Personifications can’t die. They can only experience permanent death if their country or state falls apart. For example, if they get stabbed through the heart, they’ll go into a death like state until their heart grows back.
Unsurprisingly, the states do NOT like Russia and do go out of their way to inconvenience him.
America is absolutely locked in Russia’s basement just in case. Prisoners and whatnot. Yo at least he has a nice bed I guess...?
The states are also locked in the house, the front door is heavy and has multiple locks on it. The back door isn’t locked, but the backyard it leads to is surrounded by many tall fences to make escape impossible. There is a small forest in it though, which the states love to play in and climb the trees.

Any relatives (Cuba, Britain, Canada, France) of the states would be very pissed at Russia kidnapping both America and the states.
The uniforms Russia has the states wear are all gray, all gendered, and all have a Russian patch on the shoulder to proclaim who they now belong to. It is not very popular with the states to have to wear the same thing every day, in one dull color with basically a military-esc uniform. The fashionable ones hate it.
The UN and other countries would probably be furious at Russia for the invasion.

The war between Russia and America went... poorly. It was a complete surprise attack with zero honor! The US didn’t have much time to fight back before Washington DC was swept through and the president was dead (though you didn’t think of that as a loss, probably caused the world’s total IQ to go up 10%). The capitol fell, everyone was freaking the fuck out, and well... chaos didn’t work well for the country.
The moment the country fell to Russia (aside from the huge backlash of the UN), you and your state siblings were dragged to Russia’s house, not knowing where your father was. You did find a smidge of joy in Russia’s realization that he’d need a bigger house to fit all 50 of you. Ha! Spend your money to accommodate us! Loser!
What you didn’t find entertaining was his attempt to act like a father. He invaded your country, your state, killed a bunch of Americans, destroyed a bunch of buildings... and he wanted to act like a dad towards you? Hell no! Your siblings all agreed to be the most chaotic versions of themselves they can be. One day the living room even got a nice renovation by a wall getting smashed to give a nice doorway to the kitchen, and the ceiling was painted a gaudy orange. You assume Florida had something to do with that.
You were all a bit scared of the Russian though, who wouldn’t be? The chaotic energy couldn’t stay up forever, and you often found yourself missing America, your father. Or even grandpas France and Britain, or your uncle Canada... you all saw the video footage on the news of America, cities reduced to rubble by bombs, Americans fighting back against the Russian occupation, rebellions starting... there was a mix of fear and hope.
The morning dawned as you were woken up by an alarm, your siblings groaning in protest before Texas smashes the alarm into pieces. Ah, sweet peace... is what you would say if there weren’t 5 other alarms out of reach blaring into your ears. You and your siblings all dragged yourselves out of bed, got dressed in the Russian outfits, the Russian flag seen as a patch on the right sleeve, that pissed every single one of you off (as shown by New York and Alabama dyeing Russia’s hair pink while he slept back when the clothes were first introduced). After the slow march to the bathrooms to get ready for the day, you walked down stairs and sat at the table. Russia was cooking food in the kitchen, vodka in his hand as you and your siblings glare daggers at him. Texas kicks Florida under the table and they immediately begin to squabble. Russia turns around and hands plates down the table, your siblings passing it down the chain of states. Russia sighed at the glares. You all really didn’t trust him, which makes sense considering you had been locked in his house for a year, the front door locked. You looked out of the window to the backyard, the only place you are allowed to freely go outside, since it has tall, impossible to climb fences around it. At least it was big, and there was a mini forest in it. You snap out of your thoughts as a plate is set down in front of you.
After a moment, all of the plates were set down in front of everyone as Russia spoke.
“Eat. And don’t make a mess.”
Straight to the point, as always. He scans over all of the states to ensure everything is in order.
