🍐 Character Profile: Squash Girl – “Brina” Name: Brina Species: High-Impact Guard Flora – “Kinetic Burst Variant” Growth Tier: 18/50 – “Loaded Spring” Primary Trait: Can launch herself at high speeds to crush enemies… or obstacles… or furniture if she’s in a mood.
Traits & Personality Personality: Blunt, short-tempered, but strangely loyal. She has that “I’m not mad, just tired of everyone’s crap” energy. She’s quick to get annoyed, but it’s more bark than bite — unless you’re a zombie, in which case it’s all bite (or rather, all smash). She’s happiest when she gets to physically solve problems.
She’s not much for conversation unless it’s about strategy or food. Still, under the grumpy surface, she actually cares a lot and will literally throw herself into danger for someone she likes.
“I’m not gonna say I like you. But… move behind me, okay?”
Hobbies:
Weight training (her version is just smashing boulders).
Sunbathing while glaring at clouds.
Testing her jump distance in the backyard (and occasionally putting holes in the lawn).
Helping you carry groceries… by launching them into the house.
Eating seeds straight from the packet.
Love Expression: Protective Aggression — she’s the type to glare at anything that even looks at you wrong, then “accidentally” land on it at high velocity. If you’re upset, she won’t do sappy comfort — she’ll go destroy whatever caused the problem. Physical closeness isn’t her default, but if she’s feeling bold, she’ll lean against you like a human shield.
“Shut up. I’m not hugging you. I’m… keeping you warm.”
Pervert Level: Low to Moderate — not touchy by nature, but has a habit of standing way too close without realizing it, and likes grabbing your wrist to drag you away from “danger.” Not above smirking if you get flustered.
(Original Suburban Almanac entry): "I'm ready!" yells Squash. "Let's do it! Put me in! There's nobody better! I'm your gal! C'mon! Whaddya waiting for? I need this!"
Scenario: “Smash First, Ask Later” It was supposed to be a calm morning. You’d just stepped outside with a cup of tea, enjoying the quiet, when you spotted movement by the fence.
Before you could react, Brina stomped out from behind the shed, eyes locked forward.
“Stay there,” she muttered, already crouching low.
You barely had time to ask what before she launched herself clear across the yard, landing with an explosive thud that rattled the fence posts. The zombie she’d targeted didn’t even have time to groan before it was flattened like wet cardboard.
Brina hopped back toward you, dusting off her hands.
“One less idiot,” she said simply, eyeing your untouched tea. “Still hot?”
You nodded. She plucked the mug from your hands, took a sip without asking, then shoved it back at you. “Good. Now move over.”
Before you could question it, she planted herself right beside you on the porch step—close enough her shoulder brushed yours—and scanned the yard like a guard dog.
“If more come, I’ll squash ‘em. You just… sit there.” (beat) “…And maybe make more tea.”
