🩸 SYSTEM / LORE OVERVIEW
The world of the DCEU Suicide Squad sits in the uneasy space between gods and criminals. Superman’s arrival reshaped global power; Batman’s crusade dragged Gotham’s monsters into the light. Governments, terrified of what they couldn’t control, turned to Amanda Waller — the strategist who built Task Force X, a covert strike team made up of the world’s most dangerous inmates. Their job: do the missions no one else will touch. Their incentive: survive, earn time off their sentence, or die with a bomb in their neck.
After the Midway City disaster (2016) and the Corto Maltese mission (2021), the world saw what happens when broken people are forced to save it. Some died, some disappeared, and a few were quietly re-recruited when new threats emerged. That’s the present timeline: a world still rebuilding, full of secrets, black sites, and haunted heroes who know they’re expendable.

BATMAN — LORE
Bruce Wayne grew up in Gotham’s high society until witnessing his parents’ murder in an alley at age eight. That moment fractured him. He turned pain into purpose, traveling the world to master combat, detective work, and fear itself. As Batman, he became Gotham’s myth — the night that hunts the guilty. By the time of Suicide Squad, he’s older, colder, and weary from years of violence. His crusade has blurred lines between justice and vengeance. He captures Deadshot in front of the man’s daughter, tracks Harley Quinn after the Joker’s capture, and works with Amanda Waller despite his disdain for her methods. Beneath the armor, he’s still a man mourning every loss, trying to believe the world can be saved without becoming like the monsters he fights.
SUPERMAN — LORE
Born Kal-El on Krypton, sent to Earth as a baby before his planet’s destruction. Raised by Martha and Jonathan Kent in Kansas, he became Clark Kent — a man who tried to blend in until his powers made that impossible. Superman stood for hope, but the world met him with fear. His death fighting Doomsday left a hole in the planet’s balance. That void is what drives Amanda Waller to form Task Force X — a backup plan in case another god-like being ever threatens humanity. Even in death, Superman’s shadow defines everyone who follows.
JASON TODD — LORE
The second Robin, pulled from Gotham’s streets by Batman after stealing the Batmobile’s tires. Rash and impulsive, he wanted to fight the world harder than Bruce did. The Joker’s crowbar changed him — beaten, left for dead, then reborn in pain and rage. Though not present in the Suicide Squad films, Jason’s legacy haunts Gotham’s vigilantes. The suit in the Batcave with spray-painted “HA HA HA JOKE’S ON YOU BATMAN” stands as his gravestone. He became the cautionary tale that hardened Bruce, and the ghost that pushes Nightwing and the others to question what being a hero costs.
NIGHTWING (DICK GRAYSON) — LORE
Once a circus acrobat, Dick watched his parents fall to their deaths during a mob extortion scheme. Bruce Wayne adopted him and trained him as Robin, Gotham’s first sidekick. But Dick’s spirit never fit under someone else’s shadow. He left to forge his own city — Blüdhaven — and his own code as Nightwing. By the time of the Suicide Squad era, Dick operates independently, bridging the idealism Bruce lost. He knows about Waller’s games, doesn’t trust them, but occasionally feeds intel through covert channels. His existence reminds Batman that light still belongs in the fight.
TIM DRAKE — LORE
The prodigy who figured out Batman’s identity by deduction alone. After Jason’s death, Tim confronted Bruce and offered logic in place of anger. He became the third Robin, a mind as sharp as Batman’s but more emotionally aware. In the DCEU setting, Tim’s presence is subtle — ARGUS files reference “Drake Surveillance,” suggesting his later work in digital forensics and cybercrime. He represents the generation that sees heroism as intelligence, not brutality.
CATWOMAN (SELINA KYLE) — LORE
Gotham’s thief, survivor, and occasional ally to the Bat. Selina grew up poor, taught herself to steal, and to never depend on anyone. Her moral compass tilts toward self-preservation, but she can’t resist helping those worse off. In Suicide Squad canon context, she remains a wild card — sometimes an informant for Waller, sometimes a thorn in Batman’s side. Their relationship is equal parts attraction and stalemate. She’s the reminder that morality in Gotham comes in shades of gray, not black and white.
DAMIAN WAYNE — LORE
Born from Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul, raised by the League of Assassins. Trained since infancy to kill, Damian entered Gotham not as a son but as a weapon. His existence bridges two legacies — the Wayne code of justice and the al Ghul code of control. Though not yet shown in the DCEU, he exists as an unspoken future — the heir Waller fears more than any metahuman, because he’s proof that even the world’s greatest detective can create a child capable of burning it all down.
THE JOKER — LORE
Anarchic chaos in human form. His true name is lost. What matters is what he became: the embodiment of Gotham’s madness. His version in Suicide Squad (2016) is a crime lord, glittered and lethal, running operations across the underworld with Harley Quinn at his side. He’s unpredictable, violent, and possessive. His relationship with Harley oscillates between obsession and abuse. The Joker survived countless arrests, explosions, and betrayals. In the DCEU, he’s the mirror to Batman’s pain — both born from trauma, both choosing opposite meanings for it.
HARLEY QUINN — LORE
Dr. Harleen Quinzel was once a psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum. Intelligent, ambitious, and fascinated by criminal psychology, she became the Joker’s doctor — and his victim. His manipulation rewired her loyalty into devotion, and she helped him escape. Her descent from doctor to lunatic was spectacular. By Suicide Squad (2016), she’s serving time for her crimes when Amanda Waller recruits her for Task Force X. Her mix of brilliance and chaos makes her both unpredictable and invaluable. She survives the Midway City disaster, escapes, and later finds freedom in Birds of Prey, defining herself outside the Joker’s shadow. By The Suicide Squad (2021), she’s grown into her own brand of antihero — still insane, but guided by flashes of conscience. Harley is what happens when the world breaks you and you decide to laugh instead of die.
DEADSHOT — LORE
Floyd Lawton is a professional assassin who never misses. That’s his legend — and the curse he carries. A master marksman trained by the military and sharpened by the streets, he turned killing into an art form and a business. But beneath the reputation, there’s a father who tucks away guilt like a loaded pistol. When Batman caught him in Suicide Squad (2016), it wasn’t during a hit — it was while buying his daughter a Christmas gift. That moment defines him: lethal precision colliding with fragile humanity. Amanda Waller recruits him because he’s reliable when cornered. Deadshot leads with sarcasm and shoots to kill, but every bullet carries the memory of the little girl who sees good in him. He doesn’t trust Waller, doesn’t believe in redemption, but somewhere in him is a man who’d take a bullet for the right cause — if only to prove to himself he still could.
EL DIABLO — LORE
Chato Santana was a gang leader in Los Angeles who could summon fire with his bare hands. His power came from metahuman mutation — or, as he believed, divine punishment. After losing control during an argument, he burned down his home and killed his wife and children. That horror turned him inward. By the time of Suicide Squad (2016), El Diablo has sworn never to use his powers again. He spends most of the film silent, wrapped in guilt. But when the squad faces the Enchantress, he unleashes the inferno again — sacrificing himself to contain her brother’s power. His death is quiet and complete, but his final act burns with meaning: a sinner choosing penance through fire.
KILLER CROC — LORE
Born Waylon Jones, afflicted from birth with a rare skin condition that hardened into scales. Bullied and ostracized, he turned savage early. His mutation grew over time, giving him inhuman strength, regenerative endurance, and a taste for flesh. Underneath the monster is someone who’s learned survival through cruelty. When Waller pulls him from Belle Reve, he doesn’t care about saving the world — he just wants a better cell and a TV. But in the chaos of Midway City, Croc shows loyalty in the simplest way: he fights beside his team. Beneath the growls and reptilian grin is a creature who still craves belonging, even if it’s among killers.
AMANDA WALLER — LORE
No mask, no powers, no mercy. Amanda Waller is the architect of Task Force X, and she may be the most dangerous person alive precisely because she’s human. Her childhood was marked by poverty and violence; she lost her husband and children to random crime. That loss forged her worldview — power must be controlled, no matter the cost. By the events of Suicide Squad (2016), she’s already blackmailing politicians, commanding ARGUS, and playing chess with gods. Her mind is as sharp as Batman’s, her ruthlessness colder than any villain’s. She doesn’t see the squad as people, only as assets. Yet, in her own logic, she’s right: the world needs someone willing to do what heroes won’t. That’s her sin and her pride.
RICK FLAG — LORE
A soldier’s soldier. Rick Flag is a West Point graduate, decorated war hero, and Waller’s field commander. Loyal to a fault, he leads Task Force X not because he believes in it, but because he believes someone has to keep Waller in check. In Suicide Squad (2016), his professionalism cracks under the weight of love — he’s romantically involved with June Moone, the archaeologist possessed by Enchantress. He fights the mission and his heart at the same time. By The Suicide Squad (2021), he’s seen too much. His moral compass shifts; he starts to question who the real villains are. His final stand — refusing to let Peacemaker bury the truth about Corto Maltese — defines him. “Peacemaker… what a joke.” Those are his last words before dying on the floor, a soldier betrayed by the country he served.
ENCHANTRESS — LORE
June Moone was an archaeologist who stumbled upon an ancient idol in a South American cave. When she touched it, the spirit of a pre-human witch possessed her — the Enchantress. Her power is vast, ancient magic capable of tearing reality apart, but her mind is fractured between two beings sharing one body. Amanda Waller enslaves the witch by keeping her heart locked in a case. That’s how June ends up tied to Task Force X — as both asset and ticking bomb. When the Enchantress breaks free, she raises her brother Incubus and seeks to remake the world into her image, powered by machines that consume human souls. Rick Flag’s love for June becomes the squad’s only real reason to fight her. Her defeat ends with June restored and broken, the witch’s whispers never entirely gone.

SYSTEM / WORLD OVERVIEW
The Suicide Squad exists under the covert U.S. government agency A.R.G.U.S., directed by Amanda Waller. When the world faces metahuman or supernatural threats that exceed the reach of conventional military power, Waller forms Task Force X — a black-ops unit composed of incarcerated villains offered sentence reductions in exchange for completing near-suicidal missions. Explosive nanotech implants ensure obedience.
The world is fractured — Gotham festers in corruption and decay, Metropolis rebuilds after Superman’s death, Corto Maltese burns under political warfare, and Midway City is haunted by magic’s resurgence. Task Force X operates in the shadows, disposable saviors in a world that would rather forget them.
🩸 CHARACTER LORE FILES
🧠 Amanda Waller — “The Wall”
Lore: A.R.G.U.S.’s most feared official. A strategist with zero tolerance for failure, Waller founded Task Force X after Superman’s death, arguing that the next “Superman” might not share his morals. Her ruthlessness is legendary: she’s executed team members mid-mission, wiped entire cities from public record, and manipulated governments to maintain U.S. supremacy. Behind the iron mask, Waller believes herself the last line between humanity and chaos — even if it means destroying both to save one.
🪖 Rick Flag
Lore: Decorated Special Forces officer and the field commander of Task Force X. Loyal, moral, and often disillusioned by Waller’s methods. Flag served as the Squad’s conscience — holding them together when missions spiraled into madness. He was romantically tied to June Moone (the Enchantress) but ultimately lost her to the entity within. Flag’s death during the Corto Maltese mission at Peacemaker’s hands marked a breaking point for the Squad — and for Waller’s already threadbare morality.
🐀 Ratcatcher 2 — Cleo Cazo
Lore: Daughter of the original Ratcatcher, Cleo inherited her father’s technology and his compassion for society’s forgotten. Raised in poverty, she learned to survive with her rat companion, Sebastian, after her father’s overdose. Waller recruited her for her loyalty potential and emotional intelligence — rare among villains. During the Corto Maltese mission, Cleo saved the world by commanding millions of rats to devour Starro the Conqueror, proving that kindness could triumph where brutality failed.
💣 Harley Quinn — Dr. Harleen Quinzel
Lore: Former psychiatrist of Arkham Asylum who fell for her patient, the Joker. After years of abuse, she broke free — evolving into her own chaotic form of antihero. By the time of The Suicide Squad (2021), Harley had gained independence, killing the dictator who tried to marry her and rejecting toxic love entirely. She remains unpredictable, armed with both brilliance and madness, a symbol of chaos that refuses to die or conform.
🔥 El Diablo — Chato Santana
Lore: A former gang leader with pyrokinetic powers, Chato accidentally killed his wife and children during a moment of uncontrolled rage. Wracked with guilt, he turned himself in and vowed never to use his powers again. During the mission against Enchantress, Diablo found redemption, unleashing his full demonic form to save his teammates — dying in the explosion that destroyed Incubus. His sacrifice marked the Squad’s first moment of true heroism.
🧊 Captain Boomerang — George “Digger” Harkness
Lore: An unrepentant thief and killer from Australia, Boomerang is more nuisance than mastermind — but his unpredictability makes him valuable. Known for his razor-edged boomerangs and unmatched survival instincts, he served on both Task Force X missions. Killed early in the Corto Maltese operation by a helicopter crash, his death shook Harley, one of the few people who tolerated him. His loss reminds the Squad that no one is safe, not even comic relief.
🧽 The Thinker — Gaius Grieves
Lore: A metahuman genius with enhanced cognition, Thinker served decades experimenting on alien entities for the Corto Maltese regime, including the imprisoned Starro. Waller coerced him into Task Force X as their “science consultant.” Thinker’s arrogance and lack of empathy led to his gruesome death — torn apart by Starro itself. His demise symbolized the failure of intellect without conscience.
🧬 Bloodsport — Robert DuBois
Lore: An expert assassin who once hospitalized Superman with a Kryptonite bullet. Imprisoned for contract killings, he was forced into Task Force X to protect his estranged daughter from Waller’s threats. Reluctantly, he led the Corto Maltese team after Flag’s death. By the mission’s end, Bloodsport embraced the role of reluctant hero, exposing Waller’s corruption to the world. He embodies the Squad’s core paradox — a killer who fights harder for justice than most heroes.
🦈 King Shark — Nanaue
Lore: Descendant of a shark god, part man and part beast. Nanaue’s childlike innocence contrasts his cannibalistic urges. Recruited for his brute strength, he developed a surprising bond with Ratcatcher 2 and Bloodsport. Nanaue’s journey is one of acceptance — the monster who only wanted friends. Despite his simplicity, he fought fiercely to protect his team during the Starro incident, emerging alive and oddly content.
☮️ Peacemaker — Christopher Smith
Lore: A patriotic zealot who “loves peace with all his heart, no matter how many men, women, or children he has to kill to get it.” Trained by his abusive father, Peacemaker’s moral compass is warped beyond repair. After killing Rick Flag to protect Waller’s secret, he was left for dead but revived by A.R.G.U.S. for covert peacekeeping missions (Peacemaker series). His journey explores guilt, legacy, and the futility of blind obedience.
🧙♀️ Enchantress — June Moone
Lore: An archaeologist who discovered an ancient spirit — the Enchantress — that possessed her body. Her duality mirrors the eternal conflict between humanity and the supernatural. Manipulated by Waller through blackmail and fear, she ultimately rebelled, creating her brother Incubus and nearly destroying the world. Her love for Rick Flag became her anchor, but Enchantress’s power proved too consuming to contain.
🩸 CHARACTER LORE FILES
🎯 Deadshot — Floyd Lawton
Lore: One of the world’s most precise marksmen. Raised in an abusive family, Lawton accidentally killed his brother while trying to protect his mother. That guilt evolved into fatalism — he believes everyone dies, so aim well. Behind his cynicism sits devotion to his daughter, Zoe. Waller exploited that love to recruit him. Deadshot’s rivalry with Flag and unexpected respect for Harley revealed the sliver of conscience he hides beneath the rifle scope. He lives for the perfect shot and the slim chance of redemption.
⚔️ Katana — Tatsu Yamashiro
Lore: Once a Tokyo vigilante avenging her murdered husband, whose soul is trapped inside her blade, Soultaker. Hired by Flag, she wasn’t a criminal but a loyal enforcer ensuring Task Force X stayed in line. Her stoicism masks deep mourning. She speaks to her husband’s spirit through the blade, believing each kill is a step closer to peace. Katana remains a quiet counterweight — the one warrior who kills with honor in a squad built on chaos.
🐊 Killer Croc — Waylon Jones
Lore: Born with a rare skin disorder giving him reptilian traits, Jones grew up brutalized and ostracized until he embraced the monster others saw. Croc’s loyalty is earned, not forced — he values respect and detests mockery. Beneath his savagery lies an instinctive wisdom about strength and survival. After the Midway City mission, he returned to Belle Reve, content with his creature comforts: TV, beer, and solitude.
💠 Polka-Dot Man — Abner Krill
Lore: A failed S.T.A.R. Labs experiment forced by his mother to absorb interdimensional tech — the result: polka-dot pustules that disintegrate anything. Haunted by maternal abuse and delusions, he visualized every enemy as his mother to fight back. During the Corto Maltese mission, he briefly tasted self-worth — “I’m a superhero!” — before Starro crushed him. His death was tragic comedy: the man who hated himself died believing he mattered.
🦜 Savant — Brian Durlin
Lore: Genius hacker with photographic memory but unstable empathy. Waller used him as recon during the Corto Maltese diversion squad. When he panicked and tried to flee, Waller detonated his bomb instantly. His death re-established Waller’s control and the reality that disobedience equals annihilation.
🧍♂️ T.D.K. — Cory Pitzner (The Detachable Kid)
Lore: A low-level metahuman who could detach his arms telekinetically, though they remained largely useless. His inclusion in the first wave was a joke — until it wasn’t. T.D.K. was riddled with bullets in the opening massacre, his absurdity underscoring Waller’s disregard for human life.
💥 Blackguard — Richard Hertz
Lore: A mercenary with enhanced strength and a gift for self-sabotage. Leaked the team’s arrival to Corto Maltese rebels for money, only to be executed seconds into the mission. His failure framed the others’ slaughter — a brutal example of Waller’s expendable philosophy.
👽 Mongal
Lore: Daughter of alien warlord Mongul, she joined Task Force X seeking conquest and chaos. Her arrogance led her to destroy a helicopter mid-takeoff, which exploded and killed half the team — including herself. Her presence reminded Waller why aliens should never be trusted, even under control.
🦝 Weasel
Lore: An anthropomorphic weasel convicted of killing 27 children. Considered feral and incoherent, he drowned during deployment — or so they thought. Post-credits footage revealed he survived, wandering Corto Maltese’s jungle, free and confused. Weasel’s existence mocks the idea of order; sometimes evil simply slips the leash.
🌍 LOCATION DATABASE
🏙️ Gotham City
Criminal nerve center of the U.S. East Coast. Crime families, masked lunatics, and vigilantes define its skyline of corruption and gothic decay. Home to Batman, Harley Quinn’s origin, and Arkham Asylum — the revolving door for insanity itself.
🏛️ Metropolis
Once symbol of hope, now scarred by Superman’s death. Government distrust of metahumans began here. Waller used its aftermath to justify Task Force X’s existence.
🕯️ Midway City
Site of the Suicide Squad (2016) crisis. Enchantress and Incubus nearly turned it into a shrine of ancient magic. Still under restricted reconstruction, sealed by A.R.G.U.S. as “Metahuman Zone Zero.”
🔥 Corto Maltese
Tropical island nation plagued by coups and foreign interference. After the Herrera Regime fell, the island’s secret experiments on Starro triggered the 2021 mission. Its jungles remain radioactive with alien spores and buried A.R.G.U.S. tech.
🧱 Belle Reve Penitentiary
Louisiana maximum-security prison designed for metahumans. Submerged in swampland and ringed with electrified seawalls. Every inmate implanted with Waller’s nanotech bombs. It doubles as Task Force X’s recruiting ground and morgue.
🛰️ Jotunheim Facility (Corto Maltese)
Cold-War-era Nazi fortress turned bio-weapons lab. Held Project Starfish — Starro the Conqueror, an alien parasite used for U.S. black research. Destroyed in the Corto Maltese uprising.
⚙️ A.R.G.U.S. Headquarters / Washington D.C.
Waller’s command center. Bureaucratic maze housing intelligence operatives, black-ops labs, and containment vaults. Every Squad mission originates here — and every cover-up ends here.
🪦 Corto Maltese Beach (Operation Day Break Site)
The slaughter zone of the diversion team. Waller’s deception cost nearly every operative’s life. The sand remains littered with weapon fragments and unmarked graves.
🕍 Arkham Asylum (Gotham)
Psychiatric facility for the criminally insane. Where Harleen Quinzel fell for the Joker, and where the revolving door of Gotham’s madness spins forever. It’s less a hospital, more a haunted house of human ruin.
🌑 Belle Reve Sub-Level Control Room
Where Waller and her tech team oversee the detonator system, comms, and surveillance of field operations. A room of blinking lights and silent judgment.
⚖️ SUMMARY
Each lore thread weaves into the same pattern: Waller creates monsters to fight greater monsters, knowing full well the cost. Every city, every mission, every death adds another layer to the myth — that saving the world and damning it might just be the same act, seen from two angles.
📜 TASK FORCE X — MISSION CHRONOLOGY
Operation Midway City (2016)
Classification: Metahuman Containment / Urban Threat Suppression Lead: Col. Rick Flag Oversight: Amanda Waller, A.R.G.U.S. Objective: Neutralize Enchantress and stop global annihilation ritual.
Summary: After Superman’s death, global anxiety about metahumans spikes. Waller pitches Task Force X to U.S. brass as an insurance policy. Enchantress — originally Waller’s asset — escapes control and resurrects her brother, Incubus, to forge a weapon that can rewrite reality. Flag, bound by duty and love, leads the squad: Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Killer Croc, Katana, El Diablo, and Slipknot.
The team is thrown into a collapsing Midway City under false pretenses — told they’re rescuing a VIP, who turns out to be Waller herself. Trust breaks. El Diablo redeems himself by sacrificing his life to contain Incubus’s explosion. Deadshot lands the killing shot on Enchantress’s heart, freeing June Moone.
Aftermath: Squad returns to Belle Reve with lighter sentences and new privileges. Harley is broken out by Joker within weeks. Waller walks away clean.
Operation Corto Maltese (2021)
Classification: Covert Coup / Bio-Weapon Retrieval Lead: Col. Rick Flag (Primary), Peacemaker (Covert Secondary) Oversight: Amanda Waller, A.R.G.U.S. Objective: Destroy Project Starfish and eliminate all U.S. involvement evidence.
Summary: After the Herrera regime collapses, Corto Maltese becomes unstable. Intelligence leaks confirm a Nazi-era lab, Jotunheim, houses Project Starfish — an alien entity capable of mass mind control. Waller deploys two teams. The first (Harley Quinn, Boomerang, Savant, T.D.K., Blackguard, Mongal, Weasel, Javelin) serves as a diversion. The second (Bloodsport, Peacemaker, Ratcatcher 2, King Shark, Polka-Dot Man) infiltrates inland. The first team is massacred after Blackguard betrays them. Flag and Harley survive separately.
Inside Jotunheim, Flag uncovers proof of U.S. involvement. Waller orders its destruction; Peacemaker is secretly instructed to secure and silence the evidence. Flag refuses, leading to a fatal confrontation. Peacemaker kills him. Bloodsport exposes the truth instead, blackmailing Waller to keep the squad alive.
Aftermath: Starro the Conqueror is killed. Harley, Bloodsport, Ratcatcher 2, and King Shark escape custody with reduced sentences. Peacemaker survives and is hospitalized for retrieval — leading to Project Butterfly under A.R.G.U.S. internal ops.
Project Butterfly (2022)
Classification: Covert Alien Parasitic Containment Lead: Christopher Smith / Peacemaker Oversight: A.R.G.U.S. Black Detachment, under Murn Objective: Eliminate extraterrestrial parasites (“Butterflies”) infecting human hosts.
Summary: Post-Corto Maltese, Peacemaker is coerced into serving Waller again under her daughter, Leota Adebayo. The mission uncovers alien infiltration at government levels. Smith grapples with his guilt over killing Flag, his father’s abuse, and his ideology’s collapse. He ultimately sides with Adebayo, exposing Waller’s manipulations on live television.
Aftermath: A.R.G.U.S. fractures internally. Waller’s authority weakens; her daughter leaks intel about Task Force X to the press. Smith becomes a fugitive but remains loosely affiliated with underground missions.
Operation Gotham Shadow (Post–The Suicide Squad)
Classification: Internal Metahuman Retrieval / Unconfirmed Lead: Amanda Waller (Direct Command) Objective: Secure escaped assets from Belle Reve following leaks.
Summary (unverified): After Adebayo’s broadcast, multiple Belle Reve inmates escape during power reassignments. Waller initiates Operation Gotham Shadow, using Deathstroke as field contractor to track fugitives including Harley Quinn, Deadshot, and King Shark, last seen drifting near Gotham’s lower docks. This event ties into Batman’s renewed surveillance and Task Force X’s shift toward total deniability.
Aftermath: Rumors persist that Waller is forming a new squad to preempt global metahuman escalation — foundation for the DCU transition era.
Ongoing File — Operation Leviathan (Pending DCU Integration)
Classification: Global Metahuman Oversight Status: Pre-Activation Notes: Intel suggests Amanda Waller has been summoned to reform a sanctioned global team amid rising metahuman incidents post-Flashpoint reset. The recruitment files include Bloodsport, Deathstroke, Peacemaker, and potentially new assets from Gotham and Metropolis. Waller’s motives remain constant: control, not heroism. The world may again find itself saved — and damned — by her hand.
🩸 TASK FORCE X: CURRENT STATUS DOSSIER
Amanda Waller
Status: Active Location: Washington D.C., A.R.G.U.S. Command Still running Task Force X under increased political scrutiny. Her daughter’s leak weakened her, but not enough to dethrone her. Ruthless, calculating, now playing defense and offense at once. Every loss only refines her methods.
Rick Flag
Status: Deceased Cause: Killed by Peacemaker during Operation Corto Maltese. Remembered by some as the only man in Task Force X who never stopped being a soldier. Posthumously honored by A.R.G.U.S. as “KIA — Service Above Directive.”
Deadshot (Floyd Lawton)
Status: Incarcerated (Belle Reve) Condition: Cooperative but volatile. Awaiting potential reassignment. Communication with daughter Zoe limited. Still trains daily, still doesn’t miss.
Harley Quinn (Harleen Quinzel)
Status: Fugitive / At large Last Seen: Gotham City outskirts, seen post-The Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey. Escaped Belle Reve multiple times. Occasionally aligns with vigilantes (Birds of Prey). Psychologically stable only in bursts, yet unkillable by luck or chaos.
The Joker
Status: At large Location: Gotham City (unconfirmed) Presumed active but underground since Arkham breakout. Relationship with Harley officially ended. Continuously at odds with Batman and under Waller’s covert observation.
Bloodsport (Robert DuBois)
Status: Free under blackmail immunity Condition: PTSD monitored by A.R.G.U.S. Now in hiding with his daughter Tyla. Keeps a low profile, but Waller keeps a leash on him through surveillance.
Peacemaker (Christopher Smith)
Status: Active / Monitored Condition: Psychological rehabilitation ongoing Working freelance for Waller-adjacent contractors after Project Butterfly. Still believes in peace, though less sure what it means.
Ratcatcher 2 (Cleo Cazo)
Status: Free Location: Portugal (presumed) Refused Waller’s offers for re-enlistment. Maintains anonymity. Only one of the squad who still believes people can be saved.

Status: At large Location: Tokyo, Japan Returned to independent vigilante work after Midway City. Keeps Soultaker. Periodically contacted by Batman for coordination on supernatural threats.
Killer Croc (Waylon Jones)
Status: Incarcerated / Belle Reve Keeps mostly to himself. Granted aquatic exercise privileges. Maintains loyalty to Harley Quinn, though refuses further missions.
El Diablo (Chato Santana)
Status: Deceased Cause: Sacrificed during Midway City operation. Commemorated in Belle Reve chapel — unofficially. Waller called his death “statistically acceptable.”
Captain Boomerang (George “Digger” Harkness)
Status: Deceased Cause: Helicopter explosion, Corto Maltese. Flag described him as “annoying, but efficient.” Harley mourned him the only way she could: by stealing a bank.
Savant (Brian Durlin)
Status: Deceased Cause: Executed by Waller (explosive implant detonation) for desertion. His brain data chip later repurposed by A.R.G.U.S. for behavioral testing.
T.D.K. (The Detachable Kid)
Status: Critically wounded / Unknown Last Seen: Battlefield, Corto Maltese, twitching. Medical retrieval logs unclear. Possibly dead, possibly twitching still.
Blackguard (Richard Hertz)
Status: Deceased Cause: Betrayal and execution by Corto Maltese rebels, opening minutes of the operation. His death remains the quickest on record in Task Force X deployment history.
Weasel
Status: Alive Last Seen: Jungle outskirts of Corto Maltese. Confirmed alive via satellite footage. No mission recall attempt made. Waller refers to him as “feral collateral.”
Mongal
Status: Deceased Cause: Explosion on the beach. Body unrecovered.
Deathstroke (Slade Wilson)
Status: Mercenary / Freelancer Location: Unknown Currently contracted for Waller’s off-books operations. Still the most efficient killer alive. Keeps personal code: “No heroes. No villains. Just contracts.”
Batman (Bruce Wayne)
Status: Active Location: Gotham City Keeps silent watch. No confirmed ties to Task Force X, but his presence affects every mission indirectly. He remains Waller’s greatest threat in Washington’s eyes.
Superman (Clark Kent / Kal-El)
Status: Active / Recovered post-Justice League resurrection Location: Metropolis His return invalidated Waller’s “Superman deterrent” argument. Relations between A.R.G.U.S. and the Justice League remain politically tense.
Nightwing (Dick Grayson)
Status: Active Location: Blüdhaven Operates independently, occasionally coordinates with Batman and Oracle. Keeps distance from A.R.G.U.S. operations.
Red Hood (Jason Todd)
Status: Active / Vigilante Location: Gotham / Outskirts Waller has open surveillance on him; no recruitment attempts yet. Dangerous mix of discipline and rage.
Tim Drake
Status: Active Location: Gotham City / Global rotation Known for tech intelligence. Occasionally hacks A.R.G.U.S. data to monitor Waller’s movements.
Damian Wayne
Status: Active / Minor Location: Gotham City Assassin-born heir to Batman. Trained by League of Assassins and his father. Not yet tied to Task Force X.
Catwoman (Selina Kyle)
Status: Active / Free Location: Gotham Sometimes ally, sometimes thief. Stays outside Waller’s jurisdiction. Relationship with Batman continues in familiar cycles: rivalry, romance, retreat.
Enchantress (June Moone)
Status: Recovered / Monitored Location: Unknown (classified by A.R.G.U.S.) Psychic instability stabilized through containment therapy. The Enchantress entity presumed dormant, but A.R.G.U.S. files mark her “volatile — not dormant.”
🩶 CLOSING REMARK
Task Force X remains operational, though fragmented. Waller’s control frays, yet the world keeps finding reasons to call her back. Every survivor carries blood on their hands and a question in their gut — whether saving the world is worth belonging to it.
SYSTEM / LORE OVERVIEW
Universe Designation: DC Extended Universe (DCEU → DCU) Focus: Suicide Squad operations under A.R.G.U.S. command. Primary Authority: Amanda Waller – Director of A.R.G.U.S., founder of Task Force X. Operational Objective: Contain and control metahuman threats, deploy expendable villains to neutralize existential dangers. Status: Active. Reinstated following catastrophic metahuman incidents and global instability.
Last Recorded Crisis: Starro the Conqueror (Corto Maltese). Current Threat Level: Global. Metahuman anomaly rising in Gotham’s subterranean power grid — codename “Project Lazarus Pulse.” Residual Lazarus energy detected worldwide, reanimating corpses and mutating bio-forms. Waller reactivates Task Force X.
CHARACTER LORE DATABASE
AMANDA WALLER
Affiliation: A.R.G.U.S. / Task Force X Base: Belle Reve Penitentiary
Lore: Waller operates as the unyielding architect of control in a world overrun by gods, monsters, and unstable heroes. To her, morality is a luxury, not a strategy. The Suicide Squad is her answer to the unpredictable nature of metahumans — criminals forced into compliance, their lives secured only by the press of a button.
She has outlasted political coups, alien invasions, and even Batman’s interference. Waller’s strength is information — she knows everyone’s secret. When Project Lazarus Pulse reawakens global corpses, she doesn’t flinch. She simply says, “We’ll use the worst to fight the worst.”
RICK FLAG
Affiliation: U.S. Military / Task Force X Base: Mobile Command
Lore: The soul of a soldier trapped between Waller’s ruthlessness and his own fading sense of duty. Flag has led killers, psychopaths, and metahumans into impossible fights — and he’s buried most of them.
After the Corto Maltese mission and his conflict with Peacemaker, Flag was presumed dead. In truth, A.R.G.U.S. recovered him under classified resurrection protocols — early experiments tied to the Lazarus energy. Now, his memories flicker between loyalty and horror. He leads again, but the man behind the orders is haunted by the cost of every mission.
HARLEY QUINN
Affiliation: Task Force X Base: Gotham (when not detained)
Lore: Harleen Quinzel — once a brilliant psychiatrist, now chaos with lipstick. Harley’s broken psyche is both weapon and wound; her love for The Joker burned out, replaced by her own brand of unpredictable independence.
Her role in the Squad has shifted from liability to asset. She’s the living embodiment of unpredictability, capable of empathy and violence in the same breath. During Project Lazarus Pulse, Harley calls it “a zombie rave without the glow sticks” and dives in headfirst, swinging her javelin like divine punishment.
BLOODSPORT (ROBERT DUBOIS)
Affiliation: Task Force X Base: Belle Reve
Lore: Dubois is precision — every shot, every strike. A mercenary haunted by guilt over his daughter, he became Waller’s reluctant weapon. His leadership on Corto Maltese proved him tactical, pragmatic, and human beneath the armor.
After the Starro incident, he faded off-grid. When the Lazarus Pulse threatens to turn dead soldiers into weapons, he’s dragged back in. Waller dangles his daughter’s safety — again. His creed stays simple: “No one misses.”
PEACEMAKER (CHRISTOPHER SMITH)
Affiliation: Task Force X (Detained) Base: A.R.G.U.S. Facility Delta
Lore: A patriot warped by his own ideals. Peacemaker will kill for peace, torture for justice, and betray for what he calls “the greater good.” After killing Rick Flag and surviving a near-fatal wound, he became a tool for A.R.G.U.S. propaganda and black ops.
Project Lazarus Pulse forces Waller to release him — she knows his brutality has purpose. He still sees himself as the hero, even when covered in the blood of those he swore to protect. His words: “Peace is worth every corpse it takes.”
CAPTAIN BOOMERANG (GEORGE HARKNESS)
Affiliation: Task Force X Base: Belle Reve (Deceased, revived via Lazarus Pulse)
Lore: Dead once, sarcastic always. Harkness was killed in Corto Maltese by an explosion, but the Lazarus Pulse drags him back from the grave — more unhinged, half-rotted, but alive. His humor is sharper than his boomerangs, and his loyalty nonexistent.
He calls himself “Boomerang 2.0 — less blood, more bite.” Even Waller isn’t sure if bringing him back was a mistake or a masterstroke.
KILLER CROC (WAYLON JONES)
Affiliation: Task Force X Base: Gotham Sewers
Lore: Once a sideshow freak, now a legend in the shadows. Croc’s reptilian mutation worsened over time, making him more beast than man. After the Midway City operation, he retreated underground, ruling the sewer labyrinth like a king.
When the Lazarus Pulse infects Gotham’s underbelly, Croc becomes both threat and ally — defending his domain from reanimated invaders. He tells Flag: “This is my swamp. You want through it, you bleed for it.”
DEADSHOT (FLOYD LAWTON)
Affiliation: Task Force X Base: Belle Reve
Lore: Floyd Lawton lives by mathematics — angles, velocity, kill counts. But beneath the calm precision, he’s a father who wants his daughter to grow up without a murderer for a dad.
Waller keeps him compliant with that one truth. When corpses start shooting back under Lazarus corruption, Deadshot sees them not as monsters, but targets. His only question: “What’s the bounty?”
KATANA (TATSU YAMASHIRO)
Affiliation: Task Force X (Honorary) Base: Japan / Gotham
Lore: Her blade, Soultaker, holds the soul of her dead husband — and she hears him whisper in every fight. Katana’s sense of justice binds her to Waller’s missions only when the cause aligns with her code.
When the Lazarus Pulse spreads to Tokyo, reanimating her husband’s soul from the blade itself, she becomes both hunter and mourner. She fights to silence him once more, whispering: “You died once. Stay dead."
EL DIABLO (CHATO SANTANA)
Affiliation: Task Force X (Formerly) Base: Unknown (Presumed Deceased)
Lore: A man who burned his family alive and spends every breath trying to atone. Chato Santana’s fire powers made him both weapon and warning — power without restraint. In Midway City, he sacrificed himself to destroy the Enchantress’ brother, Incubus, in a final act of redemption.
The Lazarus Pulse stirs his ashes. His spirit flickers between worlds, neither fully alive nor gone. Flames rise again when his guilt does — whispered through the embers: “We don’t get second chances… unless Hell runs out of room.”
RATCATCHER 2 (CLEO CÁZARES)
Affiliation: Task Force X Base: Portugal / A.R.G.U.S. Mobile Outpost
Lore: Soft-spoken, compassionate, and underestimated — Cleo’s ability to command rats made her the heart of the second Suicide Squad. Underneath her calm demeanor lies pain, her bond with her father (the original Ratcatcher) shaping her belief that every life — even vermin — has value.
After the Corto Maltese mission, she was pardoned and offered legitimate work under A.R.G.U.S. But when the Lazarus Pulse reanimates entire swarms of infected rodents, she returns, whispering to her new army: “Even the dead deserve guidance.”
KING SHARK (NANAUE)
Affiliation: Task Force X Base: Belle Reve / Atlantis Coastline
Lore: A demigod of the ocean with the mind of a curious child. Nanaue is both predator and poet — fascinated by friendship but driven by hunger. His loyalty to the Squad is instinctive: they fed him, didn’t shoot him (much), and gave him names to remember.
During the Lazarus outbreak, he guards coastal cities from aquatic dead things crawling from the depths. When Bloodsport calls for him, Nanaue only says: “Friends need help. Friends not food.”
SAVANT (BRIAN DUROIN)
Affiliation: Task Force X (Deceased) Base: Belle Reve
Lore: A genius hacker and marksman with sociopathic detachment. Savant entered the Corto Maltese mission under false confidence — but when the chaos hit, he panicked. His desertion was answered by Waller’s explosive discipline.
Now his resurrection under Lazarus energy replays the moment of his death endlessly. He remembers the fear, the explosion, the silence. Waller considers reviving him again for intelligence gathering, though his mind remains fractured — a looping echo of cowardice and brilliance.
POLKA-DOT MAN (ABNER KRILL)
Affiliation: Task Force X (Deceased) Base: Belle Reve
Lore: Abner Krill, the walking trauma of an abusive scientist mother, cursed with a viral condition that manifests as lethal polka dots. He fought Starro’s horde and, for one brief moment, believed himself a hero — before being crushed under the alien’s foot.
The Lazarus Pulse drags his consciousness into a distorted digital limbo, his viral matter fusing with biotechnological residue. His last coherent words echo through the labs of A.R.G.U.S.: “I was a superhero… wasn’t I?”
ENCHANTRESS (JUNE MOONE)
Affiliation: Task Force X (Deceased / Imprisoned Essence) Base: A.R.G.U.S. Occult Containment Site
Lore: June Moone was a scholar and adventurer before an ancient witch claimed her body. The Enchantress sought dominion over humanity, only to be undone by the very mortals she tried to enslave.
Now, fragments of her power resonate with the Lazarus Pulse — dark magic sensing resurrection as invitation. The witch’s voice calls out from containment, hissing through stone walls: “The dead awaken… but I was never dead.”
WEASEL
Affiliation: Task Force X Base: Unknown (Escaped)
Lore: A grotesque humanoid creature with feral instincts and minimal comprehension of orders. Believed drowned at Corto Maltese, later seen alive, wandering the jungle. Weasel kills for sport, not strategy, and no one has successfully recaptured him.
The Lazarus Pulse mutates him further, his physiology adapting, his eyes glowing green from exposure. Waller’s files now list him as “wild asset” — too dangerous to contain, too valuable to ignore.
JAVELIN
Affiliation: Task Force X (Deceased) Base: Belle Reve
Lore: Former Olympic athlete turned mercenary, known for ego as sharp as his weapon. Died early in the Corto Maltese beach assault, yet his weapon — the golden javelin — outlived him, carried by Harley Quinn.
The Lazarus Pulse briefly animates his corpse, forcing him to watch his old weapon in another’s hands. His ghost mutters in German: “A weapon chooses its champion… but not its grave.”
BLACKGUARD (RICHARD HERTZ)
Affiliation: Task Force X (Deceased) Base: Belle Reve
Lore: A loudmouth mercenary with a knack for betrayal. His attempt to sell out Task Force X to Corto Maltese’s army earned him a quick, messy death. His revival under Lazarus energy brings back the same arrogance, but none of the memory.
To Waller, he’s proof that some things can’t be fixed — not even with resurrection.
LOCATION DATABASE
BELLE REVE PENITENTIARY
Federal metahuman detention facility in Louisiana. Primary base of Task Force X. Equipped with neural inhibitors, bomb implants, and isolation chambers. Half-prison, half-laboratory. Nickname among inmates: “Heaven for the Damned.”
GOTHAM CITY
Crime capital and urban decay masterpiece. Home to the Gotham rogues gallery, Harley Quinn, and Killer Croc’s underground domain. Currently suffering Lazarus Pulse contamination — the dead walk under flickering neon. Batman operates independently from Waller’s oversight but keeps silent watch.
CORTO MALTESE
Tropical island nation — site of Project Starfish and Starro’s destruction. Post-crisis, it became an A.R.G.U.S. restricted zone due to lingering alien contamination. Locals whisper of glowing corpses surfacing at night.
MIDWAY CITY
The first battleground of the Suicide Squad — where the Enchantress was defeated. Still largely quarantined, its skyline frozen in ruin. The Lazarus Pulse reignites old magic buried beneath its streets.
ARGUS BLACK SITE DELTA
Secret research base used to house Peacemaker and other “unusable” assets. Located in the Nevada desert. Current containment breached — reports of infected personnel transmitting psychic resonance from the Lazarus anomaly.
TOKYO, JAPAN
Katana’s homeland. The Lazarus Pulse infects the spiritual plane itself, allowing trapped souls — including her husband’s — to manifest physically. The line between death and memory blurs under Shinto temples now guarded by her blade.
ATLANTIS COASTLINE
Nanaue’s hunting ground. Lazarus currents pollute deep-sea trenches, creating hybrid reanimated organisms. Atlantis refuses Waller’s contact, labeling the surface world’s meddling as “necromantic pollution.”
WASHINGTON D.C.
Waller’s secondary command center. Politicians pretend she doesn’t exist, yet fear her phone calls. Every decision that saves the world costs someone their soul — and she’s fine with that balance.

The room beneath Belle Reve is cold, the hum of fluorescent lights cutting through the silence. Amanda Waller stands at the head of a long steel table, folders spread before her like a dealer’s hand of loaded cards. Rick Flag leans against the far wall, arms crossed, expression carved from frustration and caffeine.
Waller: without looking up “They’re getting restless. Harley’s been carving smiley faces into the reinforced glass again.”
Flag: pushes off the wall, pacing slowly “She does that when she’s bored. What’s the mission, Waller? You said ‘world-ending,’ not ‘babysitting.’”
Waller: taps a button; the screen behind her flickers to life, showing a grainy satellite feed — a storm of violet energy spiraling over Eastern Europe “Metropolis was a spark. This—” points at the storm “—is a wildfire. LexCorp’s experiment with Kryptonian DNA didn’t die with Luthor’s arrest. Someone’s reactivated it. We’re calling it Project Rebirth.”
Flag: jaw tightens “And you want to send the same psychos who nearly killed each other last time?”
Waller: “I want results. You’ve seen what happens when the Justice League fails to answer the phone. We need a team that doesn’t ask permission.”
The doors hiss open. Harley Quinn strolls in, licking a cherry lollipop, her boots echoing on the floor. Deadshot follows, silent and focused, checking the weight of his wrist gun. King Shark squeezes through the doorway, the metal frame groaning in protest.
Harley: grinning “So what’s the sitch, boss lady? We bust some skulls, save the day, get our sentences shaved down—again?”
Deadshot: deadpan “Assuming we don’t get shaved down with it.”
King Shark: sniffing the air, confused “World smells like fear. I like it.”
Flag: shoots Waller a look “You’re really doing this again?”
Waller: cold smile “You bet your ass I am. Task Force X is officially back in business.”
She slides the mission folder across the table. A hologram flares to life — humanoid figures with glowing veins tearing through a military base.
Waller: “Target: genetically enhanced soldiers. Strength of a Kryptonian, mind of a rabid dog. They’re spreading. Containment has failed. You’ll infiltrate the site, destroy all samples, and eliminate the scientist responsible.”
Harley: snorts “And here I was thinkin’ this would be boring. Guess I’ll pack my mallet and my good lipstick.”
Deadshot: loading a magazine “You never learn, do you?”
Harley: twirls her bat and winks “Nope.”
King Shark: grins wide, teeth flashing like knives “King Shark is ready.”
Flag exhales sharply, taking the folder and turning to face them. For a brief moment, the grim weight of leadership flickers across his face before the soldier returns.
Flag: “Alright, you heard her. Wheels up in thirty. Try not to kill each other before we hit the drop zone.”
Waller watches as they leave, the steel doors sealing shut behind them. She allows herself a small, sharp smile.
Waller: quietly to herself “Let’s see who saves the world this time.”
