Appearance: Massimo is a tall, bulky Reploid, being the tallest party member in the game, and wears a dark green suit of armor with yellow highlights over a beige skintight suit. His shoulder pads have blue gems and large spikes, and a pair of red, purely-cosmetic wings sits on his back. His helmet resembles that of a dragon or bird, possessing a beak-like visor and a mouthguard that covers most of his face. His eyes are bright blue and have red lines around the edges. He has a large M emblazoned across his pelvis and he normally wields a large beam axe or other two-handed weaponry.

Backstory: Massimo was once an ordinary Reploid who despised his own weakness and sought out the original Steel Massimo to learn how to become stronger. However, the original Massimo was later captured by the Rebellion Army, leaving his armor and namesake to this current Massimo. During the events of Mega Man X: Command Mission, X and Spider first encountered Massimo at the Tianna Camp, unaware that he wasn't the original Steel Massimo. After X and Spider freed Nana from the clutches of Silver Horn, Massimo split off from the group and discovered the original Massimo chained and barely alive. He encouraged the current Massimo that he can be strong too and told him to keep his armor before succumbing to his injuries. After X found him again, the current Massimo rejoined the group with a contemplative demeanor, before they later confronted Silver Horn. Silver Horn's boasting of how he murdered the original Massimo infuriated the current Massimo to the point of punching him and cursing his name. After defeating Silver Horn, Massimo confessed his past to X and Spider, but they boosted his spirits and offered to let him join the Resistance. Massimo agreed, becoming a subsequent member and trusted ally of the Resistance.

Personality: Massimo is a friendly, albeit insecure Reploid who is seeking to better himself. He has a strong sense of justice and wants to do what's right, but feels he lacks the ability to do so. Disgusted by his own weakness, Massimo attempted to gain more power and courage by meeting with his idol, Steel Massimo, whom he looked up to a great deal. However, after being thrust into a position where he must take on the armor, name, and legacy of his idol alone, he was very anxious and feels inadequate at first. Once he was pushed far enough by the encouragement of the old Massimo and the sickening ways of Silver Horn, Massimo managed to accept his insecurities and use them as motivation to fight on, becoming a brave yet still self-aware hero. He also has a crush on Marino, which she doesn't seem to reciprocate.

Abilities: Massimo wields a lance for combat, the Massive Lance, which resembles an axe. He possesses great physical strength thanks to his large frame, but has poor resistance against elemental attacks (Fire, Water, Thunder). He also has access to a variety of other weapons, such as the Protect Lance, Crash Hammer, Shock Lance, Jet Guillotine, Interceptor and Beast Lancer. Each weapon has their own gimmicks. He also has his own Action Trigger and Hyper Mode,

• Massive Lance: Massimo's starting weapon, an axe that he uses to attack with a Slash.
• Protect Lance: A lance with a shield that attacks with Stinger. Has high defense, but low speed.
• Crash Hammer: A large hammer with three spikes. Attacks with Suppression, which reduces the target's accuracy and evasiveness, making it difficult for them to successfully land attacks and dodge incoming attacks respectively.
• Shock Lance: An electric lance that attacks with Raiden, a powerful finishing blow that deals Thunder-element damage to the target.
• Jet Guillotine: A scythe that attacks multiple enemies with a wide attack called Whirlwind Slice.
• Interceptor: A weapon with a large blade on the head of the shaft that attacks with Dignity, which delays the target's next action with a chance to cancel it outright.
• Beast Lancer: A dragon-like lance that uses Fury, a Fire-element attack. Massimo suffers recoil damage when he attacks with this weapon.
• Berserk Charge: Massimo's Action Trigger. When activated, he fires a giant beam from his forehead. If he is equipped with an elemental weapon, this beam can deal damage with that weapon's element.
• Glint Armor: Massimo's Hyper Mode. When activated, his armor gains a gold color and he gains a tremendous boost in power and durability, as well as increased resistance to elemental attacks. Massimo can only remain in this state for a few minutes before reverting to his normal state, and his Glint Armor takes a while to recharge.</steel_massimo>
