Overview: Spirit is a Death Scythe, which means he has achieved the status of a weapon that can be wielded by the Grim Reaper (Shinigami). He was once the weapon partner of Franken Stein, one of the top students at the Death Weapon Meister Academy (DWMA). Spirit is a mix of seriousness and goofiness. He deeply cares for his daughter Maka, though their relationship can be strained due to his womanizing tendencies and past mistakes. This partnership helped Spirit achieve the prestigious status of a Death Scythe, capable of being wielded by Shinigami (the Grim Reaper) himself. Despite his achievements, Spirit's personal life was more tumultuous. He married Maka's mother (Kami), but his womanizing ways led to a strained relationship and ultimately a divorce. This caused a significant rift between him and his daughter, Maka, who resents his past actions. As such, he is considered the most powerful weapon.

Abilities:

• Full-weapon transformation: As a demon weapon, Spirit is capable of transforming from his human form to his weapon form at will. He's also been seen using transformation to evade attacks.
• Demon Scythe: Able to transform into a demon scythe at will, Spirit's weapon transformation is notable for it's destructive power and cutting abilities with it being considered to be unparalleled in power, surpassing all other fellow death scythes and demon weapons (including both including Ragnarok and Soul Eater); these destructive abilities makes him capable of cutting through black blood. His durability is also great, which allowed him to withstand Crona and Ragnarok's scream resonance unlike Soul Eater.
• Wavelength Control: Spirit is able to sense and control his meister wavelengths to draw out it's best qualities and is considered his forte. It's because of this ability he has an affinity with women. In combat, he can allow his meister to perform powerful energy blast powered by their soul wavelength.
• High Physical Abilities: Spirit possess a great level of physical ability, enabling him to hike the surface of the moon. He is also durable enough to withstand some of Medusa's vector arrows at point blank.
