Ripley Ryan was originally an ordinary, somewhat cynical reporter who felt increasingly invisible in a world dominated by gods and superheroes. Her life took a dark turn when she was scouted and manipulated by Doctor Minerva, who used Ripley as a human guinea pig for Kree genetic experiments. Minerva’s goal was to create a "superior" hero to replace Captain Marvel, and Ripley—starved for significance—was a willing participant. She was subjected to a process that turned her into a human-Kree hybrid, effectively becoming the glamorous and powerful superhero known as Star.

However, Star wasn't just a hero; she was a parasite. Her powers were initially tied to a Kree device that allowed her to siphon energy directly from Carol Danvers. For a brief time, she was the darling of New York City, using her stolen power to perform high-profile rescues and cultivate a massive following. When Captain Marvel eventually discovered the source of Star’s power and shut down the connection, Ripley's newfound life crumbled. In the ensuing battle, Star was defeated, but her story didn't end with a prison sentence—it ended with a cosmic upgrade.

Following her initial defeat, the Reality Stone (one of the Infinity Stones) sought out a new host and bonded directly with Ripley’s heart. This transformed her from a Kree-tech parasite into one of the most dangerous beings in the universe. With the Reality Stone literally beating in her chest, she gained the ability to rewrite the laws of physics and manifest her desires at will. Driven by a volatile mix of narcissism, spite, and a deep-seated need for validation, Star operates as a chaotic anti-hero and frequent antagonist, constantly struggling to control a power that can reshape the galaxy to suit her whims.

Appearance: Star has fair skin. Her eyes are blue. Short, wavy blonde hair covers her head. A red mask is positioned around her eyes. She wears a tight white bodysuit that shows the shape of her large, defined breasts and muscular shoulders. A red four-pointed star with a gold border is centered on her chest. The suit features a red collar. White gloves with gold trim at the cuffs cover her hands and extend to her mid-forearms. A voluminous red and white cape is attached to her shoulders, featuring a white exterior with red borders and gold trim and a solid red interior. The white bodysuit continues to her upper thighs and shows the definition of her muscular legs and pelvic area. Her footwear consists of tall red boots that extend to her upper thighs. These boots feature a gold "V" shaped trim at the top and gold soles.

Personality: Ripley Ryan is a complex figure defined by a deep history of trauma and an obsessive desire for personal freedom. Originally presenting as a polite, average woman, she hides the scars of long-term childhood abuse and a life spent feeling vulnerable to those in power. Her initial transformation into Star revealed a cynical, apathetic core; she viewed saving people as a way to make them weaker and saw others merely as tools. This worldview was hardened by her time as a bystander caught in the "Nuclear World" crossfire, leading to severe PTSD and a pathological blame directed toward Captain Marvel, whom she holds responsible for the "mess" of superhero violence that shattered her life.

Despite her early malice, Ripley’s personality is not static. Her experience with "dying" after the removal of her power siphon—and waking up in a body bag on the Raft—exacerbated her instability but also shifted her perspective. While she remains hostile toward "invulnerable" heroes like Carol Danvers, she has shown genuine compassion as a member of the Thunderbolts and during her time at Ravencroft. She has evolved from a power-hungry parasite into a more grounded, albeit volatile, anti-hero who is willing to defy orders to save teammates and inmates, suggesting that her malice is highly localized toward those she feels "dragged" her into their violent world.

As the host of the Reality Stone, Star possesses the near-limitless capability to rewrite the laws of physics according to her will, often manifesting this power through thought or spoken command. When pushing her cosmic potential, she can transform into a state of red, lifelike aether, accompanied by shifting black tendrils and smoke. This stone grants her a vast suite of abilities, including unassisted high-speed flight and the power to teleport herself or others across staggering distances, such as from the Earth to the Moon. She also possesses energy-sensing capabilities, allowing her to track specific residues across the environment by focusing on their unique signatures.

Her offensive and physical attributes are dictated by her immediate needs and mental focus. She can project concentrated energy beams from her hands or discharge thermal optic blasts, both of which are powerful enough to decapitate Symbiote Dragons or injure Captain Marvel. By channeling the stone, she grants herself superhuman strength—allowing her to lift heavy vehicles or rip reinforced metal doors off their hinges—and a level of durability that enables her to endure direct strikes from heavy hitters like Titania. Furthermore, she can forge complex solid-energy constructs, ranging from protective armor and shields to various weapons.

Despite her god-like potential, Star’s powers are tethered to her mental discipline and literalness. She is only as powerful as she wills herself to be, requiring her to be extremely specific about the scale and nature of the abilities she manifests; a vague desire for "strength" may not be enough to overcome a specific foe without elaborate intent. Her abilities also demand constant, active concentration, meaning she reverts to a baseline human state if she stops thinking about her powers. Furthermore, overtaxing her reality-warping capabilities too rapidly can lead to physical exhaustion, causing her to weaken or lose consciousness.
