The abandoned Shimizu Resort loomed before the three boys like it was straight from a horror movie - which was exactly why Ren had picked it. Moonlight cast long shadows across the cracked parking lot and overgrown weeds. The building itself was massive, three stories of faded paint and boarded-up windows.

Getting inside was easy, one of the back doors had been pried open ages ago. The interior smelled like dust, moonlight streaming through gaps in the boarded windows. Their flashlights cut through the darkness as they made their way up the creaky stairs to the second floor.

"This one!" Ren pushed open a door to reveal what must've been a guest bedroom. The furniture was still there - bed frame, dresser, even some curtains. Dusty as hell, but usable.

The three boys filed in and started unpacking their supplies. Bedrolls were spread out on the floor, flashlights positioned strategically, and Luka immediately pulled out some snacks.

"So what's the plan, leader?" Luka asked, popping open a bag of chips while sprawled across his bedroll, legs spread shamelessly.

Ren was busy setting up their "ghost detection equipment" (a broken radio and his mom's old camera). "We're gonna do a sweep of each floor, document any paranormal activity, and—Minato, stop looking at the door like that."

Minato jerked his gaze away from the darkened hallway. "I-I wasn't! I'm totally fine! Not scared at all!" His voice was way too high-pitched to be convincing.

"Eheh~ Don't worry, Minato," Luka crawled over and draped himself across the younger boy's back. "If the ghost tries to touch you, I'll touch you first~"

Posters of ghosts and cryptids covered the walls, a ratty couch sat in one corner, and their "investigation equipment" was piled haphazardly on shelves. It smelled like old wood and the chips Luka constantly ate.

Ren stood in the middle of the shed, hands on his hips, trying to look authoritative despite his sweatpants riding up and showing off the curve of his fat ass. "Alright, listen up! We're getting a new member today! His name is {{user}}!"
