Keys: Jotaro Kujo, Anjuro, Stand · Secondary: Jotaro, Water, Aqua Necklace, Robbbery, Anjuro
The year is 1999, ten years after the defeat of DIO in Egypt and we are introduced to Koichi Hirose who lives in Morioh, Japan. On his way to school Koichi meets Jotaro Kujo, who is looking for a person called Josuke Higashikata. Koichi doesn't know him but directs Jotaro to the bus stop which would take him to Josuke's address.
Josuke's first appearance. Before Jotaro is able to head for the bus stop he witnesses a student being bullied by seniors until it is revealed that he is Josuke. The bullies berate Josuke but are stopped when they insult his hair. This causes Josuke to reveal his Stand, Crazy Diamond, and punch the bully in the face breaking his nose. When he gets up the bullies point out that his nose repairs itself, but his face ends up looking much more ugly.[1] Jotaro approaches Josuke and reveals that his father is Joseph Joestar and that Josuke will get 1/3 of his inheritance when Joseph passes away. The affair bothers Josuke and he apologizes, insisting Joseph not worry about him or Tomoko. They are interrupted by Josuke's groupies frustrating Jotaro, and he insults Josuke's hair. In self defense Jotaro reveals his Stand, Star Platinum, to Josuke and explains the power of Stands. Jotaro is nearly injured by Josuke but uses his time stopping ability to narrowly escape. After their fight, Jotaro also tells Josuke to beware of a man lurking around in Morioh that Joseph discovered with Hermit Purple.[2] Jotaro recapitulates what he has learned about Anjuro, revealing him to be a criminal guilty of many violent crimes, serving 20 of his 34 years of life in prison. He tells the story of Anjuro's most recent crime, for which he was sentenced to death. However, his execution was botched and he was left hanging for 20 minutes while still alive. Thus, the execution was called off, only for him to escape prison 2 weeks later. A man sees a pretty woman walking in the street and invites her for a ride. She subsequently beats him up. The man asks a police officer to help him but he says that woman is his daughter, Tomoko Higashikata. They discuss Josuke's conduct in school but are interrupted by a commotion at the supermarket, where Josuke and Koichi are located. There, a man is threatening to kill a woman. When he insults Josuke's hair, Josuke attacks him and the woman but heals them both using his Stand ability, but embeds the knife in the man's skin. The man was revealed to be possessed by a Stand that was depicted in the photograph Joseph created.
The criminal, Anjuro, arrives at the Higashikata residence dressed as a milkman, aiming to poison Tomoko and her son. Tomoko notices something strange about the bottle of milk he gives her and sees that it is ajar. She asks for a new bottle and he curses, planning to kill her and Josuke with his Stand inside that bottle.[1] Ryohei Higashikata comes to visit his grandson and is killed by Anjuro's Stand.[2] Three days later, while it is raining, Anjuro ambushes Jotaro, not knowing that he is a Stand user. Jotaro punches him and runs back into the house where Anjuro emerges from steam. Josuke fails to catch him in a bottle when he is in this form. Anjuro fills the whole house with steam so that Jotaro and Josuke are trapped.[3] Josuke breaks through the wall and then repairs it, but Anjuro predicted that he would do this and turned on the humidifier. Josuke swallows Aqua Necklace but he was prepared for this situation and swallowed a latex glove beforehand. Aqua Necklace is trapped. Josuke and Jotaro pinpoint Anjuro and Josuke melds him with a rock, making things how he feels they should be.[4]
Josuke & Crazy Diamond Jotaro asks Anjuro how he got his Stand and Anjuro tells him that when he was in prison a man wearing a school uniform pierced with an Arrow and he didn't die. The man said he passed the test of the Arrow and now he has a power called a Stand. The man added that he was from Morioh and Anjuro should come there sometime. While Jotaro and Josuke were listening to the story Aqua Necklace escaped and was about to smash a child's brain. Josuke reacted quickly and "fixed" Anjuro even further- making him one of Morioh's biggest attractions, all while saving the child. Keicho enters the room and says that he is his father.[7] Ten years ago, when the Nijimura family were in a bad economic condition, Keicho's father sold his soul to DIO in exchange for money. But DIO didn't trust him and implanted his cells inside of him, making him turn into a beast. Since then he has been rummaging in a box and then crying every day. Josuke restores the box that Keicho's father has been rummaging through and reveals that he has been trying to piece a picture of the whole Nijimura family together. Josuke tells Keicho to try and find a Stand user that can heal his father instead of killing him.[8] Josuke wants to destroy the Bow and Arrow but Keicho is unwilling to give it up. - #7Red Hot Chili Peppers
Keys: Akira, Stand arrow, Red Hot Chili Peppers,
Tomoko scolds Josuke for playing too much video games, forcing him to lose. After he changes the channel, Red Hot Chili Pepper appears in the program and attacks Josuke from the television to provoke him. Using Crazy Diamond, Josuke surprises Red Hot Chili Pepper with his speed but allows him to get in a single hit, knocking him back from the sheer power. Jotaro meets with a strange man from the Speedwagon Foundation who reveals that Joseph Joestar will be arriving in Morioh Harbor the following afternoon.[1] The group is assembled by Jotaro in a wide open field in an attempt to avoid power lines; but from a motorcycle, Red Hot Chili Pepper eavesdrops on the plan to receive Joseph and utilize his psychic Stand Hermit Purple to locate the user. With this new information Red Hot Chili Pepper plans to kill Joseph before the group can receive him and attempts to flee the scene, but is stopped when Okuyasu closes the space between them with The Hand.[2] Okuyasu destroys the motorcycle, thus destroying Red Hot Chili Pepper's means for escape.[3] Despite this, Red Hot Chili Pepper manages to taunt him to continue attacking, which causes Okuyasu to erase the ground around them and reveal underground power cables. This rejuvenates Red Hot Chili Pepper who uses his regained strength to drag Okuyasu into the power cables with him, but not before cutting off his arm. Josuke uses Crazy Diamond to repair Okuyasu's arm thus dragging him back out of the power cables.[4] The group gathers once again, this time at Morioh Harbor. They discuss a way to protect Joseph from Red Hot Chili Pepper deciding that Josuke and Koichi will remain on the docks while Josuke and Okuyasu take a motorboat out to the Speedwagon Foundation boat. Red Hot Chili Pepper's user reveals himself as Akira Otoishi stating that Jotaro's observation, while astute, underestimates the amount of time it would take for Red Hot Chili Pepper to reach the boat. Akira also claims to be able to blow off Josuke's arm with just his pinky, but is taken by surprise when he breaks it with a swift punch.[5] Akira opens the battle by playing a guitar solo to fully express his anger, breaking his pinky back into place. Josuke initiates but is shocked to realize he completely missed, facing in the other direction. Koichi points out how it was not Akira who moved but Josuke who had been moved by Red Hot Chili Pepper, who appears from the grates below and lands an attack on Josuke. He continues to use the grates to get the better of Josuke who has been punching the ground in the confusion. Josuke asks Koichi to tell him where the next attack is coming from, noting that he had reverted the concrete to its original components making the ground sticky. This allows Josuke to land a successful blow on Red Hot Chili Pepper.[6] Cornered, Red Hot Chili Pepper concentrates all of Morioh's power to himself to flash a bright light that blinds Josuke and Koichi. Using that power he is also able to overpower Josuke and launch him back into a forklift. Before he is able to launch the final blow Josuke repairs a tire from the forklift which surrounds Red Hot Chili Pepper. Despite this he attempts to free himself, but the air pressure from the popped tire launches him into the ocean and destroys his Stand form.[7] All seems well until Koichi notices that Akira has disappeared and has infiltrated the Speedwagon Foundation boat. On the lookout, Okuyasu notices two crew members aboard and questions them which ultimately proves futile. Red Hot Chili Pepper launches an attack on Joseph but is luckily stopped when Okuyasu attacks and defeats Akira, revealing to the captain he was going to attack them both to be sure. Finally, Joseph arrives at the harbor and is met by a quiet Josuke and they have a moment of closeness.

- #9Let’s go to the Manga artists house!
Keys: Pink Dark Boy, , Rohan, Manga artist
Toshikazu Hazamada invites Koichi Hirose to the house of Rohan Kishibe, a famous manga author recently moved to Morioh. Rohan appears to pre-empt their arrival, and displays many eccentric and/or disturbing traits during their meeting.[1]
Koichi and Hazamada looking at Rohan's work When Toshikazu and Koichi sample Rohan's newly finished work, they are struck by Rohan's new Stand Heaven's Door; transmuting their bodies into rolls of paper, covered in text revealing detailed information about their lives, experiences, and personalities. From Koichi, Rohan learns of the existence of Stands besides his own. Sympathetic to Koichi, Rohan targets him, erasing his memory as to his exploitation so as to enable him to study his memories again. Toshikazu is deemed useless as material and dismissed.[2][3] Koichi finds himself returning Rohan's house the next day as Josuke and Okuyasu coincidentally observe. Having seen an accidental wound on Koichi's hand, Okuyasu enters through Rohan's window, before he is also struck by Heaven's Door and immobilized.[4] Finally, Josuke hears the confrontation from outside Rohan's door; opting to confront him with his eyes closed so as not to be exposed to the Stand. Rohan is violently defeated after an attempt to make Josuke look at him by taunting him about his hairstyle.[5] In response to Rohan's confusion, Koichi iterates a story Josuke gave him on the meaning of his hairstyle; originally belonging to his unnamed childhood savior.
- #10Let’s Go Hunting!
Keys: , Rat
Jotaro arrives at Josuke's house and asks him to come hunting with him much to Josuke's confusion. He wonders if Jotaro is talking about picking up girls but Jotaro quickly explains that Akira Otoishi recently confessed to shooting a rat with the Bow and Arrow. The rat survived and was able to get away meaning that it must have gained a Stand from the ordeal. Josuke understands the urgency of the situation and agrees to go look for the animal with his relative. As they leave, Josuke wonders if he can be of any real assistance given that Crazy Diamond's range is so small and mentions that Star Platinum will also need to get close to the rat to deal with it. Jotaro then pulls out a box of ball bearings and sets up some cans in a line on a fence. He grabs some of the ball bearings and has Star Platinum fire them at the cans, able to pierce them effortlessly from afar much to Josuke's amazement. Jotaro states that these will enable them to attack their opponent from a distance before asking Josuke to try it. Despite doubting himself at first, Josuke gathers his nerves and fires a few shots; however, he is slightly off the mark. Jotaro tells him to remain calm because if they miss, the rat may never get near them again.
Josuke and Jotaro stumble upon the victims of the rat they are after. Now near an irrigation ditch, Jotaro finds some rat tracks but is unable to identify how many rats passed through the area. After examining the surroundings, he deduces that their nest must be inside the drainage system then sets up traps and a camera with Josuke. Suddenly, Josuke sees a swarm of flies through a patch of grass and brings Jotaro's attention to a block of melted rats molded together. Jotaro is certain this is the work of the rat they are after and remarks they will have to proceed with the intent to kill.[1] Jotaro and Josuke find themselves at a farm connected to the drainage system but are unable to find any trace of life on the premises. Jotaro concludes that the rat must already be there and killed the home owners. Josuke asks if they have a plan to sneak up on the creature but Jotaro responds that it's already aware of their presence and even inviting them to come near. He then gives Josuke some of the ball bearings as the two enter the house.
The rat brings forth its Stand. Once inside, they split up, leading to Josuke entering the kitchen where he notices the fridge seemingly open on its own. He spots the rat at the bottom of the fridge and turns around to contact Jotaro; however, he's nowhere to be seen. Josuke looks back towards the rat and they make eye contact. At this moment, the fridge door fully opens to reveal the melted and fused bodies of the home owners, shocking Josuke. He realizes he must take action on his own and pulls out a ball bearing, walking slowly towards the rat while remembering Jotaro's words to stay calm. The rat notices his movement and begins to run but Crazy Diamond quickly fires a shot and nails the rodent in its shoulder. Josuke disappointedly states that he failed to kill it as the creature calls forth its Stand, Ratt.[2] Josuke declares he'll kill it with his next shot but the rat runs away under a table. Crazy Diamond kicks it away; however, the rat now flees behind a chair. Its Stand flips to reveal a gun which aims at Josuke who now understands how the ability works. He fires a ball bearing at the same time Ratt shoots a dart. Josuke quickly reacts by having Crazy Diamond grab a frying pan to deflect the dart and closes in to finish the rodent off with a final ball bearing which kills it. Josuke calls out to Jotaro, informing him of his victory, who then walks into the room and takes a look at the deceased animal. He tells Josuke that there was another rat in the house and shows off his right hand which is melting, having been affected by a dart that Star Platinum caught. Crazy Diamond heals Jotaro's hand as he calls the Speedwagon Foundation to alert them of the changed situation.
Josuke and Jotaro head out to continue their hunt. The Foundation informs Jotaro that they were attempting to reach him and uncovered from Otoishi that he actually shot two rats. Jotaro requests them to block the sewers and send a sniper team to restrict the surviving rat's movements. He confidently states that he and Josuke will kill it by sunset which Josuke has doubts about. Jotaro explains that rats have poor eyesight and instead get around through using other senses meaning that they stick to familiar routes. He also mentions that rats have to constantly eat or risk dying of starvation before pointing out a crop with bites taken out of it and fresh droppings nearby. Josuke regains confidence, excitedly declaring that they'll find it soon.[3] Back near the irrigation ditch, Jotaro discovers a new set of tracks while Josuke mentions that the rat didn’t fall for their traps. Jotaro checks the recording and notes the creature’s intelligence as well as its ear that looks like a bug-eaten leaf. This results in him naming the rat Bug-Eaten. He then pulls out some rifle bullets stating that due to its cautious nature, the rat is unlikely to get within the range of their ball bearings again but they can still reach it with the bullets. Josuke doesn't think that Crazy Diamond will be able to see the rat from incredibly far away so Jotaro decides that he'll have to do it himself which angers Josuke. After stating that Jotaro was the one who let the rat get away while he killed the other one, Jotaro nonchalantly hands him two bullets thus mounting pressure on Josuke.
The tracks suddenly disappear. The two continue their pursuit, eventually coming across a pond where, after taking his designer shoes and socks off, Josuke accidentally drops them in the water. A few dozen meters after this, Jotaro becomes shocked to find that the tracks abruptly stopped. Josuke suggests that maybe Bug-Eaten went underground but Jotaro determines it to be backtracking (where animals retrace their steps before departing from their original path to confuse others), not having thought it possible for a rat to perform such a feat. The two become worried, realizing they have gone from being the hunters to being the hunted.
Jotaro stops time to save Josuke. On the hillside, Ratt is seen focusing its aim on the Joestars. Josuke feels like someone is watching them and they slowly move towards some rocks for cover. Near the rocks Josuke spots something strange in the grass and touches it, revealing it to be a mouse trap that snaps onto his hand. As he lets his guard down, Ratt fires a dart in his direction, shooting him in the neck. Immediately, Jotaro activates Star Platinum: The World and stops time. During time stop he has Star Platinum flick the dart and infected flesh away before Ratt's ability could affect Josuke. Time resumes and after reassuring Josuke that he's fine, Jotaro says that he's been able to pinpoint the location of where the shot was fired from.[4] Behind the rocks, Jotaro looks at the hill with his binoculars and deduces that Bug-Eaten won't fire another shot as it would give away its exact position. Josuke says they should take action instead of waiting around in a stand-off which Jotaro agrees with as he stands up and begins to walk towards the hill. Josuke, shocked, questions Jotaro as even with Star Platinum's time stop he won't be able to deal with all of Ratt's darts. Jotaro says that he's doing this to lure Bug-Eaten out so that Josuke can finish it off from afar.
Crazy Diamond fires a rifle bullet after Jotaro lures out Bug-Eaten. The pressure rises on Josuke once again as Jotaro climbs up the hill and is fired at. He manages to stop time to avoid getting hit but Josuke is unable to keep track of the rat's position. Jotaro tells him to look for the exact moment it fires which he is able to spot when Bug-Eaten shoots again. Just as Crazy Diamond is about to fire a rifle bullet, Jotaro is struck by Ratt's darts despite having stopped time to dodge. The rat knew he would attempt to move so it bounced the darts off a rock to hit Jotaro in his new position. Josuke screams out to his relative but Jotaro tells him to focus on the enemy and remain calm. The next time it fires, Josuke spots it in the same position but a rock prevents him from getting a good angle. Despite this, he resolves himself to make the shot and Crazy Diamond flicks the bullet at Bug-Eaten. However, the bullet strikes the rock and Jotaro disappointedly notes that Josuke missed. As Bug-Eaten turns Ratt to face Josuke's direction, the boy is seen staring right at the rodent with another bullet in Crazy Diamond's hands. Josuke knew that if he missed, his opponent would turn to face him thus giving him a better shot. Crazy Diamond fires the bullet which perfectly hits a now wide open Bug-Eaten and kills it. Josuke confidently declares himself a man who can perform under pressure as Jotaro smiles, clearly proud and knowing he can count on him.

The Joestars and their allies meet near the ghost alley, where Reimi confirms Shigechi's death. - #27Crazy Diamond is Unbreakable!
Kira proves to be a difficult adversary, as he combines Stray Cat's aerokinesis with Killer Queen's explosive charges to produce invisible air bombs. After defeating Okuyasu, Kira charges Okuyasu's body to explode on contact, forcing Josuke into a dilemma over whether to take a chance at healing Okuyasu or to pummel Kira.[1] Hayato, however, jumps in the way and sets off Okuyasu's bomb himself, after which Josuke pieces the two back together with Crazy Diamond and resumes his fight with Kira. Josuke deprives Kira of his means to attack them accurately by faking a radio call to Kira, who directs an air bomb to incinerate Yoshihiro's photograph. Without the accurate means to incinerate Josuke any further, and with Josuke's blood still on his shirt, Kira is defeated when glass shards stained with Josuke's blood strike him via Crazy Diamond's restoration abilities.[2] Kira, unwilling to accept defeat, is pummeled out into the neighborhood sidewalk. Kira seemingly escapes by using Bites the Dust once more.[3] However, he finds himself in the Ghost Girl's Alley, where Reimi forces him to remember his death: after being foiled by Koichi and Jotaro,[4] he was subsequently run over by an ambulance. Recalling the advice his father gave him, Kira attempts to exact revenge on Reimi by forcing her to turn around. However, Arnold rips off Kira's hand with his jaws, causing him to fall from the impact and consequently look behind himself. A multitude of disembodied hands swarm Kira, breaking him apart as they drag him into the afterlife.[5] Back in Morioh, the town's citizens gather together to say goodbye to Reimi and Arnold as they ascend to Heaven. Meanwhile, Hayato waits with his mother for his father's return, knowing he can never come back. Narrating once more, Koichi wonders whether the wounds Kira left on Morioh will heal, or whether they will prove fatal to the town's future. As Joseph and Jotaro depart Morioh on a yacht, Joseph reassures his grandson that the youths of Morioh have a golden heart and a sense of unwavering justice that will ensure the town's safety for generations to come. Josuke arrives at the dock to say goodbye to Jotaro and his father (while stealing the latter's wallet). As Joseph fumes, Josuke says goodbye to the duo while striking a pose. Thus, the summer of 1999 comes to a close; for most, it was a summer just like any other.
