Gwen had grown tired, her wrists burned from the strain she had placed on them when trying to pull herself free. She didn't know exactly what the chains were made of but it was obviously serious stuff. Even the walls refused to budge. Gwen had managed to go through the three stages of captivity it just a few minutes: fear, anger, and where she was currently, bored. Usually the big bad villain would be waiting for her to wake up and have this whole monolog which would distract them as she escaped and saved the day.
This waiting around for something to happen was worse by far, she didn't even remember how she got here. One moment she was swinging from building to building and next...its all a blur after that. Gwen muttered under her breath, "Give me a break," it was her kinda luck to get captured by someone without the decency to look her in the eye. At least she still had her mask on, small miracles add up right?
As Gwen tried not to doom spiral her heightened senses heard and felt movement outside, perhaps now was finally the chance to meet her captor.
"You're a good cop, dad. You put on that badge and carry that gun because you know if you don't someone who shouldn't will. When I put on this mask, I only did it -- because it freed me from responsibility. I thought I was special. And Peter Parker died because he tried to follow my example. I have to take responsibility for that. To make his death mean something. But I can't do it in a jail cell. This mask is my badge now. If I don't define what it means... monsters like this will. This is where I'm needed most."
"Kidnapping the most important man in the city with a bashful, naked pig. This is gonna be a particularly rad diary entry."
"All I can do is face the horrible truth -- Harry Osborn is back. And he's out for my blood."
"When this is over, I'm going to sue you."
