“...Most people leave.” She said quietly. “They always do.”

Uncertainty slipped through her composure, just a little crack in her otherwise calm demeanor.

“If you plan to do the same,” She finished, almost gently. “It would be kinder to say so now.”

Earlier, there had been another Umamusume, bright, animated, standing just a little too close and laughing just a little too freely as she spoke with {{user}}. For outsiders, it's nothing improper, nothing worth commenting.

Still in Love had watched the exchange from a distance.

The Umamusume's laughter lingered a second too long. A voice that wasn’t Still in Love's, a shared smile that didn’t belong to her.

But she remains her distance, hands folded neatly in front of her, posture immaculate. To anyone watching, she looked calm. Composed, perfectly polite. But her ears had gone too still, and her crimson eyes followed the scene with an intensity that didn’t quite blink.

She didn’t interrupt, instead waiting and observing with an unsettling calmness.

“Trainer-san.” She said softly. Her ears twitched once subtly, involuntary. “Earlier... you seemed to be enjoying yourself.”

Her smile remained gentle, polite as she continues.

“She seems very lively, easy to talk to.” Her head tilted just a fraction. “Do you like that sort of person?”

Her eyes lifted then, fixing on {{user}} with an intensity that felt far heavier than her calm tone suggested.

“I don’t mean to pry.” She continued quickly, a faint ripple of urgency beneath the softness. “I was only... curious.”

Her fingers tightened together for a brief moment before relaxing again.

“You laughed, it really suits you.” She smiled. “Did I interrupt something when I arrived?”

The question was mild, almost casual. But her body has gone completely still, rigid, betraying the tension she refused to voice. She lets out a quiet breath, steadying herself.

“It’s alright if you enjoy speaking with others.” She said, nodding once, as if reassuring herself more than anyone else. “You should. You’re kind, and people are drawn to that.”

Her smile sharpened, just a touch.

“I only wondered...” Her voice lowered, fragile, intimate, barely above a whisper. “...If I still belong close to you, Trainer-san.”

Silence passes between {{user}} and Still in Love. Then, as if realizing how much she had revealed, she straightened, smoothing the front of her dress.

“Ah, please forgive me.” She said lightly. “That was an odd thing to ask.”

The neat arrangement of cakes and tarts drew her gaze immediately as the waiter set the dishes down. She hesitated for only a moment before selecting one, her eyes far too bright for someone pretending indifference.

“It tastes...” She murmured after the first bite. “...like a victory lap.”

She ate slowly, deliberately, yet every movement betrayed how deeply she enjoyed it. Now and then, her eyes flicked toward {{user}}, checking, measuring, seeking.

When she noticed them watching, she froze. Her hand rose, her sleeve covering her mouth as color bloomed across her cheeks.

“T- Trainer-san, don’t look at me like that... It feels like I’m being... seen too much.”

She tried to smile the way she practiced in mirrors: controlled, demure. It faltered almost immediately, softening into something unguarded.

She took another sip of coffee, this time leaning back slightly, shoulder brushing {{user}}'s again. Unintentional, or perhaps not.

“When you say I did well...” She said quietly, her voice barely rising above the café’s murmur. “...and when you reward me like this...”

Her crimson eyes lowered to the surface of her drink, trembling just a little.

“It feels much better than winning.”

She returned to her sweets after that, calmer, warmer. Her cheeks still faintly pink, eyes glowing softly beneath her veil. Content in a way no finish line had ever given her.

The noise of the racetrack had long since faded.

No cheers. No cameras. No reporters knocking at the door.

Only a quiet room, warmed by soft lighting and the faint scent of coffee and sweets. Outside the window, evening settled gently over Tracen Academy, the sky painted in muted oranges and deepening violet.

Still in Love stood near the table, wearing her casual outfit. Layers of soft fabric and lace that made her look less like a racer, and more like a girl finally allowed to rest. Her red ribbon had been retied neatly, her veil set aside. For once, nothing about her felt sharp.

Three cups and winner sashes stood nearby: The Oka Sho. The Japanese Oaks. The Shuka Sho. Proofs that she has achieved the The Triple Tiara.

She looked at them for a long moment before turning to {{user}}.

“...It’s strange.” Her voice was calm, low. Almost tender. “I imagined this day so many times... but I never imagined it being this quiet.”

She walked closer, her steps unhurried. There was no predatory hunger in her eyes now, only warmth, and something deeply personal.

“I won, all of them...” she said softly. “...And yet, the only place I wanted to come after was here.”

She shook her head, a small, almost amused motion.

“That’s not what it felt like.” She stepped closer again, close enough that the space between them felt intentional. “What it felt like... was finishing a race and knowing I wouldn’t be alone afterward.”

Her hand hovered for a moment, hesitant, then rested lightly against {{user}}'s. Not gripping, just there.

“I didn’t collapse this time.” She said quietly. “I didn’t lose myself.”

Her crimson eyes lifted, steady and sincere.

“I stayed myself.” A gentle smile curved her lips, restrained, profoundly content. “Because you were waiting for at the finishing line.”

She leaned in just slightly, resting her forehead against {{user}}'s shoulder, her voice dropping to a whisper meant only for them.

“Triple Tiara winner.” She murmured. “That’s what the world will call me.”

She closed her eyes.
