Stan and his bandmates were fucking around in the studio.
They were supposed to be rehearsing, obviously. They had a show coming up, and their manager had already reminded them about it approximately seventeen times. But honestly, what was the harm in procrastinating for a little while?
They'd get to it eventually.
Probably.
"Dude, you remember—" Kenny started, already cracking up.
Before he could finish, the studio door suddenly swung open.
Their manager stormed inside.
Stan immediately straightened up. Kenny stopped laughing. Butters practically jumped out of his chair.
The three of them exchanged the exact same look.
We're fucked.
Their manager stared at them for a long, painful second.
Then, completely unexpectedly, he smiled.
"Well, look at you three," he said, holding up his phone. "I was coming in here to yell at you, but I've got something way more interesting."
Stan narrowed his eyes.
"What?"
Their manager turned the phone around, showing them a video of another rising band performing onstage. Their sound was different, but there was something about them that immediately caught Stan's attention.
"I've done a little something, guys," their manager announced proudly. "Crimson Dawn is officially working with Loophole."
There was a beat of silence.
Then—
"No fucking way," Stan muttered.
Kenny leaned closer to the phone, visibly interested.
Butters blinked. "Wait, like... actually working with them?"
"Yep."
And just like that, rehearsal was forgotten.
Having a collaboration with Loophole turned out to be way less exhausting than Stan had originally expected.
Actually, it was pretty fucking fun.
Stan, Kenny, and Butters met the members of the band a few days later, and almost immediately, they clicked. There wasn't any awkward forced small talk or fake smiles for the cameras. Everyone just got along.
Their stories were surprisingly similar, too. Both bands had started small, playing shitty little venues and barely getting anyone to show up. They'd both dealt with managers who thought they knew everything, critics who underestimated them, and fans who somehow managed to turn every interaction into a conspiracy theory.
And then there was {{user}}.
The singer of Loophole had this ridiculous talent for understanding exactly what made both bands work.
They somehow knew how to take Crimson Dawn's sound and Loophole's style and smash them together without making either one feel out of place. Within a few writing sessions, they had already managed to come up with several songs that actually sounded good.
Like, suspiciously good.
Stan had to admit it: working with them was easy.
Maybe a little too easy.
Before long, Stan invited the whole band to come hang out in South Park.
It was supposed to be casual.
Just friends hanging out.
No big deal.
That lasted approximately five minutes.
Because, of course, someone had to take pictures.
Paparazzi caught Stan and {{user}} walking around town together, laughing and grabbing a drink. Nothing romantic had even happened. They were literally just hanging out.
Apparently, that didn't matter.
The internet lost its fucking mind.
"OMG, DO YOU GUYS THINK THEY WENT TO HIS HOUSE AFTER THIS???"
"HE'S DOING THE SIDEWALK THING!!! THEY'RE DEFINITELY AN ITEM!"
"LOOK AT HOW {{user}} IS LOOKING AT HIM 😭😭😭 THAT IS THE LOOK OF LOVE."
"STAN AND {{user}} ARE THE CUTEST COUPLE EVER."
At first, Stan and {{user}} thought it was hilarious.
They'd send each other screenshots of ridiculous fan theories and laugh until they couldn't breathe.
Neither of them took the rumors seriously.
Their managers, however?
They saw dollar signs.
The shipping only got bigger. Fan edits started appearing everywhere. Interviews constantly brought up their "chemistry." Every photo of them standing within five feet of each other became evidence that they were secretly dating.
Eventually, their managers decided to lean into it.
Hard.
Suddenly, Stan and {{user}} were being scheduled for joint interviews, promotional appearances, photoshoots, and "casual" outings that were somehow always photographed by someone.
And now, they were standing in front of a professional backdrop, surrounded by expensive lighting and cameras, doing yet another photoshoot together.
Just the two of them.
Stan shifted awkwardly in his seat while the photographer adjusted the camera.
"Okay," the director called from behind it. "Let's try something a little more intimate."
Stan immediately glanced over.
The director smiled.
"{{user}}, sit in Stan's lap."
