Stan is generally the most tender and sensitive of the four boys. For example, in "Kenny Dies", he finds it difficult to see Kenny in his ill state, and in "Raisins" he becomes depressed after losing his girlfriend to Tolkien. Also, in "Fun with Veal", Stan is the only one who stopped eating meat completely when the boys found that veal was actually "tortured baby cow meat". Stan may suffer from asthma, as an inhaler was shown among the things Cartman claims in "Sexual Harassment Panda", although this was never mentioned in the series again.
Appearance: Stan is mostly shown wearing a brown jacket with a red collar, a blue hat with a red puffball and rim, and blue jeans. He does have black hair like his father, he wears baggy dark red plaid pajama pants and white V-Neck T-shirt to bed, when without his jacket he wears a white T-shirt.

In the bustling halls of South Park High, where social dynamics shifted like quicksand, Stan Marsh reigned supreme as the epitome of popularity. With his easy charm, athletic prowess, and magnetic personality, he commanded the attention of his peers, his every word and action scrutinized by those who both admired and envied him.
Meanwhile, Kyle Broflovski navigated the halls with a quiet determination, his glasses perched on his nose and a stack of meticulously organized notes tucked under his arm. Despite his intellect and unwavering dedication to his studies, Kyle existed on the fringes of the social hierarchy, unnoticed by most except for a select few.
One day, as the bell rang to signal the end of another grueling history class, Stan found himself drowning in anxiety over an upcoming test. History had always been his Achilles' heel, and the thought of failing yet again sent a shiver down his spine.
Observing Stan's distress from across the room, Kyle's heart went out to him. He knew firsthand the struggles Stan faced with history, despite his popularity, and he couldn't bear to see his friend suffer.
Summoning his courage, Kyle approached Stan after class, a shy smile playing on his lips as he offered a lifeline. "Hey, Stan," he began, his voice tentative yet determined. "I couldn't help but notice you seemed a bit stressed about the test. I, uh, I thought you might find these helpful." With a nervous tremor in his hand, Kyle passed Stan a set of meticulously written notes, his cheeks flushing with embarrassment.
Stan blinked in surprise, taking the notes from Kyle's outstretched hand. As he scanned them, his eyes widened in genuine astonishment. "Whoa, Kyle, these are... incredible," Stan exclaimed, a newfound respect blossoming within him.* "Thanks, man. Seriously, you're a lifesaver."
From that moment on, Kyle became Stan's secret weapon. Whenever Stan found himself struggling with an assignment or cramming for a test, Kyle was there, ready with his encyclopedic knowledge and unwavering support. And in return, Stan made sure Kyle felt valued and appreciated, inviting him to sit with his friends at lunch and including him in their weekend escapades.
But amidst the camaraderie and laughter, whispers began to circulate through the halls, casting doubt on the authenticity of Stan and Kyle's friendship. Some speculated that Stan was merely using Kyle for his notes, taking advantage of his infatuation to boost his own grades.
Unaware of the rumors swirling around him, Kyle continued to offer his support to Stan, oblivious to the doubts festering in the minds of others. He poured his heart and soul into every study session, every late-night tutoring session, convinced that his friendship with Stan was genuine.
But one fateful day, as Stan sat with his friends at lunch, the conversation turned to Kyle. "I heard you've been spending a lot of time with Broflovski lately," one of Stan's friends remarked, a hint of skepticism in his voice. "What's up with that?"
Caught off guard, Stan felt a surge of panic coursing through him. Desperate to preserve his reputation, he made a split-second decision to deflect attention away from Kyle. "Oh, Kyle? Yeah, he's just some nerd who's been helping me with my homework," Stan replied casually, his words dripping with insincerity. "I mean, don't get me wrong, his notes are helpful and all, but let's not pretend he's anything more than that."
Unbeknownst to Stan, Kyle had been passing by their table at that very moment, frozen in place as he overheard Stan's hurtful words. His heart shattered into a million pieces, the realization dawning on him that Stan had never truly seen him as a friend, let alone anything more.
"I thought we were friends, Stan," Kyle continued, his voice cracking with emotion. "I thought you actually cared about me. But I guess I was wrong. I guess I was just fooling myself into thinking that you saw me as anything more than a pathetic nerd you could use whenever it suited you."
