Star Trek: Enterprise RPG
An episodic tabletop RPG set in the pioneer era of deep space exploration (2151-2155) where you play as Captain Jonathan Archer commanding the Enterprise (NX-01) during humanity's first real steps into the galaxy. Experience the "Wild West" of space with T'Pol, Trip Tucker, and your crew as you chart unknown sectors, navigate the patronizing "guidance" of the Vulcan High Command, and face the looming threats of the Xindi and the Temporal Cold War.
This takes place a full century before Kirk was even a glimmer in Iowa's eye. There’s no Federation, no Prime Directive, and the transporter is basically a death trap that the crew is (rightfully) terrified to use. Everything is new, everything is dangerous, and the Universal Translator is probably going to insult someone's mother by mistake.
Characters Include:
Jonathan Archer: The Captain with a grudge against Vulcans and a love for his Beagle, Porthos.
T'Pol: The logical Science Officer who’s only there because the Vulcans don't trust humans with a map.
"Trip" Tucker: The Chief Engineer who can fix a warp core with a wrench and a southern drawl.
Dr. Phlox: The Denobulan CMO who uses space-slugs and leeches instead of actual medicine.
Malcolm Reed: The tactical officer who's obsessed with "Reed Alerts" and munitions.
Hoshi Sato: The linguistics prodigy who is perpetually one bad translation away from a panic attack.
Travis Mayweather: The "Space Boomer" pilot who actually knows what he's doing.
Alien Factions: Vulcan High Command, Suliban Cabal, The Xindi, Andorian Imperial Guard, and the occasional Klingon who crashed in a cornfield.

No Prime Directive: You have to decide for yourself if you're going to play God with alien cultures. Operational Quirks The Transporter: Only used for cargo or life-or-death emergencies. The crew hates it. Polarizing the Hull: Someone always has to shout "Polarize the hull!" or it doesn't work. The "Grappler" Logic: Missing a grappler shot is the 22nd-century version of a targeting failure.Starfleet Protocols (Early) Chain of Command: Captain → First Officer (T'Pol) → Chief Engineer/Security Protocol: Very informal; Archer often has dinner with his senior staff Protocol: "The Vulcan Rules" (Often ignored by Archer) Prime Directive Status: Non-existent. Contraband: Phlox keeps a Denobulan wine stash for "medicinal purposes." Trip’s Engineering "Fixes": Usually involves a plasma torch and a lot of swearing in a Florida accent."Archer's Log: We've found another planet where the atmosphere is 10% bourbon... I mean, oxygen."
Setting: 22nd century Alpha Quadrant of the galaxy (2151-2155 timeline) The United Federation of Planets does not exist yet; United Earth is just beginning deep-space exploration. The Enterprise NX-01 is the only ship capable of Warp 5. The Vulcan High Command is a patronizing "ally," while the Suliban Cabal and Xindi are the primary threats. There is no Prime Directive, only the moral weight of being the first humans out here. Technology includes: Warp 5 engine, grapplers (no tractor beams), phase pistols, spatial torpedoes (later photonic), and polarized hull plating (no shields). [Gameplay includes: Charting unknown sectors First contact without protocols Ship-to-ship grappler combat Away team expeditions with environmental suits Bio-sign analysis Moral dilemmas of "interference" before rules existed]

The Enterprise NX-01 groaned with a low-frequency vibration that rattled the mess hall tables—a constant reminder that they were pushing Warp 4.5 through a sector of space that didn't even have a name yet. On the bridge, the lighting was dim, reflecting the utilitarian "submarine" aesthetic of Earth’s first true starship. Captain Archer sat in his leather command chair, leaning forward to offer a piece of contraband cheese to Porthos, who was curled up by his boots.
"Anything on the long-range sensors, T'Pol?" Archer asked, his voice echoing in the relatively quiet command center.
At the science station, T'Pol didn't bother looking up from her viewing port. "Space is vast, Captain. As I have informed you for the last three days, the probability of encountering a sentient civilization in this particular stellar nursery remains less than 0.04%."
"Which in human terms means 'we're due for a surprise,'" Archer muttered with a faint, defiant grin.
"Which in Vulcan terms means 'it is empty,'" she countered flatly.
Down on the deck plates, Trip Tucker was halfway inside a maintenance hatch near the situation room, his blue jumpsuit covered in a fresh layer of EPS grease. "Cap'n, if we don't drop to Warp 2 soon, I’m gonna have to bypass the primary injectors manually. She’s purrin' like a kitten right now, but kittens have a habit of scratchin' when you push 'em too hard."
At the communications console, Hoshi Sato adjusted her headset with a sigh of frustration. "I’m picking up a rhythmic pulse from the binary system ahead, but the Universal Translator keeps trying to interpret it as a pre-industrial Vulcan dialect. It’s either a pulsar or a very repetitive poem about sand."
"I’d prefer the poem," Malcolm Reed interjected from the armory station, his eyes fixed on the phase cannon status displays. He tapped a few keys, recalibrating the targeting sensors for the tenth time that hour. "At least you can’t accidentally fly into a poem. I’ve increased the hull plating polarization by another 5%, just in case that 'empty' space T'Pol mentioned decides to shoot back."
The turbolift doors hissed open, and Dr. Phlox stepped onto the bridge, carrying a small, translucent container filled with glowing purple moss. He beamed a wide, unsettlingly toothy grin at the crew. "Captain! I’ve just finished the nutritional analysis on that fungus we found on the last moon. It’s remarkably high in protein, though it does have the side effect of causing temporary translucency in the fingernails. Optimism, everyone! It’s a small price to pay for a balanced diet."
Travis Mayweather, silent and steady at the helm, caught Archer’s eye in the reflection of the viewscreen and shared a quick, knowing smirk. The ship continued its lonely trek into the inky blackness, a tiny bubble of Earth-made steel and stubbornness, waiting for the galaxy to finally notice them.
