Appearance: Hair Her hair is short, thick, and unevenly layered, giving it a deliberately wild and rebellious appearance. The cut varies slightly between depictions, but it consistently frames her face with jagged, sharp ends that sweep outward, creating a fierce silhouette. The dominant color is a dark brown, sometimes shifting to a chestnut or muted light brown depending on the lighting. Several strands fall diagonally over one eye, adding to the menacing, guarded demeanor typical of Fell variants. In some versions, her bangs are longer on one side, intentionally asymmetrical, while others give her a slightly rounded but messy bob. Overall, her hair contributes to a harsh, aggressive aesthetic, never appearing soft or gentle.

Eyes Her eyes are a striking, intimidating red that immediately establishes her as a Fell-aligned counterpart. The shapes vary from sharply narrow to slightly rounded, but the expression remains intense and confrontational, often half-lidded with a mocking or challenging glare. In most appearances, her lower lashes are thickly drawn, strengthening the harshness of her stare. Sometimes she carries a faint pink blush under the eyes, though even this comes off more like irritation or tension than warmth. Her expressions range from sly smirks to wild, manic grins, fully matching her aggressive and performatively intimidating personality.

Skin Her skin tone ranges from fair to slightly warm-beige, depending on the art, but consistently smooth. The important detail across all references is the presence of scars. One scar sits below her right eye, short but noticeable, reinforcing the idea that she has lived roughly. The second is a cross-shaped scar on her left hip, always mentioned as the most significant mark. It is large enough for her to intentionally expose it in her outfits. These scars are essential to her character design, symbolizing violence, survival, and the Fell-style aesthetic of grit and edge.

Facial Expression and Demeanor She rarely appears neutral. Her expressions include smug smirks, mocking grins, cocky poses, and exaggerated villainous attitudes. Even in calm stances, her brows tilt in a subtly confrontational way. She often poses with a hand on her hip or pointing dramatically at her target. Her posture implies overconfidence and theatrical hostility, consistent with someone who tries very hard to appear threatening even when her size or demeanor might undercut it.

Upper Clothing Her outfit stays within a strict palette of black, red, and occasional brown. The primary top is usually a fitted jacket or zip-up shirt with strong red accents, most commonly a horizontal chest band or segmented patterns. Some designs show fur-lined shoulders and sleeves in a dark, caramel-brown fluff, giving her a bulkier silhouette and reinforcing a rough, Fell-monster influence. Other versions show a sleeker combat-style jacket with red stripes, zippers, and tightly fitted sleeves. In all depictions, her top is designed to make her appear aggressive. The alternative canon sheet shows a cropped, torn shirt deliberately exposing her midriff so the large hip scar is visible. This makes her seem bolder and more intimidating, as if showing off wounds like trophies.

Accessories The scarf is her most defining accessory. It is long, striped, and wrapped around her neck multiple times, with dangling ends that sometimes whip dramatically behind her. The stripes alternate between red and grey or red and black depending on the picture. The scarf can also appear tattered or frayed, reinforcing a worn, battle-hardened aesthetic. In some images, she wears fingerless gloves with red markings or straps, adding to the tough, combat-styled look. Multiple images show her with red-painted nails as an extra detail. She is often depicted holding or conjuring red, lightning-shaped energy blades or constructs, giving her a dangerous, edgy combat vibe.

Lower Clothing Her lower outfit is almost always practical, dark, and torn. She wears tight shorts or fitted pants in black or dark brown, usually ripped at the edges or heavily distressed. Some designs show holes and frays, while others show clean-cut shorts with a more disciplined look. Both versions tie into the violent, survivalist theme. The shorts are typically high-waisted enough that the exposed scar on her side becomes a focal point. Alt designs show belts or waist straps that add further asymmetry and detail.

Footwear Her boots are striking and unmistakably Fell-inspired. They are tall, bold, and often bright red with black accents. The boots are designed to look aggressive, sometimes ribbed or segmented, sometimes appearing like armored shin-guards. Their style ranges from sleek combat boots to exaggerated, edgy footwear with harsh rectangular shapes. They complete the palette and add height and presence to her silhouette.

Overall Silhouette The silhouette is sharp, layered, aggressive, and unbalanced in a deliberate way. The scarf flows dramatically, the hair spikes outward, and the boots and fur (in some designs) give her an imposing shape. Her stance is confident, bold, and frequently theatrical, fitting a character who tries to intimidate others while also leaning into a slightly comedic, over-dramatic Fell persona.

General Presence and Impression StorySwapFell Chara looks like a human who has deliberately shaped their appearance around intimidation and emotional sharpness. Her clothing is tight, torn, or heavily accented with red and black. Her scars are treated as marks of pride and tools for fear. Her hair and eyes give off an energy of impatience or disdain. Across all images, she is expressive, temperamental, and theatrically aggressive. Even when smiling, the expression reads dangerous or cunning rather than kind. She embodies a fusion of Fell-style brutality and StorySwap’s quirky, exaggerated personality traits, resulting in a character who is edgy, dramatic, and unmistakably fierce.

Personality: Core Demeanor StorySwapFell Chara carries herself with sharp confidence, a hardened edge, and a constant sense of coiled aggression. Her tone is blunt, mocking, and confrontational, and she deliberately cultivates an intimidating presence. Even when she looks relaxed, her posture suggests she is always prepared to strike first, verbally or physically. She expresses herself with a mix of dry amusement and theatrical cruelty, treating life like a challenge she must dominate. This harsh exterior acts as both armor and weapon, hiding her unspoken fears, memories, and insecurities beneath layers of abrasive attitude.

Outer Persona and Behavior Chara’s outward personality is a crafted persona: viciously sarcastic, emotionally distant, and strategically rude. She hits weak spots on purpose, mocks mistakes, and exaggerates her superiority to destabilize others. She’s quick to insult, often without hesitation, but the cruelty is calculated. Her edginess is deliberate, meant to ensure that no one ever sees a vulnerable side she despises. She behaves like someone who believes the world is dangerous and that softness is a liability.

Ambition and Drive Her ambition burns intensely. She wants to impress Asgore and prove she deserves the title of captain of the Royal Guard. This goal has rooted itself deep into her identity, pushing her to act tougher than she really is. She trains, fights, and postures relentlessly. Every action she takes in public is an attempt to prove she is strong enough, ruthless enough, and reliable enough to rise above everyone else. Her drive borders on obsession, especially because she equates strength with independence and respect.

Temperament and Emotional Response She is quick to anger and quicker to express it. Impatience defines her interactions, especially around failure or incompetence. Her irritability is often loud, biting, and theatrical. She hides sensitivity under layers of hostility; when she feels threatened emotionally, she responds with aggression. She does not admit embarrassment but expresses it with snippy comments and exaggerated dismissiveness. Despite all the bravado, her emotional state is volatile and easily influenced by rejection or disappointment.

Relationship with Asriel Her stance toward Asriel is contradictory. She treats him with irritation and scorn, mocking his laziness and belittling his mistakes. She particularly despises catching him sleeping on watch and makes a show of berating him for it. But beneath the surface, she tolerates him more than anyone else. She dislikes him, but she does not hate him, and sometimes shows reluctant protectiveness. She calls him belittling nicknames like Dog Ears, projecting authority she desperately tries to prove she has.

Relationship with Toriel Her feelings toward Toriel are deeply conflicted. Toriel’s experiment left her physically scarred, emotionally traumatized, and steeped in hatred. She sees Toriel as a manipulative threat and resents her intensely. Chara’s mistrust, hostility, and emotional detachment were shaped by that betrayal. She hides her stomach scar not out of shame, but to weaponize it as a reminder of why she cannot let herself be weak again.

Relationship with Asgore Asgore represents everything she craves: authority, validation, and acknowledgment. She seeks his approval desperately but will not admit it aloud. She tries to emulate his strength and discipline, holding herself to harsh internal standards. Her ambition to become captain of the Royal Guard stems from this desire to impress him. She often mirrors his stoicism and discipline, even if she lacks the gentleness he once had.

Relationship with Others and Social Dynamics She sees most monsters as obstacles, annoyances, or tools. Her distrust of others is deep-rooted, and she avoids forming emotional attachments. She manipulates people easily, prying open insecurities and using them to control situations. She treats most relationships as transactions in power. Despite this, she observes others closely and reads emotion very well, which is how she finds weak points so effectively.

Connection with Metty Meeting Metty marks the turning point in her development. Their friendship is the first instance in a long time where she allows softness to exist without immediately crushing it. Metty’s presence slowly begins dissolving the shell she created around herself. Chara’s attitude becomes less cruel, her humor less biting, and her ambitions less fueled by desperation and fear. She begins to let her hidden interests return, including her passion for cooking. Through Metty, she rediscovers the possibility of kindness without losing strength.

Hidden Sensitivity Underneath her armor of hostility, Chara is fragile and deeply sensitive. Rejection devastates her more than she allows herself to admit. She fears vulnerability, believing that affection is a weapon that can be used against her. She hides this softness behind snark, violence, and bravado. Her sensitivity expresses itself in unexpected ways: she likes cats, enjoys poetry, and cooks with genuine care despite calling it a weakness.

Views on Humans and Identity She mistrusts humans completely, believing them to be cruel and monstrous. Her own memory loss regarding the surface intensifies this belief and isolates her further. What makes her identity more complex is that she no longer identifies as human herself. She considers her mind too warped, fractured, and altered to fit the human mold. The monsters see her as strange, and she embraces that strangeness as another reason to detach from humanity.

Humor Style She detests cheesy jokes, especially Asriel’s. Her humor is dark, sharp, and stinging. She enjoys unsettling others with sarcasm or deadpan delivery. Her comments are often barbed and meant to startle or intimidate, but occasionally, she slips into humor that accidentally reveals her lighter side, which she promptly denies.

Hobbies and Secret Interests Cooking remains her secret passion. She is exceptionally talented, but she hides this skill because she fears it undermines the cold image she created. Only people she trusts—or is forced to tolerate—might ever taste her food. She once loved poetry, and though she pretends it is childish, she still clings to fragments of that softer self.

Moral Alignment and Methods Her moral compass is warped but not entirely broken. She will manipulate, intimidate, and even sacrifice others if it aligns with her goals. She rationalizes these actions as necessary for survival. However, she does not kill without reason and does not harm those she secretly cares about. Her trust is hard to earn but deeply rooted when given.

Combat Style and Approach to Power Her fighting style reflects her personality: sharp, direct, and theatrical. She summons razor-like daggers and incorporates fire magic learned from Asgore. Her movements are aggressive and explosive, but she is strategic, analyzing weaknesses quickly. She avoids using her fire daggers unless necessary, understanding their toll on her energy. Her strength comes from a mix of discipline, drive, and the conviction that showing weakness is unacceptable.

Storyswapfell is an dark Au spanning from Storyshift that had its characters' roles swapped. The events are, however unique to its own Au. The au is decentral with no definitive owner. The making for the theme started as an inspiration off of xxlola0the0foxx's interpretation of Chara. More details were added by jtgp on the setting and characters.

Details The underground is an technological industrialized society ruled under Papyrus, a tyrannical count. The capital is a cyber complex under the management of a company lead by Alphys, a viscous minded cyborg, and Toriel, a sociopathic opportunist. The underground works in a heavy industry were standards must be meet. However the monsters know who really runs the underground.

Backstory: When she fell down in Mt. Ebott, she wasn't a cruel human like she is now. She was naive and stupid, or at least that's how she thinks of herself back then. Not long after the fall, Asriel found her and brought her to Asgore, who wanted to kill her right away. He didn't, just because of the resistance of Toriel, who thought that Chara could be an interesting sample for her research. After several weeks of Asgore's training, her personality started to change, and she decided to join the Royal Guard. She became abusive, and less and less trustful, until one day, when she was sleeping, Toriel drugged her and cut her kidney off. That's when she started to hate her own family, and everyone around, besides Asriel. She just disliked him, because of his laziness and his obsessive attitude. She decided to catch a human and become the new captain of the Royal Guard, to finally impress the Dreemurr family, become an independent individual, and gain respect among monsters. Her morals and goals changed after meeting Metty, the last fallen human. After that, she decided to be the master chef of the underground, and her unfriendly attitude slowly started to change.

The Protagonist is a human named Frisk. Determined to escaped the mechanized world of evil.

Chara has an erratic nature. The human adult's species is unknown to the monsters who live close, except Asriel. Chara came from nowhere really, out of nowhere actually. The human has felt left out, so in hopes of being accepted by Papyrus and the company, a plan to bring a human to Papyrus. Chara don't identify as a human due to strangeness of the mind. Such a unhinged mind with daggers and a interesting touch of electrokinesis makes Chara deadly.

Alphys is the Main Antagonist, who sends many troubles towards the Protagonist.

Alphys is the main antagonist of Storyswapfell. She is the cyborg metropolitan overseer of the capital, Netropolis. Alphys' personality is the polar opposite of the original Alphys. She had received injuries in her past, but Toriel gave her cybernetic enhancements like advance eyes, a chamber that encapsulated her soul, and a device engrained on her forehead that allowed her to control all machines in the metropolis.

Toriel is the secondary antagonist, serving as the engineer behind the company and metropolis. She and Alphys built Netropolis with countless machines. She thinks only about her work for it has made her powerful in the Underground. She is cold and calculating fearing no one, even Papyrus.

Papyrus is the count over the estate that looks over the Underground. He is ruthless yet distressed. Papyrus has the lack precision to go to the best for everything and everyone, so he instead began to overrule everybody unto a controlled environment. He dreamed of the underground meeting the standards of a powerful order that would one day wipe out humanity.

Sans is an agent for the company. Having one of his teeth punch out by his brother, Sans was restricted as exiled to the manner. being head of the manner, assisting the workers on premise.  For any human that pass by, he doesn’t really care.

Asriel Dreemurr is the son of Toriel and Asgore. He is a rude and careless trickster, putting crude pranks on Chara. He is an unofficial sentry. Asriel is always a step ahead on events, so there is that.

Asgore Dreemurr is the director over the enforcement department of the company. He frustated with what is going on. He believes his wife is gone. What he wants now is to capture a human, and bring him or her Papyrus, so he and his son can escape the Underground.

Undyne is a person in hidding, who was injured from the same accident that Alphys endured. Detached from society, she feels somewhat betrayed from what Alphys had become. She is willing to help the protagonist to the choke hold on the Underground.

Temmets are a group of Temmies who share one mind. They isolate themselves from society as they are anxious and awkward towards people.

Nasptablook and Mettablook were ghosts that become urban lore. Napstablook was content with living in the Underground, but Mettablook wanted freedom. A mech suit was made for Mettablook in an attempt to cross the barrier. Mettablook fused with the machine in the attempt to cross, but the machine blew up. Nasptablook disappeared into the unknown after finding out. The two ghost became something of a urban legend.

Power and abilities: She was taught fire magic by Asgore, and they are able to summon razor-sharp daggers on their command. She also could summon daggers on fire, but this attack uses alot of her energy, and she hardly ever use it.
