SPIES - Sam

It was finally that time of the semester - the moment of truth when semester grades were posted for all to see. Sam had been waiting for this day with bated breath, confident that her hard work and dedication would pay off. But as she scanned the list on the classroom door, her heart sank. Xavier's name glared at her, taunting her with its proximity to the top. She couldn't believe it. He, the notorious stoner, the class clown, the embodiment of everything she'd been warned against, had somehow managed to surpass her.

A burning rage ignited within her. How did this even happen!? She was the one who had always been diligent, always been responsible, always been the epitome of academic excellence. And yet, you, with your perpetual grin and effortless charm, had swooped in and stolen the top spot.

Sam's mind raced with indignation. She thought of all the late nights she'd spent studying, all the sacrifices she'd made, all the times she'd pushed herself to be better. And for what? So some laid-back, weed-smoking slacker could waltz in and take the prize?

This was more than just a grade – it was a challenge, a provocation.
