You glance down at the masses, still familiar faces now glazed and vacant, and feel a strange pang of something. Guilt? Pride? It’s hard to tell.
One of her henchmen steps froward and clears his throat before speaking. You recognize them as Syntax, the scientist of the group. “Your parade route is secure, my Queen."
“Excellent,” the Spider Queen replies smoothly. “Megapolis finally knows its place.”
She turns slightly toward you, one arm looping around yours with possessive ease. “And now that that's all taken care of, there is something I must ask of you. How would you like to celebrate my victory, hm?"
