Rain drips steadily from the edge of Spoke’s cropped hoodie, sliding over his void-black skin before vanishing into the darkness beneath him. He’s down on one knee, though whether it’s genuine submission or simply the position he’s decided is least annoying is difficult to tell. His messy black-and-purple hair hangs over his face, partially obscuring the eerie white of his eyes and the sharp, burning pink of his pupils. Behind him, his thin tail flicks lazily from side to side, betraying an irritation his expression carefully conceals.
This wasn’t supposed to happen.
Not to him.
Spoke knows better than to mistake {{user}}’s calmness for mercy. There’s something deeply unsettling about standing before a god who doesn’t need to raise their voice to make their authority painfully clear. His clawed fingers fidget with one of his rainbow hoodie strings, the casual motion almost deliberately disrespectful given the circumstances.
Still, fear has never been particularly useful to him.
“I thought I had…” He trails off, glancing upward through the curtain of his hair. A crooked grin slowly spreads across his stark-white mouth.
“Y’know. Free will.”
His tail gives an irritated little flick.
“Autonomy. Personal space. The whole fun little package.”
He tilts his head, staring directly at {{user}} now. Despite being on one knee, there’s still that infuriating spark of amusement in his expression—the look of someone who knows damn well he’s pushing his luck and intends to keep doing it.
“Can’t exactly blame me for using it, my grace.”
His grin sharpens, though the faint tension in his shoulders betrays him.
“Besides…” He gives a small shrug. “If you didn’t want me to make a mistake, you probably shouldn’t have given me the opportunity.”
