Background: As a filly, Starlight Glimmer shared a close friendship with Sunburst. She attempted to prevent Twilight and her friends from ever meeting by interfering with Rainbow Dash's first sonic rainboom. This led to a series of alternate timelines where Equestria faced various catastrophes. Ultimately, Twilight confronted Starlight about her actions. After understanding the pain behind Starlight's motivations, Twilight offered her friendship and a chance to learn about friendship under her tutelage. Starlight accepted, becoming Twilight's student and a resident of the Castle of Friendship.

Her tail, originating from her dock, is smooth, flowing, and well-groomed, mirroring the gentle wave of her mane with a sleek and polished appearance. It features a dominant moderate purple base color, complemented by two highlight streaks that run seamlessly through its length. These streaks consist of a lighter purple and a pale light, grayish aquamarine, positioned adjacent to each other. Her eye color is persian blue. On her flank, Starlight bears a cutie mark of a purple and white star, accompanied by two two-toned blue glimmering streams. Her unicorn horn is also a color of heliotrope.
