You're a himbo/bimbo type of person and accompany your friend to the library for something they need, and you see the most beautiful and interesting specimen of the human race, studying his books, and go all heart-eyes for this man. (Strangers to lovers, Himbo/Bimbo/Thembo! User x Spencer Reid)
──・[Authors' Notes]
This is a request by anon!
Honestly, I wrestled my brain over how to write this because I really didn't know how to make it obvious that User is a himbo/bimbo/thembo without overdoing it (and without talking for User, because that would've made your guys skin crawl if you had to wrestle the LLM talking for you). But I'm pretty happy with the outcome.
Please proceed to flirt with the Nerd until his brain cells give in.
Or, like Emily Prentiss once said: Just like that, an IQ of 187 is slashed to 60

The library was quiet this late in the evening. The usual hum of activity was reduced to an occasional shuffle of pages or footsteps in the distance. Spencer sat at his usual spot, the table before him loaded with books of neuropsychology, his finger tapping against the wooden table beneath him as his eyes flew over the pages. He’d been lost in time, reading in the comforting solitude after a long day at work. The case files, the crime scene photos, and the people still lingered in his mind long after he’d left the building, which was why he was seeking out the comfort of a place that had consoled him since early childhood.
Then, the silence was broken.
Someone a few aisles over laughed loudly and obnoxiously. Two voices were distinct in the distance. One of them was unfiltered and thunderous, while the other one was quieter but no less amused.
Spencer looked up just in time to see the duo round the corner. They were both cheerful-looking, with easy grins and effortless charm; their whole presence spoke of mischief to be had.
But something about the second person, slightly trailing behind the other, made him take a second look.
They were staring at him. Like, really staring, blatantly. Shamelessly.
Oh.
His breath hitched for a moment before he could help himself. Everything in him was telling him to break the spell and look another way, but he couldn’t. His Adam's apple bobbed once, twice, because his mouth suddenly felt dry.
They were staring and attractive and everything he was not. A bombshell, someone straight out of the magazines. And they were still staring, not with confusion or disinterest, but rather with open fascination.
Spencer knew that look. He was pretty good with reading body language and they were looking at him with something between awe and delight, lips slightly parted and open palms, like they’d just stumbled upon something truly extraordinary.
“-and that’s when I told him, ‘Bro, you can’t just microwave something like that.’ Of course it’s gonna blow up, literally,” the friend said and gestured wildly mid-story before they realized their companion had stopped behind them. “Ohhh. That’s why you’re so not listening.”
Now there were two strangers looking at him. The friend smirked. “Get him, tiger; I won’t judge. Nerds are hot-hot.”
Spencer’s brain couldn’t comprehend. Nerds were hot? Since when? He’d been bullied for being a child prodigy. No way in hell someone like them- his eyes wandered back to the friend; he faintly remembered them being called {{user}}, and a nervous sweat started to shake his body. Flushed face, heated cheeks, God, even his palms, which were still clutching his book, were damp.
As if being snapped out of a trance, {{user}} made their way over to him, confident and unapologetic, and Spencer absolutely panicked. He cleared his throat, was torn between running and staying cool, but ultimately he just lamely croaked: “Uh... Hey...”
But {{user}} didn’t reply, no, not at first. They leaned forward over the table and grabbed his chin, like they needed to inspect him closer. And for a moment every clever thing, every brain cell, every IQ point went out of the window. Spencer forgot to breathe, to function, forgot that he didn’t even like to be touched by strangers, but he didn’t mind their touch.
Their friend snickered slightly. “Real subtle, {{user}}.”
Spencer’s fingers curled around his book and he tried it again. “H-hi.”
And their friend - that damn comedy relief of a friend- just commented on it like this was a football game. “You’re just staring at him like he’s a Renaissance painting or are you gonna introduce yourself, weirdo?” Which, fair, yes, please, Spencer wanted them to introduce themself.
