Stardew valley’s Most Eligible Bachelors: Valentine’s day– Elliott By Sparrow
Spring was the season of new growth and blooming romance in Stardew Valley. The grass was growing lush across the valley, baby birds were hatching, and flowers began to spring up as the trees regrew their leaves. Valentine’s Day was the most romantic day of the year, rivaled only by the Flower Dance—a celebration of love and connection. Pelican Town, nestled by the coast, was quaint and charming. The weather was a little chilly, but the snow had finally melted. It was almost the ideal little town—a place where the mystery of the forests, deep mines filled with ore, wild mountains, a natural hot spring, and warm, sandy beaches coexisted. The cobblestone streets, cozy homes, and small businesses tucked between trees and flowering bushes added to the town's rustic charm. It was a place where everyone knew everyone, from the youngest child to the most eccentric old man. The entire town participated in and helped celebrate every holiday with an enthusiasm that made it feel like one big family. Birb, an attractive young woman with dark skin and curly hair tied in milk maid braids, ran the town’s hot spring and spa. She was also building an inn next to it, drawing new visitors to the area and boosting the local economy. Between Birb’s spa, the inn, and the Young Farmer’s exceptional produce and helpful nature, the town was blossoming. Though still quaint and small, tourism had become an important part of its charm. Mayor Lewis, an older man with a newsboy cap and mustache, had been busy preparing events for the town, including the newly introduced Love and Harvest Festival. The festival had quickly gained popularity, almost rivaling the Stardew Valley Faire. Over the week, various businesses held special sales, a farmer’s market saw merchants from all over, and tourists filled the streets. There were carnival games, food trucks, a kissing booth, a petting zoo, and even a greased pig competition. The event ended with a grand gala to celebrate the town’s hard work and the spirit of love. Linus, the town’s self-proclaimed wild man, was setting up a Valentine’s Day nature scavenger hunt with the wizard’s help. The two had proven a great team during the Spirit’s Eve maze, and now they were bringing their combined magic to the event. Linus wore a special red-leafed robe for the occasion, adding to the festive atmosphere. Rasmodius, the eccentric wizard with a long purple beard, glided around in silk robes and brewed birth control potions for the couples. The wizard rarely left his tower except for town events, and this festival was no exception. Robin, the town carpenter with reddish hair and a muscular frame, was hard at work. She had created several wooden signs and decor for the event, selling them at the marketplace and Pierre’s shop. She also ran a special on love seats in her own shop. Marnie, an attractive middle-aged woman with a sturdy, soft build and long brown hair, focused on rabbits and their care items for the month. Marnie was practically skipping with excitement, as her boyfriend Marlin had asked her to dance at the upcoming event. Her niece, Jas, loved helping out. Jas was an adorable little girl with big eyes and curly black hair, she had been helping Grandma Evelyn make flower bouquets for the events. Jas decided that when she was a grown-up she would help run Marnie’s ranch and her little flower boutique, like the one she saw when she went into the city with Miss penny and the other children. Shane, now happier than ever to have left Joja Mart behind, had been busy running his Blue Chicken Brewery. He was preparing special spring flavors like strawberry ales and peanut butter whiskey, and also setting up a petting zoo. He had even planned a special daddy-daughter date with Jas—taking her to the city to pick out a new dress and have her hair done for the gala. He’d even bought a new suit for the occasion. Sam, Sebastian, and Abigail had been busy as well. Sam, a young blonde skater boy, was writing romantic songs for their band to perform at the festival. Sebastian, the pale young man with dark hair, was preparing a romantic one-shot for his TTRPG game night. Abigail, petite and pale young woman with bright purple hair, spent time playing dating simulator games instead of her usual adventure and arcade games. Penny, the friendly schoolteacher with ginger hair, held a seminar on the history of Valentine’s Day. She worked alongside Leah, who ran a card-making class. Leah, a taller woman with wavy shoulder-length red hair, was excited to try something new. Over at the Star Drop Saloon, Gus, the portly tavern owner with a big mustache, prepared romantic dishes all week long, like death by chocolate and steak dinners, with oysters and other aphrodisiacs. Gus was grateful for the extra help, as food trucks from the city also participated in the festivities. Normally he was the one who prepared all the food in the valley. Pierre, the bespectacled shopkeeper, ran a special on roses, chocolates, and cards. He even took the day off to spend time with his wife, Caroline. Caroline, a beautiful woman with green hair, brewed special tea blends for the farmer’s market, including lover’s leap green tea and herbal kismet. She also put together gift bags for the homeless shelter in Zuzu City. Pam, the blonde bus driver, decorated her bus with heart-shaped window clings. She also looked forward to meeting new people as she was eager to move on from her ex-husband. Gunther, the mysterious curator with a fancy goatee and cowboy hat, set up a display of romance novels. Harvey, the young doctor with thick glasses and neatly parted brown hair, handed out heart-shaped bandages and lollipops to his patients. Maru, a biracial scientist with pink glasses, created a machine to test couples’ love compatibility, which became a hit. George, the grumpy yet soft-hearted older man in a wheelchair, brought his wife Evelyn a rose quartz necklace he had Clint craft for her. Clint, the heavy-set blacksmith, had been busy forging rings and other jewelry for the occasion and even demonstrated blacksmithing techniques at the farmer’s market. Willy, the rugged fisherman, decorated his boat with heart-shaped garland, started using a heart-shaped bobber, and sold shellfish and more heart bobbers at a stand. Emily, the cute girl with blue bobbed hair, was busy altering dresses and hemming things for the dance. Sandy, her curvaceous best friend from the Oasis, would be attending the dance with her. Haley, Emily’s younger sister, had been busy photographing everything for the town’s newspaper and couldn’t wait for the dance since Alex had officially asked her out this year. Alex, the broad-shouldered young man, had also been working at the town’s Defense Division and kept a watchful eye on the alcohol tent. Throughout all the events, the farmer placed roses at their grandfather’s shrine. Meanwhile, Jodi and Kent were off on a romantic holiday, the first one since Kent’s return from military service. Or really ever. They were paying Penny, to watch Vincent for the week, Vincent, who was living for Miss Penny’s constant attention Elliott, is an attractive young man with long, wavy auburn hair and is typically very well dressed. He has been busy all Winter writing several short romance stories, as his publisher said it was important to produce stories that go song with the holidays, not to mention he was living for it as a hopeless romantic. Some of the stories he wrote included: The Dew in Her Eyes; The Fisherman’s Wife; The Mermaid’s Tear; and, The Princess Who Fell in Love with Dragon. He released it in a special collection on the first of Spring. Krobus, is a kind and mysterious Shadow person who has a shop in the sewer. On top of his usual products, such as the occasional fish, void eggs, wizard catalogs, piles of slimes and bat wings, solar and void essences, and star-drops, among other things. Once the farmer told him about the Love and Harvest festival, he decided to participate in the fun by temporarily adding some new stock during the week: Shadow Rose (A rare, dark purple rose that emits a soft glow in the moonlight. Said to symbolize eternal love in the shadow realm); Obsidian Heart ( A heart-shaped stone, cool to the touch, representing deep and unwavering devotion); Void Chocolate (A pitch-black chocolate bar made from rare shadow cocoa beans. It tastes surprisingly rich and smooth, with a hint of mystery); Spectral Candle ( A flickering candle imbued with shadow magic. Its flame never goes out, perfect for setting a moody, romantic atmosphere); Lost Love Letter (An old, tattered letter written in an unknown language. Krobus won’t say where he got it, but it feels filled with longing); and Eclipse Pendant (A beautifully crafted pendant with a dark gem at its center. A gift that signifies love that endures through both light and darkness).
