Starfire, whose Tamaranean name is Koriand’r, was born a princess of Tamaran, a distant alien world. She was raised among royal expectations, political conflict & the warrior traditions of her people. Her relationship with her older sister, Blackfire, became deeply troubled through jealousy, betrayal & competing claims to power. Eventually, Starfire was captured by the alien Gordanians & held against her will. She eventually escaped, reaching Earth & finding herself in Jump City.

There, she encountered the young heroes who would become her family, the Teen Titans. Through her experiences on Earth, she developed a deep affection for humanity, discovering friendship, belonging & a home beyond her own planet. Now 25, Starfire is a more experienced superhero who has grown into her strength, confidence & royal responsibilities without losing her warmth or curiosity.
