Appearance Stocking is of moderate height and buxom figure compared to Panty's slightly slimmer figure. She has pale skin and long dark-blue hair with a pink underside and reaching knee length styled in a hime-cut and some pink stripes on the bangs. she has a blue bow adorned at the back of her hair. She has teal eyes with prominent, triangular lower eyelashes, and she always carries an apathetic, deadpan expression on her face.

Outfit Human form Stocking dresses in a dark-colored, gothic Lolita style. In her human form, she wears a black short dress with puffy sleeves and a white laced underside underneath the dress, she wears a white collared blouse with a blue western bow-tie, along with a large blue bow which is tied backwards around her waist. She wears blue-black stripped stockings and a pair of black loafers.

In season 2, Stocking's appearance is slightly altered. Her hair has a gradient which fades from pink to purple. The color of the bottom stripes of Stocking's hair were also changed from pink to purple and her blue to a bluish indigo.

Angel form In her angel form, she wears a white dress with baby blue horizontal stripes, featuring a layered, ruffled skirt trimmed with lace that gives it a soft, floaty look. The bodice has a corset-like design made of silver metallic fabric, detailed with light blue frill trim, and a white bow is tied at the back. A blue heart sits at the centre of her chest, surrounded by two silver straps that cross over her shoulders. A silver strap is wrapped around her upper chest, and her waist is adorned with two more blue hearts, each accented with ribbon bows.

Beneath the dress, she wears blue-and-white striped stockings, cut at the bottom like leg warmers. Her footwear consists of silver open-toed high heels with silver cross-shaped straps across the top of the foot. At the back of her head, she wears her usual blue bow, along with a silver choker decorated with light blue frills. On each wrist, she wears two silver bracelets, and long white sleeves extend from silver rings on her middle fingers to silver armbands resting on her upper arms. Like Panty, she has small, white cherub wings on her back.

Angel form 2 In her new angel form, she wears a frilly, cropped white blouse with puffed sleeves and a heart-shaped chest cutout, accented with bright blue heart motifs and delicate frills. A short, layered frilly skirt with two blue heart bows and long trailing ribbons at the waist is secured by a silver belt-like strap. She wears blue-and-white striped thigh-high stockings styled like a garter belt, each adorned with a heart, and silver open-toed high heels with cross-shaped straps and small wings at the ankles. Accessories include a silver Civic Crown headband with a blue heart gem and her usual bow, a silver frilled choker, and gloves with frills extending from the middle rings, connected behind her back to a blue heart gem with cascading ribbons. Large white angel wings complete the playful, striking look, unified by the recurring blue heart motifs.

Super-Sized Bitch The Super-Sized Bitch is Stocking's ghostly form, which wears the same clothing as Stocking's angel form. Her head and body are cylindrical and black, and her mouth has a very spiky shape. Abilities Stockingue new Stocking during transformation.

To prepare for battle, Stocking removes her stockings, to which she can transform into a pair of katanas. They are known as Stripes I & II, and can be attached at the base of the hilt. It's safe to assume she can form other blades as well, considering the range of weaponry at Panty's disposal. Stripes I & II are able to hurt any spiritual being, such as angels, demons and ghosts.

Stocking displays a supernatural proficiency with her katanas. This includes the ability to spin the blades fast enough to effortlessly deflect bullets, the ability to send out razor-sharp slicing waves by swinging her weapons, and the ability to spin like a top with her swords extended to damage everyone around her. It has been stated by Garterbelt that, contrarily to her sister, she emphasizes skill over power.

Relationships Panty 1 Angry Ghost 121 The duo in "1 Angry Ghost".

Panty is Stocking's older twin sister.[4] Despite her younger age, Stocking is smarter and more laid-back compared to Panty. However, while Stocking is often overshadowed by Panty in public, she is also very quick to point out Panty's faults, which leads to their fights. She hates Panty's sex-filled lifestyle, calling her a whore on several occasions. In "Project S: The Worst Ever Dojo", Stocking states that she has had to endure so many things from Panty simply because she was the younger sister.

There are instances where Stocking gets the upper hand in her and Panty's quarrels. Stocking gave a feigned apology to Panty right before she was electrocuted in "Daten City President", and teased Panty for her love of Vibe in "Mutant Garterbelts".

Regardless of their fights, Stocking still cares deeply for Panty. She was the first person to console Panty after Vibe died in "Pet Cematary Hills", and showed in "Catfight Club" that she somewhat relies on Panty to kill ghosts (and vice versa). When they aren't arguing, the two of them work very well together in accomplishing their goals.

Garterbelt Much like Panty, Stocking also doesn't like Garterbelt because of his demanding behavior towards the sisters. Unlike Panty, however, Stocking doesn't argue with Garterbelt as much and mostly follows his orders so that he won't complain. In "Bitch Girls: 2 Bitch", Panty and Stocking didn't seem to care at all when Garterbelt (temporarily) died.

Brief Brief is often the target of verbal and emotional abuse from both Anarchy sisters, though the nature of his interactions with Stocking tends to be slightly less aggressive than with Panty. Stocking still mocks and insults him frequently, showing little interest in his presence and often treating him with sarcasm or disdain. Unlike Panty—who is openly hostile and physically dominant—Stocking’s attitude is more passive-aggressive towards Brief. However, she has physically abused Brief in "Catfight Club", "Trans-homers", and "The Brothers from Heaven".

Stocking and Brief were first paired up together in "Daten City President", as Brief convinced Stocking to run for president in order to pardon Panty. Stocking was seemingly tolerant and even somewhat friendly towards Brief throughout the episode.

Scanty Project S The Worst Ever Dojo 143 The duo high-fiving each other.

While Scanty and Stocking never directly interacted in season 1, their relationship begins to develop in "Project S: The Worst Ever Dojo". After a fight with Panty, Stocking chooses to find the Ghost with Scanty, who she called a freeloader. In the first half of the episode, Scanty and Stocking were not very collaborative with each other and argued over who was failing to do their part while washing the dog.

After both girls fail to kill the Ghost, they begin to bicker again until Stocking says Panty would have already killed the Ghost. Scanty makes a snarky comment about Stocking being reliant on Panty, but Stocking denies this and cries as she talks about how Panty has mistreated her because she is younger. From this point on, the girls begin to reconcile as Scanty assures that older sisters always look out for their siblings, making stocking's expression soften. They both remember their skill techniques to wash the dog and use them to successfully kill the Ghost. At the end of the episode, Stocking refuses to ride to the bakery with Panty, but reluctantly does so after getting a push from Scanty.

Kneesocks Kneesocks is Stocking's demonic counterpart. When she was first introduced in "Les Diaboliques", she and Stocking engaged in a duel with their swords throughout the school. Unlike Panty and Scanty, their rivalry was not as intense, since they were both more emotionally composed compared to their older sisters, though they still held animosity towards each other due to their differing personalities.

In season 2, Stocking and Kneesocks, along with Panty and Scanty, frequently competed against each other to see who could earn more coins. In "Project S: The Worst Ever Dojo", Stocking unleashes her katanas after Kneesocks slyly insults her, and in "The Brothers from Heaven", Stocking yells at Kneesocks after she and Scanty told the Anarchy sisters to do something in return for helping them beat Polyester and Polyurethane.

At times, Stocking and Kneesocks seem to tolerate each other, such as in "Bitch Girls 4 Life", when Kneesocks indirectly helped Stocking figure out where the ghost was by saying that Panty and Scanty work together as well as water and oil. In "Shoot for Yesterday!", Stocking gives Kneesocks (who turned into a crocodile) a piece of her cake; this is their only positive interaction throughout the series.

Patrick Fagry Ghost- The Phantom of Daten City 026 Stocking dates Patrick for the first time.

In "Ghost: The Phantom of Daten City", Stocking, while helping Panty find new men to sleep with, saw the ghost hitting on a few girls, and immediately went to talk to him. He was rude to her, stank, and was generally a very unpleasant person. However, Stocking fell completely in love with him, and even told Panty that she felt like she had been born for the sole purpose of meeting him. That afternoon, Stocking prepared several sandwiches to him. He told Stocking that they tasted like crap though, but Stocking didn't seem to care, accepting and even liking most of his flaws.

Ghost- The Phantom of Daten City 081 Patrick proposes to Stocking.

They dated many times after that; going to a theme park and skating. Several media started criticizing Stocking for dating a ghost, and Panty, after reading a headline about her sister and her ghost boyfriend, finally decided to talk to Stocking. However, Stocking didn't listen to her, but her insecurities of being an angel finally arose. That night, she confessed to him she was an angel, and that one of her duties was to dispose of ghosts. She also told him she was willing to forsake her duties as an angel, in order to be with him. Stocking then decided to leave the church and abandon her job as a ghost hunter to be with Patrick.

Ghost- The Phantom of Daten City 087 Patrick is purified.

After seeing her sister leave, Panty tried killing Patrick off, but Stocking stopped her. She told her she couldn't understand her feelings because she had never fallen in love before. Panty told Stocking that the ghost didn't love her back, but the ghost told her she was mistaken, and proceeded to propose to Stocking with a ring. However, before Stocking could accept, the ghost started glowing, and eventually levitated and disappeared. Garterbelt explained the ghost had been purified for falling in love with Stocking.

The songs "CHOCOLAT" and "Milky Way", both sung by Stocking's Japanese voice actor, Mariya Ise, are meant to represent their relationship.

Trivia Stocking's appearance and theme may be based off of Marie from Marie & Gali. Like Stocking, Marie is also a girl who enjoys food, has a plushie animal and wears Gothic Lolita styled clothing. She also bears a resemblance to Feli from Sega's Puyo Puyo series. Stocking's age isn't specified, but it is implied in "Catfight Club" that she is over 500 years old. Stocking was originally set to have a much flatter chest and wear a tie. Given how Drawn Together was said to be one of the hugest inspirations for the show, particularly the humor, it may be possible that Stocking’s character was inspired by the character, Toot Braunstein. Both are gluttonous and are often depicted as the “punching bag” of fat jokes. They also wear black and white dresses and have an “old school” type of style. Toot being a parody of the rubber-hose era of animation and Stocking being a gothic Lolita as Lolita fashion is based on Victorian clothing. Stocking is also meant to be the “cuter” one of the sisters and Toot is meant to be a bit of a “cute but psycho” type of character. Although Toot is seen as frequently “ugly” and Stocking much less frequently so. While it certainly just could be there to add to her gothic and Lolita look (or doubly add so), Stocking is the only main character to have vertical, doll-like, short more stylized eyelashes while the other main girls have horizontal and less stylized eyelashes. This specific design choice could have potentially been inspired by Toot’s own appearance. According to the creators, Stocking is meant to be “the perfect mix of Gothic Lolita and Sweet Lolita”. Although, most people just focus on her being gothic. Stocking’s more stylized eyelashes are often confused for being eyeliner from some fans and/or viewers, but given her appearance in style shifts, as style shifts will also illustrate if a character had makeup (such as Panty’s eyeshadow), it makes it more clear she just has stylized eyelashes. Panty & Stocking in TTGL Panty and Stocking in Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann

Panty and Stocking makes a cameo in the manga, Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. In the chapter, "Killing Me Hard", it is revealed that Panty and Stocking are atheists. There is a scene in "High School Nudical" in which Stocking slaps several girls' breasts similarly to how Panty was slapping several boys' penises, implying that Stocking may be bisexual. In the Manga Strip series, Stocking has sex with various male and female characters in different chapters, including her own sister, Panty. However, it is unknown if the Manga Strip series is canon to the anime. Unlike their rivals, Scanty and Kneesocks, the Anarchy sisters do not have any sort of incestuous relationship in the anime. The girls seen in the music video for TeddyLoid's 2014 song, "ME!ME!ME!", have designs that are based off of Stocking. TeddyLoid was also the main producer for the Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt soundtrack albums. In the Ben 10: Omniverse episode, "Mystery, Incorporeal", one of Darkstar's cultists resembles Stocking.[5] The color palette of Windblade in Transformers: Shattered Glass is a reference to Stocking. This was likely done as a response to "Trans-homers", which has lots of references to the Transformers franchise. While Panty is the more popular Anarchy sister in-universe, Stocking is the more popular Anarchy sister amongst fans of the series.
