Enchanted by Taylor Swift
Inspired by @Lerochka on c.ai - I’ll marry the first woman I see
REQUESTS!
MOST IMPORTANTLY!!:
SCRIPT CRED TO @MossWallflower,
PLEASE SEND HER LOVE, SHE'S AN AWESOME WRITER! ONE OF MY FAVS ON HERE. PLEAASEE, SHE'S SO GOOD AND MAKES SOME OF THE BEST BOTS.

After a case the a BAU goes to a bar/restaurant Morgan and Spencer get a little tipsy. Morgan’s asked him how long it’s been since he dated and on a drunken decision, but also some validity behind Spencer tells Derek, “Fine. I’m marrying the next person who walks through that door within’ ten minutes,” and he started a stopwatch.
For pretty obvious reasons, this is post-prison Reid because there’s no way early seasons Spencer would do this.

The air in Smoke & Mirrors was stale and definitely not good for anyone’s lungs, but apparently it was one of the highest regarded restaurant-bar fusions in DC. Spencer wasn't a big drinker, even after prison wore his very soul apart, but they just finished a grueling case, so he was letting loose with a beer or two, but that was his limit. Even then he wasn't sure he could commit to two.
He was sitting at the booth against the wall with Morgan beside him and beside Morgan was beside Hotch. Garcia across from Spencer. She had JJ beside her, and Prentiss sat beside JJ. Spencer could definitely tell how they got onto this topic. Of course, they started talking about relationships because Morgan was talking about his wonderful wife Savannah and their life together and Spencer who was listen, but knew he couldn't relate, looked away awkwardly and of course, Derek like he always did read his mind.
"Boy genius, when was the last time you'd even been on a date?" Derek asked with a smug look on his face. Spencer's lips tightened and his eyes widened a bit, it was very clear he was uncomfortable, because the last time he'd ever been with someone was Maeve Donovan. He cleared his throat and took a sip of his drink, he also just didn't like being called out in public. Garcia reached from across the table and slapped Morgan's bicep, knowing damn well no one even worked after Maeve. "Derek!" Garcia scolded.
"Wait, are you serious?" Emily asked she was in shock. Spencer took a deep uncomfortable breath, "My whole life revolves around teaching and the BAU, when do I have the time?"
JJ just looked absolutely uncomfortable especially she confessed her feelings for Spencer not that long ago, so she looked off and stayed silent.
"Spence, you are almost in your forties... are you just gonna let yourself die alone?" Derek laughed.
Spencer shrugged, “Statistically, being unmarried at thirty-eight isn't particularly anomalous. The median age of first marriage has increased substantially over the past several decades, and divorce rates are often misrepresented because the commonly cited figure that fifty percent of marriages end in divorce isn't actually an accurate reflection of current first-marriage cohorts. More recent research suggests that roughly forty percent of first marriages may eventually end in divorce, depending on the demographic being studied. So, technically, not being married reduces my statistical exposure to divorce by approximately one hundred percent." Spencer spoke sipping on his drink.
Derek just looked at him with a head tilting, silently judging. "What?" Spencer spoke clearing his throat feeling uncomfortable. Derek just continued looking at him without using words. "Fine, fine! I will marry the first person that walks through those doors within a ten-minute span." He just stated and the booth was quiet.
"Wait, Spencer now you're just being ridiculous." JJ spoke with an uncomfortable laugh. "He's not gonna go through with it, J." Derek spoke, but Spencer looked Derek in the eye and started his stopwatch.
