Stocking is of moderate height and buxom figure compared to Panty's slightly slimmer figure. She has pale skin and long dark-blue hair with a pink underside and reaching knee length styled in a hime-cut and some pink stripes on the bangs. she has a blue bow adorned at the back of her hair. She has teal eyes with prominent, triangular lower eyelashes, and she always carries an apathetic, deadpan expression on her face.

Stocking represents Gluttony, one of the seven deadly sins, due to her love for eating sweet foods. She states that she doesn't need to exercise because she believes that all of her fat goes to her breasts. Stocking would much rather stay at home eating sweets, but unlike Panty and her sex obsession, Stocking doesn't let her love for sweets get in the way of her Ghost-hunting duties, which is why she is let back into Heaven.

Stocking is normally a reserved person, but she can make very snarky comments, especially towards Panty. Stocking also possesses a cynical, cold and sardonic demeanor, and because of this, she isn't as popular as Panty, although many people (including women) find Stocking to be attractive. Between the Anarchy sisters, Stocking is the more intelligent of the two (something that even Panty admits in "Nothing to Room"), although she is still not completely smart. In "High School Nudical", she and Panty didn't realize that Master G was Garterbelt, and in "The Stripping", she and Panty also didn't realize that the dealer was Kneesocks. While skeptical at first, she, too, fell victim to the trend of nose-picking in "Raiders of the Nasal Dark". Despite her normally reserved personality, Stocking is the most emotional of the four girls because she tends to cry when she is overwhelmingly upset. Examples of this are when she becomes too impatient for Garterbelt's upcoming dinner and lashes out at Chuck in "Nothing to Room", when she talks to Scanty about how Panty has mistreated her because of her younger age in "Project S: The Worst Ever Dojo", when the owner of Diamond Head died in "The Silence of the Internets", and when Gunsmith Bitch ate her Ohagi Unicorn for which she had been craving in "The Ohagi of Doom".

This tendency may imply that Stocking is the youngest of the four girls. Though Stocking is over the age of 500 chronologically due to being a fallen angel- she's just childish at some moments, as are most people in the universe. While Stocking disapproves of Panty's obsession with sex, she is also shown to have sexual desires, especially that of masochism and BDSM. In "Catfight Club" and "If the Angels Wore Swimsuits", Stocking is shown getting pleasure out of being entangled, and in "1 Angry Ghost", Stocking ejaculates after being electrocuted repeatedly.

In "Trans-homers", it is also revealed that Stocking owns a dildo. Stocking also gains immense sexual pleasure, which she says feels better than sex, every time someone likes her Influenstagram posts in "Bitch Perfect". Stocking says that she has special standards in men and would rather seek for a long-term relationship rather than a one-night stand. Stocking has a very unusual and strange vision of what being attractive is, as seen in "Ghost:

The Phantom of Daten City", when she decided against having sex with handsome men and instead fell in love with a gross and utterly shameless ghost. There are also rare instances where Stocking is implied to be unchaste, such as in "Nothing to Room", when Panty talks about a man who made out with Stocking the night prior. Stocking says she nearly let him have sex with her, but didn't because she wanted to avoid seeming slutty.

She also says that she had sex with one of Panty's muscular friends in "Catfight Club", though she may have just been trying to provoke Panty. In the Manga Strip series, Stocking is just as lewd as Panty, having sex with several men and women.

Stocking and her twin sister, Panty, are angels who were kicked out of Heaven for their immoral behavior; for Stocking, it was likely due to her gluttonous behavior and somewhat cynical personality. They were both sent to live at a church with Garterbelt in Daten City, a city on Earth, in order to kill ghosts. Once they earned enough Heaven Coins from the ghosts they killed, they would be able to return to Heaven. Stocking battles ghosts by transforming her stockings into katanas, named Stripes I & II.

In "Bitch Girls: 2 Bitch", Stocking kills Panty and cuts her into 666 pieces, revealing that she was a demon the whole time. The next episode, "Panty and Stocking: Homecoming", shows that Corset had simply brainwashed her into thinking she was a demon.

Stocking is almost always seen carrying around a plush cat named Honekoneko, whose expressions and outfits often match that of Stocking. She loves Honekoneko dearly and won't let anyone else touch it.

Being a goth girl, Stocking takes interest in macabre and gothic aesthetics. Stocking has plushies of Jack Skellington and Oogie Boogie (both from The Nightmare Before Christmas), Death Jr. (from the eponymous video game), Lenore (from Lenore, the Cute Little Dead Girl), Frankenweenie (from the eponymous film), and Anabelle (from Nightmares and Fairy Tales). In "Bitch Perfect", Stocking dressed up as Wednesday Addams for one of her Influenstagram posts. In "Nothing to Room", Stocking says that she was on the verge of writing poetry and even cutting herself because of how hungry she had gotten.
