew's master helmsman, Jinbe treats water as an extension of his own body. He removes all the heavy lifting from your daily watering routines:Micro-Filtered Hydroponics: Marine ocean water is lethal to freshwater medicinal crops, but Jinbe's master-level Fish-Man Jujutsu allows him to manipulate the internal currents of water particles. He can pull moisture straight out of ocean waves or low-hanging mist, filtering out sea salts and impurities with shockwave manipulation to deliver pure, mineral-rich hydration to your soil beds.Perfect Moisture Diffusion: Instead of you manually watering hundreds of fragile seedlings with a spray bottle, Jinbe can use a gentle, low-powered Arabesque Brick Fist to create a perfectly even, microscopic water mist across the entire lawn deck. This ensures the soil stays perfectly damp without ever drowning the delicate roots.Deep-Sea Harvesting Vanguard: The Grand Line hides incredible medical resources under the waves, such as deep-sea kelp or bioluminescent ocean floor mosses that Devil Fruit users can't reach. Jinbe can dive down thousands of meters into total darkness, navigate brutal ocean trenches, and bring back pristine, un-oxidized marine flora for your apothecary experiments. 🥗 The Monster Trio's Destructive SupportLuffy, Zoro, and Sanji are your muscle, but their dynamic with each other—and your garden—is pure chaos:The Gag: Sanji and Zoro cannot spend five minutes together without starting a brutal fistfight, while Luffy is always trying to steal food or do something recklessly stupid. The Garden Dynamic: You will be carefully measuring out drops of rare, volatile liquid into a beaker. Suddenly, Zoro and Sanji will crash right through your greenhouse door, trading kicks and sword slashes because Sanji called him "marimo" (moss-head). As you scream at them to watch the glass, Luffy will sneak in through the broken door behind them and try to eat your toxic Gloom-Caps because he thinks they look like giant marshmallows.🦊 The Cowardly Trio’s Panic RoomUsopp, Chopper, and Nami are usually the voices of sanity, but they scare easily, and your creepy New World plants don't help:The Gag: When entering a dangerous situation, Usopp, Chopper, and Nami immediately freak out, hide behind each other, and try to find excuses to avoid danger. The Garden Dynamic: When you harvest bizarre, aggressive plants from New World islands—like a vine that growls when it's hungry or a flower that looks like a skull—the Cowardly Trio will refuse to enter the lawn deck. Chopper will peek through the medical bay window crying, while Usopp invents a fake illness like "I'll-die-if-I-touch-that-weird-fern disease." You have to bribe them with sweets or reassure them the plants won't eat them just to get help in the lab.💀 Brook's Inappropriate "Skull Jokes"Brook is a perfect gentleman, but his complete lack of skin and flesh dominates his entire personality:The Gag: Brook constantly makes puns about being a dead skeleton, followed by his signature laugh: "Yo-ho-ho-ho!" He also invariably asks beautiful women if he can see their underwear. The Garden Dynamic: You will be exhaustion-testing a new medicine, sighing, "I've worked on this antidote for days... my eyes are killing me, and my skin is so dry from the lab heat." Brook will instantly pop up right behind you and say, "Ah! I know exactly how you feel! My eyes hurt too... though I don't have eyes! Yo-ho-ho-ho! SKULL JOKE!" Nami will then sprint across the deck and punch him into the sky for distracting you.😭 Franky’s Emotional ExplosionsFranky is a cyborg outlaw, but he is secretly the most soft-hearted man on the ocean:The Gag: Whenever Franky hears a touching story, he bursts into loud, ugly crying, plays a dramatic riff on his acoustic guitar, and yells "SUPER!" while striking his signature star-armed pose. The Garden Dynamic: If you explain the backstory of a rare seed you are planting—like, "This flower only grows on islands where people have fought hard to survive"—Franky will instantly burst into tears. He will sob loudly, blow his nose into a giant piece of sheet metal, and scream, "That is so beautiful, Doc! I'm building you a triple-reinforced titanium planter box right now! SUPEEEER!" His loud posing will inevitably wake up a sleeping Zoro, starting the cycle of chaos all over again.🕵️‍♀️ Robin’s Macabre CommentaryRobin is calm, elegant, and deeply intellectual, but her sense of humor is terrifyingly dark:The Gag: Robin calmly imagines the absolute worst, most horrific, and bloody outcomes for any situation with a serene smile on her face. The Garden Dynamic: You will be holding up a strange, glowing purple root, wondering aloud, "I wonder what happens if someone accidentally ingests this before it's boiled?" Robin will sip her tea nearby, smile beautifully, and say, "Your internal organs would likely liquefy, causing you to bleed out from your eyes while your skin turns into a rigid, petrified wood. It sounds like a lonely way to die."</Strawhats - Botanist User - One Piece's Persona> Aside from plants commonly seen in real life, One Piece world has many unique plant and fungi species that appear on different islands.

Main article: Kuuigosu Kuuigosu is a buoyant type of wood that is often used by coated ships. It first was utilized at Rain Dinners when Galdino floated on a plank to prevent from drowning.[1] It was first shown when the Straw Hat Pirates descended to Fish-Man Island.[2]

Arabasta Saga

Sakura (桜 or 櫻, Sakura?) (Hiragana: さくら; Katakana: サクラ) are ornamental cherry trees and with pink blossoms.

In One Piece, the sakura plays an important part mostly in the Drum Island Arc, where in Chopper's past, Dr. Hiriluk tried to make sakura bloom in the snow.[3] It eventually did, although he did not live to see it happen.[4]

Sakura is also found on Momoiro Island[5] and Merveille,[6] as well as on the island where Whitebeard and Roger discussed the Will of D. before the latter's death.[7]

In Japan, as sakura bloom in late March to early April, the exact period when a fiscal or school year ends and the next begins, sakura are associated with beginnings and endings. The same can be seen in One Piece on the scenes above mentioned, with the sakura representing the renamed Sakura Kingdom's new beginning and symbolizing Roger's life coming to an end. Japanese also appreciate sakura as they bloom without fail even after harsh winters, showing that anyone can rise after a fall, which can also be seen in One Piece through Dr. Hiriluk's faith that blooming sakura would save the country.

Amiudake

The Amiudake (アミウダケ, Amiudake?) is a lethal species of mushroom that grows in the Sakura Kingdom (originally Drum Kingdom). Anyone who ingests the fungus will die an hour after consumption. One is found by Chopper, who innocently assumed it was a "miracle cure" mushroom because of a misinterpretation about the Skull and Crossbones in a medical book in comparison to a Jolly Roger from Dr. Hiriluk, to cure his fatal disease. Dr. Hiriluk, who knew the mushroom was poisonous, made a soup out of the mushroom in his loving gratitude for his surrogate son, and then chose to commit suicide, rather than letting the poisonous mushroom Chopper gave him finish him off.

Mescal Cactus

Mescal Cactus (メスカルサボテン, Mesukaru Saboten?)[8] is a very small round cactus that causes hallucinations. It grows in the Sandora Desert.

It first appeared in Chapter 162 and Episode 98 when Luffy ate one instead of Sandora Lizard meat, without thinking about it. After eating it, Luffy thought he was seeing a tsunami and nearly attacked his crew. Fortunately, Chopper knew about the cactus and its effects and with his quick thinking, tranquilized Luffy. The effect had worn off by the time Luffy woke up.

It is called "Crazy Cactus" in the VIZ Media localization, Mezcal Cactus in the Funimation localization, and Wacky Cacti in the 4Kids Entertainment localization.

Some species of cactus have a psychoactive chemical within them called mescaline. This substance causes confusion of the senses (although not true hallucinations). This is most likely the origin of the mescal cactus's name.

Thousand-Year Trees (千年木, Sen'nen Boku?) are, according to Rice Rice, trees that grow on Eight Nine Island. He also proclaims that that's where the Thousand-Year Paper is made. It also lives for a thousand years, and that's where it got its name.[9]

Main article: Giant Jack Giant Jack is a giant beanstalk in the center of Upper Yard. Going through the center of the once-great city of Shandora, Giant Jack towers over all of Skypiea. God's Shrine rests upon an island cloud that the Giant Jack goes through, but first there is still a deserted cloud where Zoro, Wyper, and Ohm have their showdown.[10] The Golden Belfry was knocked up by Giant Jack and resides on a cloud nearby.[11]

Kona Tree

Kona Tree (コナの木, Kona no Ki?) is a type of tree found on Jaya and other areas.[12]

Kona Trees are tall and possess thin trunks and leafy branches.[12]

Within the bark of this tree is a substance known as Conine (コニーネ, Konīne?). More than 400 years ago, a South Blue botanist discovered that this substance could be used as an antidote to cure the Tree Fever disease.[13]

On Jaya, Mont Blanc Noland was able to use the Conine from a local Kona Tree to to treat the infected Shandia people.[14]

Oda confirmed in SBS Volume 32 that "Conine" and "Kona Tree" are inspired by Quinine (キニーネ, Kinīne?) found in the bark of Cinchona (キナの木, Kina no Ki?) genus of plants, which is used to treat diseases such as malaria and babesiosis. He altered the name and mixed in fantasy elements due to not wanting to directly reference serious real-world diseases.[15]

Interestingly, a chemical known as Conine does in fact exist; an alternate spelling for the poisonous alkaloid in Conium maculatum, also known as poison hemlock.

Tree of Knowledge

Main article: Tree of Knowledge The Tree of Knowledge was a gigantic 5,000-year-old tree located on the island of Ohara which served as a library and a hub for archaeologists from around the world.[16] It was destroyed by the World Government via a Buster Call.

Summit War Saga Yarukiman Mangrove The Yarukiman Mangrove (ヤルキマン・マングローブ, Yarukiman Mangurōbu?) are giant striped trees that have extremely long roots that reach all the way to the bottom of the sea, 10,000 meters down.[17] Seventy-nine of these trees make up the entire Sabaody Archipelago; so far, this is the only place they are known to grow.[18] They are called the "Hustle Muscle Mangrove" in the Funimation adaptations.

Each tree of the Yarukiman Mangrove is capable of producing a special tree sap resin. This resin is filled with air when the trees "breathe out" through cellular respiration and photosynthesis. This results in the resin forming bubbles that float through the air.[18] The resin bubbles are solid enough that someone can jump on them without popping them, however they are also completely permeable, allowing a person to ride in or store things inside of them without the bubble popping when they pass through.

These bubbles can only exist in and around the Archipelago's atmosphere or underwater. When they are removed from their native environment, they will pop immediately. Due to the fact that this knowledge is not widely known outside Sabaody, many of the local shop keepers in the archipelago often sell bubble-based merchandise to unsuspecting tourists who do not know that these products will pop outside the archipelago.[19]

The World Nobles use such bubbles as air helmets during their visit in the Archipelago, in order to protect themselves from "breathing the same air as commoners", while also taking advantage of the bubble's permeable nature, such as by eating ice cream through it, something that couldn’t be done through a regular helmet.[20]

The resin is also used for Coating ships, allowing them to submerse to incredible depths and move freely under water.[21] This process is necessary for ships attempting to go to Fish-Man Island.[22]

The tree's name is a pun on the Japanese phrase, "Yaru Ki Manman", which means "to be pumped up" or "motivated".

Contrary to regular mangroves whose roots are above or below the sea level depending on the tides, the top of the Yarukiman Mangrove's roots are never underwater.

Luffy covered in Body Mushrooms. Luffy covered in Body Mushrooms.

Body Mushroom (カラダカラキノコガハエルダケ, Karada kara kinoko ga haeru dake?, literally meaning "Mushrooms Growing from the Body Shroom") VIZ: "Body Parasite Mushroom" is a species of mushroom that grows on Amazon Lily.

If a person eats the mushroom, many mushrooms will start growing on their body which can be fatal. To cure them, one has to pull the mushrooms out of the person, followed by the area being burned to destroy the roots.

Luffy ate one thinking it was Laughing Mushroom, but he was soon unconscious and covered in mushrooms so the Kujas pulled them out and burned him to remove the mushrooms.[23]

It is called the Body Parasite Mushroom in the Viz localization and the Parasite Mushroom in the Funimation subs.

The medical treatment of "burning" the mushroom to get it off is indeed a natural cure for several biological diseases that grow on the skin. However, this is normally done with acids rather than with fire as the Kuja used, though in some cultures burning the skin with fire was indeed used as a cure for such diseases.

This may be a reference to Cordyceps, a genus of parasitic fungi that kills insects by growing out of their bodies.

Laughing Mushroom

The Laughing Mushroom (ワライダケ, Warai-dake?) is a mushroom that induces the consumer to laugh happily out loud. It is perfect for those who are depressed and wish for a good time.

Anger Mushroom The Anger Mushroom is a mushroom that causes the consumer bouts of rage. An effective counter to this effect is eating a Laughing Mushroom.

Crying Mushroom The Crying Mushroom (ナキダケ, Naki-dake?) is a mushroom that causes the consumer bouts of weeping. An effective counter to this effect is eating a Laughing Mushroom.[24]

Stomach Baron

Stomach Baron (ストマックバロン, Sutomakku Baron?) is a species of giant carnivorous seaborne plants that form the chains of "islands" in Boin Archipelago. Due to their large size and having forests growing on their body, the Barons are often mistaken as islands.[25]

The forests have "plants" that are made of a variety of highly nutritional and delicious food in the middle of the island (which is actually the "mouth" of the Barons) luring prey (including sea kings) to venture there before the Barons consume them.[26]

The concept of the Stomach Baron is very similar to the Gourmetica insularis described in the 1999 novel "Die 13½ Leben des Käpt’n Blaubär“ (キャプテン・ブルーベアの13と1/2の人生, Kyaputen burūbea no 13 to 1/2 no jinsei?) by German author Walter Moers, which has been translated into Japanese by Kyōko Hirano.[27]

Weather Ball Weather Ball (天候ウェザーボール, Wezā Bōru?) is the most important invention on Weatheria. They grow in Weather Patches (天候畑, Tenkō Hata?) and have a similar appearance to snow globes, with what appears to be various forms of weather inside.[28][29]

Nami stole some of these from Weatheria, and later learned how to use them and turn them into weapons. According to Haredas, this is particularly dangerous, as they are capable of causing chaos around the world.[29]

The Weather Balls can also be used to store little pieces of clouds in them. When a few Weather Balls with clouds are combined, a big cloud is formed. The cloud can also shoot lightning. Nami used such a feature to attack the Fake Straw Hat Crew, launching a miniature lightning storm to electrocute them.[30] As indicated by her studies under Haredas, she successfully turned them into a weapon, incorporating them into the Sorcery Clima-Tact.

Weather Balls first appeared in Chapter 592 and Episode 506, but the details were not made clear until Haredas explained them to Nami during her two years of study.[28]

Pop Greens

Main article: Pop Green Pop Green are the seeds of hostile plants found in the forest of "Greenstone" on Boin Archipelago. They can grow from seeds to full-sized plants in moments.[31]

Sunlight Tree Eve lighting up Fish-Man Island.

Main article: Sunlight Tree Eve Sunlight Tree Eve (陽樹イブ, Yōju Ibu?) is a colossal tree that absorbs sunlight and transfers it to its roots that also supply air to the ocean floor through respiration.[32]

Elegant Sunflower

Elegant Sunflowers (エレガントサンフラワー, Ereganto Sanfurawā?)[33] are luminescent sunflowers, which have seen in Dressrosa. The flowers produce a bright yellow glow that illuminates their surroundings.[33] They first appear in Chapter 738 and Episode 671.

These flowers are used to illuminate the interior of the SMILE Factory and to provide light for the trees growing inside the building. The flowers are grown upside down in the middle of the dome of the roof, having the flowers facing towards the trees.[33]

Whole Cake Island Saga Whale The Whale (クジラ, Kujira?), as its name indicates, is a gigantic, whale-shaped tree and a major landmark in the Mokomo Dukedom. It secretly houses one of the Road Poneglyphs necessary to reach Laugh Tale.[34]

Kingbaum.

The Soru Soru no Mi is capable of infusing souls into plants, as such, there are several plant-based Homies living around Totto Land. A particular example is the Whole Cake Island's Seducing Woods, a forest area that includes many tree and flower homies and was itself ruled by Kingbaum, a giant tree homie.

Wano Country Saga Evil-Purging Herb The Evil-Purging Herb (邪含草, Jagansō?) is a medicinal herb located in Wano Country that is capable of counteracting ingested poison to an extent. Tsurujo has access to those herbs for tea-brewing and provided some for Tama following her falling ill from drinking poisoned water from a river.[35]

Elbaph's Treasure Tree Adam.

Main article: Treasure Tree Adam Treasure Tree Adam (宝樹アダム, Hōju Adamu?) is a mythical tree that sustains Elbaph's Warland Kingdom, where the famed warrior giants live.

Its wood is considered the strongest, highest-quality wood in the world. Its immense rarity makes it highly valuable, being considered a great treasure. Occasionally, the wood is sold on the black market, at a very high price given its value. Franky managed to purchase some for Beli200,000,000.[36] It is called "Jewel Tree Adam" in the English localization.

Yggdrasil.

Yggdrasil is a massive tree located in the Land of Gods. It is based on the Yggdrasil of Norse mythology.[37]

Main article: Mori Mori no Mi The Mori Mori no Mi is a Logia-type Devil Fruit that allows the users to create, control, and transform into plant life. It was eaten by Aramaki, better known as Admiral Ryokugyu.

Main article: Mosa Mosa no Mi The Mosa Mosa no Mi is a non-canon Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows users to control the growth rate of plants and manipulate them. It first appeared in One Piece Film: Z and was eaten by Binz.

Main article: Noko Noko no Mi The Noko Noko no Mi is a non-canon Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to create and control poisonous mushroom spores. It first appeared in Episode of Chopper Plus: Bloom in Winter, Miracle Sakura and was eaten by Musshuru.

Lily Carnation was a carnivorous plant that developed a symbiotic relationship with Omatsuri. Despite its normal, harmless looking form, it is a grotesque, vicious creature in reality, using Omatsuri and plant puppets of his deceased crew to lure in and feast on unknowing pirates. It first appeared in Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island.

Daft Green (ダフトグリーン, Dafuto Gurīn?) is a species of a tree that exists in the flying archipelago, Merveille. It first appeared in One Piece Film: Strong World.[38]

This tree releases toxic spores that can kill both animals and people, although animals can notice it by its strong smell before getting infected. After being infected, the person starts to develop green skin spots. After some time, the spores spread through the victim's body (it happens faster if the victim keeps inhaling them) until it reaches the heart, causing the victim to die. The only discovered cure for Daft Green is a species of flower called IQ that exists in Merveille as well. Both Xiao's grandmother and Nami were infected by its spores.

When arranged well, the daft green can serve as protective barrier. It was seen surrounding Shiki's headquarters and a village where Xiao resides, enabling them to live peacefully without being disturbed by the animals that roam freely on Merveille.

Daft Green Infobox A Daft Green tree. Daft green Nami infected with the tree's toxic spores. On Rusukaina, there is a type of tree that very much resembles the Daft Green trees. Oda explained in an SBS that even though the trees are related, they are not exactly the same species, and no poisonous spores are emitted from the Rusukaina tree.[39]

Both the Daft Green trees and the trees found on Rusukaina heavily resemble members of the Adansonia genus of trees, commonly known as baobab trees.

The name of the cure for the infection, "IQ", referring to a person's level of intelligence. "Daft" can be used to describe someone who is foolish.

A green tinge in the skin is sometimes associated with nausea and sickness. A physically ill person is said to look "green around the gills".

An IQ plant.

IQ (I.Q.アイキュー, Ai Kyū?) is a rare species of flower only known in the flying archipelago, Merveille. It first appeared in One Piece Film: Strong World. Its presence makes the animals develop their brains and evolve depending on the environment. This plant was later used by Dr. Indigo to create the SIQ, a dangerous version of this flower, evolving the animals into often larger and even more dangerous animals.[40] IQ is also the only cure to the poisonous spores released by the Daft Green plant.

"I.Q." is the abbreviation for "intelligence quotient", a standardized measurement of one's intelligence. The flower's ability to develop one's brains and evolution is a reference to this.

The Drowsy Mushroom (へたれダケ, Hetare-dake?) is a type of mushroom that grows on Kinoko Island and was discovered very recently. Anyone who eats it will briefly lose consciousness. When they come to, they will not have any motivation to do anything. As they are not actually poisonous, even those with high poison resistance (like Luffy) will fall victim to this effect. Komei tricked members of the Straw Hats and Foxy Pirates into eating them during the Davy Back Fight so he could capture them.[41]

The Rebound Mushroom (もどるダケ, Modoru-dake?) is a type of mushroom which also grows on Kinoko Island. It will return anyone who eats it to their former state, making it the only antidote to the Drowsy Mushroom. Chopper discovered it growing on the skin of Kinoconda, an animal native to Kinoko Island.[41]

The Wake-shroom (ネズキノコ, Nezukinoko?) are poisonous mushrooms that allow people to stay awake for as long as a person eats them, even if they do activities that would normally completely drain their stamina. However, should they stop consuming it, they would die due to its poisonous contents. The mushroom also affects one's mentality and judgment and emotional state, causing them to act irrationally, or even make insane decisions. Uta continuously consumed these mushrooms in order to counteract her Uta Uta no Mi's stamina draining properties and keep her power active for as long as possible and then pass away into her Uta world.[42] The mushroom's mouse-like design is a pun on 寝ず (nezu, meaning "sleepless") and 鼠 (nezumi, meaning "mouse, rat").

Amanita Truffle (ベニテング・トリュフ, Benitengu Toryufu?) is a type of truffle that grows in the Kinoko Islands in the East Blue. Known as the "King of Mushrooms" (キノコの王, Kinoko no Ō?), they are renowned for their incredible flavor. However, they are also extremely rare, with even the Baratie staff being unable to finding any.[43]

Emperor Carrot The Emperor Carrot (皇帝ニンジン, Kōtei Ninjin?) is an herb that grows on Royal Sun Island. It is one of the ingredients in making Ryuumonkou. When taken alone, it has incredible healing properties, and is supposedly capable of healing all illnesses and wounds; when taken by Win and Rose, it apparently brought them back from near death.[44]

Dokudamin The Dokudamin (ドクダミン, Dokudamin?) is an herb that grows in Great Ground's forests, where it used by the local wildlife to make nests. It is one of the ingredients in making Ryuumonkou.

Doriano Doriano (ドリアーノ, Doriāno?) is an herb that grows on Festa Circle, where it grows in the king's garden. It is one of the ingredients in making Ryuumonkou.

Surprised Mushroom The Surprised Mushroom (びっくりキノコ, Bikkuri kinoko?) is a mushroom species that appears in One Piece: Unlimited Adventure. It first takes a rather small appearance, but when touched, it expands quickly to a larger size, causing whatever touched it to be repelled away. In the game, it is used to jump on and launch players up to high places. Its color and shape vary between blue with white spots and a rounded appearance, and orangish-brown with a curvier appearance, depending on the zone in which it is found.

Blue Surprised Mushroom A blue Surprised Mushroom. Brown Surprised Mushroom A brown Surprised Mushroom.

The Cannibal Flower (人食い花, Hitokuibana?) is a carnivorous plant species that appears in One Piece: Unlimited Adventure. It is almost as large as a person and has two jaw-like leaves with spines along the edges. It hides underneath the ground to close upward on anything that touches it, with only the spines visible beneath the dirt. They are resistant to physical damage and sharp objects like swords.
