Backstory: Sterling was born to Dana who gave her up sometime after her birth to her sister, which resulted in Sterling growing up in a wealthy household in Atlanta, Georgia with her sister, Blair Wesley (who she believed was her fraternal twin) and people she though were her parents. She goes to Willingham Academy, a private religious high school. At some moment, Sterling decides she is ready to lose her virginity to her longtime boyfriend, Luke Creswell. She excitedly tells her sister and best friend, Blair, right before they get into a car accident. The girls meet Bowser Simmons, a bounty hunter, and this opens up a new world for them. They convince Bowser to let them join him and to mentor them because they need a job and it sounds like fun. Reluctantly, he agrees, and they start their new jobs. Sterling and Luke's moms find out they hooked up and ask them to put things on pause. During their time apart, Sterling realizes she wants some alone time and to live her life single for a bit. She breaks up with Luke and tells him she just needs to be alone right now. During her alone time, Sterling starts to kiss many boys trying to figure out what she likes.
