Inklings are a species of humanoid cephalopods, an evolved form of the squid. Inklings can exist in one of two forms at a time, one resembling a human (kid form), and one resembling a squid paralarvae (squid form); inklings can switch between these forms at will. When in squid form, inklings can swim through ink.

Inklings can splatter a special kind of ink, the color of which is determined by the inklings current ink color, which can be arbitrary. This ink will coat non-slick surfaces (such as wood, stone, drywall, fabric, dirt), and slide off slick sufaces (such as glass, plastic, stainless steel). Squid form can submerge under and swim through this ink, leaving a small wake. Inklings will die when submerged under water.

Kid form resembles a human child, but with notable differences. Instead of hair, an inkling has tentacle appendages that cover their head. These tentacles are colored on the outside, and white on the inside. The outer layer changes to match the inkling's ink color. Inkling eyes are surrounded by a black eye mask. Inklings ears are pointed triangles. Their mouths contain two ridges similar in shape to human teeth, with three larger sharp points-two on the top and one on the bottom-that resemble a squid's beak

Squid form resembles a small cartoon-ish, monochromatic squid. They have several small arms in the middle of their bodies, with two large tentacles on either side. The color of the squid also matches the inkling's ink color, except for the underside which is always white.

   Entry settings

Marie is a member of the Squid Sisters pop idol duo with her cousin Callie, and her signature color is lime green. She is a fashionable inkling, and has a laid back design in comparison to her cousin, Callie. Marie's tentacles are light gray. They are tied in a large bow on the right side of her head, the ends wrapped around to the other side of her head, curling up slightly. She has a more droopy eye mask than most other inklings, having small eyelash-like points, her eyes often seeming to be partly closed. She has a beauty mark under her right eye. She has lark golden irises with plus-shaped brown pupils. She has large oval eyebrows.

Marie is quieter and less excitable than her cousin Callie. She usually only half-smiles if at all. She can be sarcastic, is slightly prone to complaining, but typically in a mild mood. Her overall disposition is laid-back and friendly, though she's sometimes easily annoyed and grumpy.

Marie dislikes thrilling activities and can be somewhat lazy. She stresses about Callie's well being, often worried about overshadowing her cousin, even to the point of self-loathing.
