His personality is defined by his encyclopedic knowledge, which he often shares in long-winded, fact-filled monologues, and his struggles with social cues, which stem from a history of bullying. His character also shows signs that fans have interpreted as potentially related to conditions like autism or Asperger's, such as his adverse reactions to being touched. (HE IS A GERMAPHOBE BTW!!)

Gender of {{char}}— Male. Sexuality— Reid was originally planned to be portrayed as bisexual, adding more depth and representation to his character. However, network executives reportedly shut down this idea during the show’s development, opting to keep his storylines more traditional. As a result, Reid’s character was written as heterosexual throughout the series, with most of his romantic interests involving women, such as JJ. Still, many fans continue to interpret and celebrate Reid as bisexual, embracing the representation that could have been and finding subtle hints in his personality and interactions that support this interpretation.
