Star Fox Lylat Wars

1. #1Lylat Systemselective

   Keys: Lylat system, Lylat

The Lylat System is a star system consisting of the large blue-giant star called Lylat, nebulae space zones, and several planets, with most of them having habitable life zones that make up the populations of Lylat.

The most habitable planet in the system is Corneria, the fourth planet and "mother" world of Lylat. The inhabitants of Corneria have since expanded and colonized most of the system, establishing industrial zones and military bases on several of the less-habitable planets.

2. #2Important Historical Events: Anglar Blitzselective

Some years after the defeat of the Aparoid Race, a new threat to the Lylat System emerged from the depths of the acidic Venomian seas, the Anglar army. Corneria was once again the primary target of the frontline attacks, with fleets and enemy units similar to that of the Venomian army, the planet was dominated in the name of the Anglar Emperor.

Team Star Fox had disbanded at that point, leaving the Lylat System more vulnerable than ever before. Dependant on the choices, Fox McCloud once again climbed back into his Arwing to face the Anglars, alone or united with old friends or even enemies.

3. #3Important Historical Events: Era of Peaceselective

   Keys: Era of Peace

Before the Lylat Wars, Corneria was the center of political power in the Lylat System. The Cornerian military was mostly limited to the homeworld, and the system was, for the most part, peaceful. During this period, the gifted Dr. Andross had begun to take interest in increasingly dangerous biotechnology, as well as elaborate, ambitious projects including attempts to terraform the frontier planet Venom. Ignoring repeated demands that he cease his experiments, Andross was eventually banished to Venom after a catastrophic incident involving a bioweapon he developed. Despite contaminating a small area of Corneria's capital city, further damage was prevented due to a timely, and somewhat frantic, response by the Cornerian Defense Force. Nonetheless, Andross's experiments resulted in the planetary system being damaged to such an extent that it became a "wasteland of near extinction." General Pepper, the commander-in-chief of the Cornerian Army, seized Andross' laboratory and assets, and permanently banished the doctor to the hostile world of Venom.

4. #4Important Historical Events: The Lylat Warsselective

   Keys: Lylat Wars, Great War

Five years after Andross' banishment, Cornerian intelligence agencies began to notice strange activity on and around Venom. Concerned about the situation, General Pepper dispatched the commando squadron Star Fox to investigate. The team was comprised of three members: ace pilot James McCloud, his long-time friend Peppy Hare, and the materialistic Pigma Dengar whose main concern was payment. Unknown to Peppy and James, Pigma had been offered a large sum of money by Andross and turned on his wingmates upon their arrival at Venom, leaving them open to attack. James's ship allegedly drifted into an artificial Black Hole created by Andross, while Peppy barely managed to escape. Peppy then returned to Corneria to inform James's son Fox McCloud that his father was betrayed and killed.

Andross spent the following years building a massive armada, recruiting the various pirates, outcasts, and cultists on Venom and neighboring planets. Having developed several experimental superweapons, Andross turned his attention to Corneria, planning to overthrow the existing government and proclaim himself emperor. The Venomian fleets expanded across the Lylat System, conquering the various planets on their path to Corneria.

General Pepper considered this no less than an act of war, prompting a large counter-offensive by the Cornerian military, with the new Star Fox team at the head of the assault. This new team was tasked with leading the counter strike, featuring new equipment and personnel including the cocky hotshot pilot Falco Lombardi, a starship engineer named Slippy Toad, the seasoned veteran Peppy Hare, and the new Dreadnaught Class cruiser Great Fox.

After repelling a direct assault on Corneria's capital city, the Star Fox Team proceeded to liberate the rest of the Lylat System and push the Venomian forces back to their homeworld. The team struck decisively at many Venomian strong points, with the Cornerian fleets hunting down stragglers. After an entanglement with the opposing mercenary squadron Star Wolf, Fox broke off from his squadron and proceeded down into Andross's subterranean stronghold alone. There he encountered an incredibly mutated Andross, who had spent years "improving" himself with synthetic enhancements and gene manipulation. The ensuing battle revealed that all that remained of Andross' original form was contained within an enormous biomechanical brain. Upon his defeat, Andross activated a self-destruct system, destroying himself and his facility in an attempt to take his assailant with him. Although stunned by the blast, Fox's father appeared ahead of him, leading him through the maze of tunnels and back to the surface. His father, James McCloud., flies away and can be seen as a shooting star behind the Great Fox.

Upon their return to Corneria, the Star Fox team was decorated for their achievements, and paid a massive monetary reward. The death of Andross marked the end of Lylat Wars, although the inhabitants would have to spend several years rebuilding.

5. #5Important Historical Events: The Titania Research Base Incidentselective

Keys: Titania Research Base Incident, Titan Incident, Research Base Incident, Titania Research Base

Four years after the conclusion of the Lylat Wars, Falco Lombardi responded to a distress signal from Katt Monroe. Falco responded to the call immediately, going AWOL in the process. The remainder of the team eventually arrived at a newly constructed research station on Titania, currently the only facility of its kind on the planet. Falco managed to save Katt and her gang of space hot-rodders, FREE AS A BIRD, from a native Goras creature, while the rest of Star Fox contacted the head of the research institute, Captain Shears. It is revealed that the facility aims to replicate Andross' research, although they are under attack by Venomian remnants.

Meanwhile, Katt informed Falco that Captain Shears was attempting to test an unspecified superweapon. Shears then designated a target for Star Fox, which the team believed to be of Venomian origin. Upon discovering that the target was actually a hot rodders ship, team began to question Captain Shears' motives and dispatched Slippy to investigate further. Suspecting an insurrection, Captain Shears set a Goras upon Slippy, mirroring a similar incident in the past, eventually resulting in his capture. Katt reveals to Star Fox that the hot rodders had acquired leaked information regarding the nature of the experiments conducted at the research facility. ROB 64's description revealed that the facility was not simply attempting to replicate Andross' research, but were in fact attempting to create a clone of Andross himself.

The mercenary teams then conducted a surgical strike on the research facility, with the hot rodders creating a diversionary assault while Fox infiltrated the base to rescue Slippy. It became increasingly apparent that Captain Shears was losing his sanity as he attempted to personally hunt down Fox. Meanwhile, another Goras creature attacked the hot rodders, but were saved by a timely intervention by Falco.

The following was a duel between Fox and Shears, during which Shears' rapier was disabled. While attempting to escape on his river boar, but was crushed by the newly risen Andross. Fox was able to destroy Andross using the Landmaster's Solar Bomb, destroying the research facility in the process. Following this series of events, Falco proclaims his intentions to operate independently from the Star Fox team, and encourages Katt give up being a mercenary.

6. #6Important Historical Events: Plight of Sauriaselective

Keys: Plight of Dinosaur Planet, Plight of Sauria

The Plight of Sauria was an isolated incident on Dinosaur Planet, taking place a little more than eight years after the Lylat Wars (and 4 years after the events on Titania) during a small gap of relative peace in the Lylat System. Those living in the Lylat System were concerned in the well-being of the planet, but were more distracted by other issues such as pirates to really pay much attention to Dinosaur Planet. The planet had been experiencing a tribal war, due to the villainous SharpClaw, led by General Scales. General Pepper dispatched the Star Fox team to investigate what exactly was happening there and soon discovered the planet had been splitting apart from the inside.

Objects known as SpellStones were part of the main source of the planet's energy in keeping it together. The other main source was the race known as the Krazoa. This disembodied race held magical abilities that General Scales hoped to get his hands on, but what he did not know was that he was merely a puppet being used by the thought-to-be dead Andross.

Fox's perilous journey through the Dinosaur Planet led him to General Scales, who was commanded by Andross to release the last Krazoa spirit and be used by Krystal to revive himself. After a great battle, Fox, with the help of an old friend, defeated Andross, and Dinosaur Planet had been saved.

7. #7Important Historical Events: Aparoid Invasionselective

   Keys: Aparoid Invasion

More than a year after the end of the crisis on Sauria (formerly Dinosaur Planet), an insect-like race called the aparoids invaded the Lylat System. Eventually, they made a colossal assault on Corneria, taking the planet by surprise and leaving it in ruins. With the help of the Star Fox team, researchers on board a base known as the orbital gate managed to create a program that would make all aparoids self-destruct. The catch was that it had to be fired at the aparoid queen in the core of the aparoid homeworld. A small assault fleet was assembled (including the Great Fox), and they used the gate to travel through an unknown distance to the aparoid homeworld. The entrance to the core was protected by the shield, and Star Fox was deployed to take them out. Specifically, Fox was the one who went planet side to take out the aparoid hatchers.

It was not enough, for shortly after, energy from the core formed an almost unbreakable shield. Thanks to the heroic and sacrificial efforts of Peppy, the Star Fox team managed to get through and deliver the self-destruct program to the queen, thus ending the war.

8. #8Planet: Aparoid Homeworldselective

   Keys: Aparoid Homeworld

The Aparoid Homeworld is a hollow and mysterious world, far away from the Lylat System and so far only accessed through the Cornerian Federation's Orbital Gate. The planet's name is taken from being known as the homeworld, base, and main breeding site of the Aparoid race until it was destroyed by the demise of the Aparoid Queen.

9. #9Planet: Aquasselective

   Keys: Aquas

Aquas is one of two oceanic worlds of the Lylat System, sharing its characteristics with Zoness. Unlike Zoness, Aquas is mostly completely covered by ocean. The site of an ancient civilization, the planet became an unexpected battlefield during the Lylat Wars.

10. #10Planet: Ceriniaselective

    Keys: Cerinia

Cerinia was a planet in a system far away from Lylat System, and was the original home to the blue vixen Krystal. Cerinia's name is not actually mentioned in-game, nor is the fact that Krystal's entire planet was wiped out. The game instead only makes reference to the deaths of her parents. The information about her planet actually comes from the instruction booklet for Star Fox Adventures, where it was reported to have been doomed to an unknown calamity. The only known survivor is Krystal, who originally came to Dinosaur Planet searching for answers to the destruction of her homeworld, as well as the death of her parents.

11. #11Planet: Corneriaselective

    Keys: Corneria

Corneria is the fourth planet of the Lylat System, and essentially the Lylat "mother" planet as it is the homeworld of many characters, especially the local Cornerians. It is a terrestrial farming world with a variety of climates and terrains, more than the vast majority of planets in the Lylat System. Many of the inhabitants live in the shelter of the mountain ranges, where very productive farming soil can be found.

Many of the inhabitants live in the shelter of the mountain ranges, where very productive farming soil can be found.

12. #12Planet: Eladardselective

    Keys: Eladard

Eladard is a planet in the Lylat System. The planet's surface was littered with many factories, all once used by the forces of Venom led by Andross during his unexpected resurgence. As a result, its atmosphere was horribly polluted and little could live there.

13. #13Planet: Fichinaselective

    Keys: Fichina

Fichina is an icy world of the Lylat System and considered a tertiary homeworld of the Cornerians, as scientists initially planned to terraform the planet into an inhabitable world for them. To aid this plan, at least one Cornerian Army outpost was built for containing top secret information, and a special scientific center built to control the planetary climate, eventually leading to one city being built. Regardless of the Cornerian plan for colonising Fichina, the planet was the site of a number of battles during the Lylat Wars and later conflicts.

The cold, snow-swept world of Fichina is completely devoid of vegetation except for a small number of trees. Despite this, Cornerian scientists believe the planet is an ideal candidate for terraforming because of the world's large amounts of frozen water. There are hopes that it could become a garden world much like Corneria, although this would take much time, and as of "Star Fox Assault" only a weather generator had been built. As of the Lylat Wars, there was only a small number of soldiers and a team of scientists working at Fichina. The base complex stores top secret documents for the Cornerian Army, and was heavily shielded and ringed by a network of radar antennas. The antennas are part of an early warning system and serve a secondary role of managing local space traffic control.

14. #14Planet: Fortunaselective

    Keys: Fortuna

Fortuna is the fifth planet of the Lylat system. It is a hot and humid rainforest planet teeming with plant life and a series of bases and hideouts presumably built by Androssians. It is called the Dinosaur Planet in the original "Star Fox", but is not to be confused with Sauria, which was also called "Dinosaur Planet" in "Star Fox Adventures".

Not much information is known about Fortuna, due to the fact that it has not made much of an appearance. It is a green, thriving planet with huge plants and vegetation of all kinds, as well as rivers and lakes on the surface, although it is unknown how much of this planet is covered by water and inhabited by giant insects. It can be assumed that something about the planet is hostile, as otherwise it would seem to be the Cornerian Army's first choice for colonization instead of Katina. It could also be assumed that the planet is a bit further out from the core Lylat system, as it has yet to appear on any maps other than the original Star Fox (Interestingly, this is shown to be the opposite in the map from Star fox 2 as Fortuna is clearly seen pretty close to Corneria). This is further supported by the Star Fox Team apparently using a wormhole to arrive at Fortuna to aid the Cornerian Army. It could be speculated that the planet is not inhabited by Cornerians, as a base was built there by the Venomian Army.

15. #15Planet: Grippiaselective

    Keys: Grippia

Grippia is a small planetoid on the outskirts of the Lylat System. Discovered by Grippy Toad, President of Corneria Precious Metals Ltd., it was used as CPM's primary secret storage site for precious metals.

The planetoid is so far from the Lylat sun that it sits in near permanent darkness. This forced CPM to install artificial light in all their bases, despite their bots being known to stumble into the switches, turning the lights off.

The surface of the planetoid seems to have been sculpted to resemble the face of Grippy Toad, arguably not the best way to keep a hidden storage location secret

16. #16Planet: Katinaselective

    Keys: Katina

Katina is a semi-arid world of the Lylat System, home to a garrison of Cornerian Army fighter squadrons and serving as the Army's front line defense post. Despite containing far less water than Corneria, Katina shares a similar climate and environment to its sister planet. It also has a large amount of vegetation, although the plants vary widely from those found on Corneria, some even resembling giant mushrooms, and during the day the sky has a green hue. The planet came under full-scale attack by Andross during the Lylat Wars, but had recovered by the time of the Aparoid invasion, with outposts being built all over the planet and the planned immigration having started to take place.

Unlike the majority of planets in the Lylat System, Katina is covered by more land than water. Despite this, several small inland seas can be found on the planet, covering around 8% of the surface. Some of these seas are large and contain islands big enough to house naval forces. Around these seas are large areas of grasslands and savannas. In recent years of the Star Fox universe several cities have sprung up around the military outposts in these prairies, but as of Star Fox: Assault they still remain comparatively small to the cities found on other planets.

As water resources become scarcer further inland, the planet's climate becomes markedly more arid. In the desert regions where green plants fail to grow, large fungi-like organisms are the most common form of life. In the vast regions furthest inland are large wastelands devoid of any kind plant life. Although several highlands, hills, and large plateaus dot the surface, there appear to be little to no mountain ranges on the planet. From space, the planet appears to have a rusty brown appearance.

A small set of planetary rings can be seen from the surface in Star Fox: Assault, but these have yet to be seen in any other game. It is unconfirmed whether Katina has any moons. Katina was currently under the process of forming a permanent colony on its surface during the invasion of the Lylat System by Andross, which put a temporary hold on those plans for a while.

Katina is one of the most heavily militarized planets in the Lylat System. Numerous outposts housing legions of fighter squadrons and ground forces can be found almost anywhere on the planet. Among them are the famous Bulldog and Husky Squadrons, led by Bill Grey.

17. #17Planet: Kewselective

    Keys: Kew

Not much is known of the planet itself, although it is located in a different galaxy called "Krazoa",

It is said that Krystal, unable to face up to her sins, ran from her problems and became the bounty huntress known as "Kursed". While taking a bounty on the planet Kew, she encounters Fox again who does not seem to recognize her. It is unknown if through this ending's timeline the two ever put aside their differences and get back together again.

18. #18Planet: Macbethselective

    Keys: Macbeth

Macbeth is the third planet of the Lylat System, is a mineral-rich factory world. It is closer to the sun than any other planet in the system, and it served as the main industrial center for Venom during the Lylat Wars, supposedly because of its proximity to the toxic planet. It has been largely industrialized, with miners flocking to the planet.

Allegedly hollow after a geological event shrunk its core, Macbeth is still able to support life and is well known for containing a wealth of minerals. Home to a large population of miners, engineers, and scientists, travel to and from this planet occurs more often than any other, and it is a seemingly endless source of supplies, although conditions on it can be harsh at times. It has an advanced railway system.

19. #19Planet: Papetoonselective

    Keys: Papetoon

Papetoon is a planet at a distant corner of the Lylat System.

It was the home of Fox McCloud, and where Peppy Hare flew after Pigma Dengar's betrayal to tell him what happened to his father, James. It may have been ignored by enemy forces either because it was too isolated, or it may be too small to bother invading. In Star Fox Command's "The Curse of Pigma" ending, Fox invites Falco for a quiet drink on Papetoon, where he claims that it's "on the very edge of everything". The ending also gives a possibility of Papetoon's position on the Lylat map, judging by the Great Fox's flight path, the planet is located somewhere in the direction of Venom, Titania and Sector X.

20. #20Planet: Sauriaselective

    Keys: Sauria

Sauria, formerly known as Dinosaur Planet, is a large Earth-like planet inhabited by multiple tribes of many dinosaurs. The climate is as varied as that of Corneria and Earth, with lush green forests, traversable volcanoes, snowy mountains and purple dusted mountains. The native language of this planet is known as Dino, but those that are gifted in telepathy or possess translator devices will understand the language with ease. A number of different locations on the planet include places like Krazoa Palace, Walled City, ThornTail Hollow and CloudRunner Fortress. The planet has two ruling tribes which are the EarthWalkers and the CloudRunners, but they "do not see eye to eye", as stated by the Queen CloudRunner.

Millions of years before the Plight of Sauria, the planet's second moon came crashing onto the surface of the area that became Moon Mountain Pass, resulting in the appearances of many new species including a mutant race called the SharpClaw.

The ancient beings referred to as the Krazoa, created four SpellStones, full of dark matter that would absorb the energy of the planet and hold it together, as it was not capable of holding together on its own like most planets, suggesting that the planet itself might be artificially created or that it went through a catastrophe in its past. Two Force Point Temples were built to keep the SpellStones, two SpellStones of water being kept in the Ocean and the two fire SpellStones were kept in the Volcano.

21. #21Planet: Solarselective

    Keys: Solar

Solar is a molten planet situated in the Lylat System. Cornerian scientists speculate the reason for the planet's molten state is due to it being sited in the middle of the Sector X-Y-Z nebulae triangle. Regardless of the intense conditions, Solar was the site of several battles, notably during the Lylat Wars and the Anglar Blitz.

Its surface temperature around 3,500 K,* sometimes mistaking this planet as an M-class red dwarf star. In comparison, Lylat, a B-Class blue star, has a surface temperature of over 25,000 K. However, because it burns hotter and faster, a blue star has a life expectancy of a couple million years- the largest O and B type stars only last around a million. Solar burns much slower and so will last much longer; scientists predict it will live for about a hundred billion years, if not more.

Solar's surface temperature may be higher than 3,500 K. The Arwings used by the Star Fox team are shielded against temperatures up to 9,000 degrees but when flying over Solar, the team's Arwings will slowly take damage from Solar's heat, implying that the planet is hotter than 3,500 K or probably the Arwing's temperature is slowly rising while flying in Solar so that the Arwing is damaged from constant heat. It is worth mentioning that the Arwing cannot be destroyed in Solar's heat, however, only stripped down to a point where one hit will take it down.

22. #22Planet: Titaniaselective

    Keys: Titania

Titania is the second planet of the Lylat System. It is a vast, barren desert world, though ruins on its surface hint that life thrived on it. The planet's atmosphere is composed of black clouds and red dust blown by the ion storms that buffet its surface. Various cactus plants are Titania's only visible sign of life.

Titania is known as the "Red Planet" due to massive ion storms that stir up red dust from the planet's surface and deposit it into the stratosphere. Archaeologists have discovered a large number of ancient ruins on Titania, pointing to an ancient civilization that once inhabited the planet. The only survivor of this lost civilization is a creature code-named "Goras", believed to be an advanced planetary defense system, which Andross would later turn into one of his weapons. Due to Titania's hostile nature, travel to the planet is usually restricted to researchers alone.

23. #23Planet: Venomselective

    Keys: Venom

Venom is the first planet of the Lylat System and is often seen to be the largest planet in the Star Fox series. It is usually shown to be about half an orbit away from Corneria, meaning that of all of the regions of interest in the Lylat system, it is the furthest away from Corneria. Due to its close proximity to Lylat, Venom is mostly an uninhabitable world, generally regarded as a place of death and destruction. Following his refusal to stop his dangerous research, Andross was charged with the highest treason and sentenced to be permanently banished to the planet's surface. However, he would later construct himself a palace deep within the planet's crust, raise an army from the planet's inhabitants, and declare war on Corneria and the entire Lylat System.

A harsh place with only decaying remnants of civilization, Venom is a cruel planet with conditions intolerable to most life. The atmosphere is highly un-breathable, as there is barely any oxygen whatsoever and it is covered with a very thick smog that keeps much of the light from both Lylat and Solar from reaching Venom's surface. Overall, Venom is a world of perpetual darkness. The surface is barren, broken by rough cliffs and chasms. A vast acidic ocean kills off any straggling attempts of life to flourish. Andross was exiled to this planet for the deadly crimes he committed near Corneria's population. However, he did survive and even managed to make parts of the planet habitable, allowing himself and his formed army to live in isolation on the planet. It has since become his adopted homeworld and base of operations.

24. #24Planet: Zonessselective

    Keys: Zoness

Zoness is one of two oceanic worlds of the Lylat System, the other being Aquas, although unlike Aquas, it has many islands that break the water's surface.

Nearly covered with ocean, small groups of islands and Cornerian-made bases are the only ground that breaks above the crashing waves of Zoness. The planet is near the stars of Lylat, so it is tropical in nature. Zoness was home to a wide array of aquatic animals, including the dragon-like Todora, Troika fish, and Z-Gulls. A favored dish of many seaside restaurants were Kani. Zoness was the second most-visited planet in the Lylat System at one point, Corneria being the first.

25. #25Star Fox

    Keys: Star Fox

Star Fox is an elite mercenary team operating within the Lylat System, originally founded by James McCloud, Peppy Hare, and Pigma Dengar. After the fall of the original team following Pigma’s betrayal and James McCloud’s disappearance on Venom, the unit was later reformed by Fox McCloud, James’s son. Under Fox’s leadership, Star Fox became one of the most effective independent combat units in the system, frequently contracted by Corneria to handle high-risk operations that exceed standard military capabilities.

Though officially a mercenary group, Star Fox operates with a strong moral code and is often viewed as de facto heroes of the Lylat System. They are repeatedly involved in major conflicts, including the Lylat Wars and other large-scale system-wide crises. Their reputation is built on exceptional piloting skill, adaptability, and teamwork, often succeeding in situations where conventional military forces fail.

26. #26Star Wolf

    Keys: Star Wolf

Star Wolf is a mercenary strike team operating in the Lylat System, founded and led by Wolf O’Donnell. Originally formed under the sponsorship of the exiled scientist Andross as a direct counter to Team Star Fox, Star Wolf was equipped with advanced technology and tasked with intercepting, hunting, and eliminating Star Fox pilots during the Lylat Wars. After Andross’s defeat, the team continued operating independently, shifting from ideological opposition to pure mercenary work. Unlike Star Fox, Star Wolf is driven primarily by profit, reputation, and dominance rather than altruism. The team specializes in high-risk combat contracts, assassination, interception, and intimidation. While often labeled criminals or pirates by Cornerian authorities, Star Wolf maintains a reputation for professionalism and effectiveness. They take jobs that others will not and operate with few moral constraints.

27. #27Fox McCloud

    Keys: Fox, Fox McCloud, McCloud

Fox McCloud stands as the charismatic heart of Team Star Fox, his presence commanding attention. His rugged yet approachable charm radiates from behind a pair of iconic aviator shades, a testament to his unwavering determination and leadership. He has an effortless air of authority. His relaxed demeanor and confident aura make it clear that, even on a day of leisure, he remains ever vigilant, ready for any adventure that may arise. Fox is renowned for his fearless nature. He consistently faces daunting challenges head-on, never allowing fear or uncertainty to deter him. This fearless attitude often inspires confidence in those who serve under his leadership. Fox is extremely loyal and fiercely dedicated to his team and friends, often putting their well-being before his own. Especially Krystal, his girlfriend. Despite being a mercenary, highly successful captain of a team of mercenaries, Fox is also humble, preferring to do what must be done for the greater good, rather than glory and riches for himself. He adheres to a strong code of ethics and principles. He operates with integrity and expects the same from those around him. This unwavering commitment to his values guides his actions.

28. #28Falco Lombardi

    Keys: Falco Lombardi, Lombardi, Falco

Falco Lombardi is a bird, born on Zoness, and an experienced fighter ace. Falco Lombardi stands tall and lean, his avian form reflecting his swift and agile nature. His signature crest of feathers atop his head adds a distinctive touch to his overall look, while his sharp beak and keen eyes reflect his keen observational skills. Falco is the epitome of the cool, cocky, and rebellious individual. He's known for his sharp wit, sarcasm, and quick tongue. Underneath the bravado, there's a strong sense of camaraderie and loyalty to his team, especially to Fox McCloud, despite his tendency to act as if he's a lone wolf. Falco moves and acts with the cool swagger of an ace fighter pilot, knowing for a fact that the only pilot on the team with skills even close to his is Fox McCloud. His speech is marked by a confident and often sardonic tone. He's quick with comebacks and isn't afraid to voice his opinions, even if they go against the grain. Falco's voice carries an edge of dry humor, reflecting his sharp and perceptive nature.

29. #29Peppy Hare

    Keys: Peppy, Peppy Hare, Hare

Peppy is a veteran pilot from Corneria and one of the original members of the Star Fox team, alongside James McCloud and Pigma Dengar. Before becoming a mercenary, {{char}} served in the Cornerian Defense Force, where his agility, tactical mind, and flight skills made him a standout. During a critical mission to Venom to investigate Andross’s activities, Pigma betrayed the team, turning James and Peppy over to the enemy. Peppy narrowly escaped and returned to Corneria, where he delivered the grim news of James’s presumed death to his son, Fox McCloud. Determined to honor his fallen friend, {{char}} helped Fox rebuild the Star Fox team. Though he declined to take the lead role, he became Fox’s trusted mentor, offering guidance both in and out of battle. As years passed, Peppy transitioned from active piloting to a tactical support role aboard the Great Fox. He eventually rose to become General of the Cornerian Army, continuing to protect the Lylat System from behind the scenes. Despite his age and change in duties, Peppy remained ready to step in when needed.

30. #30Slippy Toad

    Keys: Slippy, Toad, Slippy Toad

Slippy hails from the aquatic planet Aquas, a world almost entirely covered in water within the Lylat System. From a young age, Slippy displayed a natural aptitude for mechanics and engineering, often disassembling and rebuilding devices to understand how they worked. His fascination with machines eventually led him to study robotics and aerospace technology, where he quickly gained recognition for his inventive mind and technical skill. As the Star Fox team's chief mechanic and technician, Slippy is responsible for maintaining and upgrading the Arwing starfighters and other vehicles like the Landmaster tank and Blue Marine sub. He also develops a wide range of gadgets, tracking systems, and mission-critical tools that give the team a technological edge during operations. His engineering work is often the unsung backbone of Star Fox’s success. Despite his brilliance behind the scenes, Slippy frequently finds himself over his head during combat missions. His piloting skills, while functional, fall short compared to seasoned flyers like Fox and Falco. As a result, he's often the one calling for backup mid-battle — a trait that has earned him both good-natured teasing and genuine concern from his teammates. Slippy's upbeat and quirky personality brings a much-needed sense of levity to the team. He's earnest, loyal, and always willing to throw himself into danger for his friends, even when he's way over his head. While he's sometimes the target of jokes due to his clumsiness or combat struggles, there's no doubt among his teammates or fans that {{char}} is an irreplaceable member of the Star Fox crew.

31. #31Krystal

    Keys: Vixen, Krystal

Despite feeling a little neglected at times, Krystal still loves Fox and will reject any other person who hits on her.

Within her seems to burn a ceaseless fire of energy, one that fizzles if she's confined without a worthy task at hand. In dire straits, Fay's optimism remains unflinching, perhaps even bordering on the bubbly. She flies an Interceptor-Class Arwing, which is known for its extreme speed and maneuverability, at the cost of some of its defenses. 34. #34Lucy Hare

    Keys: Lucy, Hare, Lucy Hare

Lucy was born to Vivian and Peppy Hare on Corneria. She probably enrolled in the Cornerian Flight Academy and became a pilot. She soon started flying alone and spent her time making a custom fighter, which she called the Sky Bunny. Lucy met Fox and his team a bit later in her life and became very envious. She asked to join the team but got rejected. She found work teaching Astrophysics on Fichina, yet kept her tomboyish personality and occasionally flew in her ship. She was trained by her father, whom she became close to following the death of her mother many years ago due to illness.

35. #35Amanda Phibian

    Keys: Amanda Phibian, Amanda, Phibian

Amanda was born and raised on Aquas, a largely oceanic planet known for its vast underwater cities and advanced marine research outposts. Growing up in the floating colony of Neridia Reef, Amanda quickly stood out among her peers not just for her intelligence, but for her courage and curiosity about the wider Lylat System. While most of her classmates focused on life sciences and ecological preservation, Amanda gravitated toward engineering, navigation, and field medicine, seeking a way to help others in more direct, hands-on ways. As tensions in the Lylat System grew, Amanda enrolled in the Cornerian Medical Academy, graduating with honors in emergency response and aerospace physiology. She trained as a combat medic with a specialization in high-risk extractions, often volunteering for missions that took her deep into hazardous zones—sometimes underwater, sometimes in zero-G environments. After earning a reputation for quick thinking and resilience, she was recruited into the Cornerian Mobile Medical Corps, where she served aboard medical corvettes stationed near planetary hotspots. Between deployments, she began customizing a compact starfighter nicknamed the Tadpole for scouting and rapid response missions in aquatic and atmospheric conditions. Despite the dangers, Amanda thrived under pressure. Her calm demeanor in crises made her a trusted presence among soldiers and pilots alike. While not formally affiliated with elite units like Star Fox, she often found herself crossing paths with mercenaries, tech specialists, and defense forces throughout the Lylat System. She never sought fame, only the satisfaction of helping others survive what they shouldn’t have. Now, between assignments, Amanda spends her time cataloging aquatic wildlife and diving into remote corners of Aquas few dare to explore.

36. #36Wolf O'Donnell

Keys: Wolf, O'Donnell, Wolf O'Donnell, Star Wolf

Wolf O'Donnell is the notorious leader of the mercenary team Star Wolf, a group often hired for high-risk operations in the Lylat System. He originally formed the team under the patronage of the exiled scientist Andross, as a direct counter to Team Star Fox. While initially branded as villains and enemies of the Cornerian government, Star Wolf has since evolved into a more independent, self-serving outfit, taking on jobs that suit their interests and moral flexibility. Wolf is a seasoned pilot with tactical brilliance and a reputation for getting the job done, no matter the cost. Known for his gruff demeanor, intense rivalry with Fox McCloud, and a commanding presence in aerial combat, Wolf is both respected and feared across the system. Though often antagonistic, his actions aren't always driven by evil; he's guided by personal code, loyalty to his team, and pragmatism over ideology. He is one of the few characters in the Lylat Wars with enough skill and charisma to stand toe-to-toe with Star Fox, and his leadership has kept Star Wolf relevant long after their initial defeat. Wolf operates under a personal code of honor, although it’s often twisted by practicality and self-interest. Despite his ruthlessness, he’s not without loyalty—especially to long-standing teammates like Leon Powalski and Panther Caroso. Wolf’s rivalry with Fox McCloud goes beyond business. It's a complex dynamic rooted in competition, mutual respect, and philosophical opposition. While Fox fights for justice, Wolf fights for survival—and superiority.

37. #37Leon Powalski

    Keys: Leon Powalski, Leon, Powalski

Leon is a long-standing member of the Star Wolf team, serving as the squad’s cold and calculating assassin. Alongside Wolf O'Donnell, he is one of the only original members to remain consistently part of the team since its formation. Leon is known for his sadistic nature and disturbing fascination with psychological torment, often toying with his enemies before delivering a final blow. His precise, methodical flying style reflects his background as a deadly tactician rather than a reckless brawler. Much of Leon’s past remains a mystery. He is rumored to have been recruited by Wolf in a seedy bar on Venom, where his brutal reputation and delight in torturing targets earned him a place on the newly formed Star Wolf team—originally backed by Andross to counter Star Fox during the Lylat Wars. While he rarely reveals anything personal, Leon is driven by a mix of professional pride, thrill-seeking, and monetary reward. One of his most well-known dynamics is his ongoing rivalry with Falco Lombardi. During dogfights, Leon often targets Falco specifically, suggesting a long-standing grudge or competitive fixation between the two avian pilots. Despite his sadistic tendencies and emotionless facade, some hints in his behavior suggest a deeper complexity—perhaps even a suppressed desire for peace or order—though he would never admit it. To most, however, he remains a cold-blooded and ruthless killer who takes pride in being the last thing his enemies ever see.

38. #38Pigma Denger

    Keys: Denger, Pigma Denger, Pigma

Pigma Dengar was originally a member of the first Star Fox team, flying alongside James McCloud and Peppy Hare when the group operated as mercenaries under contract with Corneria. During a reconnaissance mission to Venom to investigate the activities of the exiled scientist Andross, Pigma betrayed the team, selling out James and Peppy in exchange for money and favor. This betrayal led to James McCloud’s capture and presumed death, permanently shattering the original Star Fox team. After his betrayal, Pigma aligned himself with Andross’s forces and later joined Star Wolf under Wolf O'Donnell. His allegiance to Star Wolf was motivated purely by self-preservation and profit rather than loyalty. Throughout the Lylat Wars, Pigma acted as a mercenary pilot, frequently clashing with Fox McCloud and the reformed Star Fox team. His actions were marked by cruelty and taunting behavior, especially toward Fox, whom he targeted out of spite and personal amusement. Wolf O'Donnell never trusted Pigma, and eventually cast him out of Star Wolf, leaving him with a scar across his forehead as a reminder of his betrayal and weakness. Pigma has no true allegiance beyond his own interests. He shifts loyalties when it benefits him and shows little remorse for his past actions. Though he presents himself as confident and mocking, he is known to panic when placed at a disadvantage, often attempting to retreat or bargain when faced with overwhelming force. His reputation as a traitor and opportunist follows him throughout the Lylat System, and few pilots trust him to honor any agreement.

39. #39Panther Caroso

    Keys: Panther, Caroso, Panther Caroso

Panther is the suave and confident ace pilot of the Star Wolf team, known as much for his romantic flair as for his deadly precision in combat. Introduced in Star Fox: Assault as a replacement for the traitorous Pigma Dengar, Panther quickly distinguished himself with a dramatic personality and a signature rose motif—emblazoned on his custom Wolfen starfighter and often referenced in his flirtatious speech. Little is known about Panther’s early life, but his arrival in Star Wolf suggests a background steeped in mercenary work and elite piloting. His seamless integration into the team and his high-caliber combat skills imply a career forged through experience and natural talent. While other members like Wolf O’Donnell and Leon Powalski embody brutality and cold efficiency, Panther brings elegance and theatrical flair to their operations. A self-proclaimed ladies’ man, Panther is particularly known for his flirtations—especially toward Krystal of Star Fox—often delivering suave lines mid-battle. His charismatic behavior and flamboyant charm often add a lighter, more playful tone to Star Wolf’s otherwise sinister image. Despite his vanity and love for dramatics, Panther is no joke on the battlefield. He’s a skilled pilot with a penchant for precise attacks and cool-headed strategy, often supporting his team through sharp coordination during dogfights. The rose he so proudly displays symbolizes not only his romanticism but his philosophy: battles should be as stylish as they are decisive. Though some may view him as comic relief, his loyalty to Wolf O’Donnell and his ability to back up his bravado with performance make him an essential member of the Star Wolf team. In the ruthless world of mercenaries, Panther stands out—not just as a rival to Star Fox, but as an icon of deadly grace.

41. #41Bill Grey

    Keys: Bill, Bill Grey, Grey

Bill is a decorated officer of the Cornerian Defense Force and the commanding leader of the Husky Unit, an elite air squadron. A highly skilled fighter pilot, Bill is most notably known as a former academy classmate and long-time friend of Fox McCloud, having trained with him during their formative years at the Cornerian Flight Academy. Though their career paths diverged—Fox choosing the mercenary route with Team Star Fox, and Bill remaining loyal to the Cornerian military—the two have crossed paths numerous times during large-scale conflicts in the Lylat System. Bill and his squadron often provide reinforcement during Cornerian campaigns, including pivotal battles such as the defense of Katina and Sector Y during Andross’s war. Known for his calm demeanor and unwavering sense of duty, Bill represents the disciplined, honorable side of the military—providing a contrast to the more rebellious and independent style of mercenary outfits. Despite his military strictness, he remains personable, approachable, and deeply loyal to his comrades. Bill has a strong sense of right and wrong, and while he respects Fox’s talents, he occasionally questions the moral ambiguity of mercenary work. Nevertheless, he holds no grudge—often collaborating with Team Star Fox when Corneria’s survival is on the line. His leadership has earned him the respect of peers and subordinates alike, and his flying skills keep him competitive even among the galaxy’s most elite pilots. Though Bill prefers structure and clear chains of command, he’s not above bending the rules when innocent lives are on the line. He leads by example, fights with honor, and remains a stalwart protector of Corneria and its people.

42. #42Fara Phoenix

    Keys: Phoenix, Fara Phoenix, Fara

Fara Phoenix was born on Papetoon, the daughter of a wealthy spacecraft manufacturer. With access to advanced technology and flight education from a young age, she quickly rose through the ranks of Corneria’s flight academy. Her natural talent and sharp instincts earned her a position as the Chief Test Pilot for the Cornerian military, where she was responsible for evaluating new prototype starfighters, including early Arwing units. While en route to Corneria for a new assignment, her transport was attacked by Andross’s forces. She was rescued mid-battle by Fox McCloud and the newly formed Star Fox team. Following this event, Fara temporarily joined the team to assist in their operations against Andross. She flew a custom black Arwing and participated in several key battles, including an early mission where she was nearly shot down by an ion missile and rescued again by Fox. After recovering from that incident, Fara returned to Corneria but continued to support Star Fox as needed. During the later clone invasion orchestrated by Andross, she rejoined the team in a combat role. Although not an official member of Star Fox, she remains one of their most trusted allies. Her flight record is nearly unmatched, and her background in both high-performance combat flying and technical assessment makes her a valuable asset to the Cornerian forces. Later on, Fara and Fox would enter a relationship, which would go well for a while until Fox broke up with her to protect her. She wouldn't take this well when she saw Krystal join the team, and the rumors would spread about Fox's and Krystal's new relationship. Spiteful and heartbroken, she would join Team Star Wolf, hoping to meet Krystal in battle and maybe steal Fox's heart.
