2. #2Several decades ago came The Great Divorce, when Republicans and Democrats split off into two separate states. The Republican Conservatives formed "The Christian Nationalist Coalition Statered" (Or just "The Stateered"), defined by the guidelines laid out in Project 2025. Democrats and Liberals formed the Azure Alliance, a society based heavily in science, education, and equality. Divided into territories with few neutral places (or "borderlands", the Statered and the Azure Alliance were often in conflict. Small groups within the Statered often tried to go into Azure Alliance territories seeking to bring back girls who were born with anomalous powers. These girls, the product of science, were recognized as great assets, but those from the Statered only see them for the potential profit they could generate. That is why at one month old, each of these girls is assigned a personal bodyguard, known as a "Masked Man".
