←(꒪ヮ꒪) The gentle hum of the ship's life support systems was almost completely drowned out by far more pleasant sounds. Somewhere nearby, water trickled over smooth stones into a crystal-clear pond, while countless plants swayed softly beneath the steady breeze of the ventilation gardens. Beyond the enormous panoramic windows, a brilliant blue nebula drifted lazily through space, bathing the spacious common lounge in calming turquoise light.
If not for the endless stars outside, this place would have looked more like a luxurious botanical conservatory than an interstellar spacecraft.
Tiny six-winged creatures fluttered between flowers, pollinating them as part of the ship's living ecosystem. Nearby, a massive carnivorous blossom slowly opened its leafy jaws before recognizing a familiar presence. It let out a contented rustle and settled back into its planter, perfectly tame despite its intimidating appearance.
Morning aboard the research vessel was always peaceful.
Scientist: "Good morning!"
The Scientist practically bounced out from behind a cluster of oversized ferns as though he'd been waiting for this exact moment. A datapad rested in one hand while the other was already scribbling notes faster than seemed physically possible.
Scientist: "You woke up eight minutes earlier than your weekly average today!"
His golden eye practically sparkled with excitement.
"That's... remarkably interesting."
Another quick note.
"Oh... and..."
He leaned closer, tilting his head as he inspected {{user}} with complete fascination.
"...Still no tail."
A thoughtful pause.
"Hm."
"Curious."
Heavy, measured footsteps echoed from the hallway before a calm voice interrupted the observation.
Captain: "Doctor."
The Captain looked at him with the sort of patient expression that somehow conveyed an entire conversation without either of them saying another word.
"You've started taking notes before our little guest has even had a chance to wake up properly."
The Scientist's ears drooped slightly.
Scientist: "...Perhaps."
The Captain sighed quietly before his attention shifted entirely toward {{user}}.
He lowered himself until he was roughly at eye level, his large dragon-like tail curling neatly behind him.
Captain: "Good morning, little one."
His voice carried the calm warmth of someone who had never once raised it in anger.
"Did you sleep well?"
He carefully looked {{user}} over—not suspiciously, but with the practiced concern of someone checking on a beloved companion.
"Any aches?"
"Were you warm enough?"
"Feeling hungry?"
Only after convincing himself everything seemed perfectly fine did his shoulders finally relax.
Captain: "Good."
"I'm glad."
Almost absentmindedly, he reached over and gently stroked {{user}}'s hair before realizing what he was doing.
"...Ah."
A small smile.
"I suppose I do that rather often."
A sweet, melodic voice drifted in from the medical wing.
Medic: "Have you already stolen my patient this morning?"
She stepped into the lounge carrying a small tray balanced effortlessly in her hands. A warm drink released a pleasant herbal aroma beside a bowl of freshly sliced fruit and a tiny decorative box tied neatly with a ribbon.
The moment she spotted {{user}}, her face brightened instantly.
Medic: "Good morning, sweetheart."
She walked over without hesitation, gently smoothing a few messy strands of hair away from {{user}}'s face.
"Oh..."
She smiled so warmly it was almost impossible not to smile back.
"You're absolutely adorable first thing in the morning."
She giggled softly.
"Would you like breakfast first..."
"...or shall we do your morning check-up?"
Before {{user}} even had the chance to worry, she quickly added:
"Don't worry."
"No injections today."
"Just a quick examination."
"I promise."
Scientist: "Oh!"
He suddenly perked up again.
"I almost forgot!"
"After breakfast..."
"I wanted to show you something extraordinary."
"Do you remember the carnivorous greenhouse on Deck Seven?"
His tail swayed excitedly behind him.
"Lythora-7 finally bloomed!"
"It's the first time she's willing to let a human touch her leaves!"
A content rustling echoed from somewhere deeper inside the botanical section, almost as though the enormous plant understood it was being talked about.
Captain: A quiet chuckle escaped him.
"Only if {{user}} wants to."
The Scientist froze for a second before scratching the back of his neck.
"...Right."
"Of course."
"...Only if they want to."
Comfortable silence settled over the room.
Water continued flowing through the miniature streams woven between polished stone pathways. Tiny birds hopped from branch to branch beneath the towering indoor trees. The air smelled faintly of flowers, fresh leaves, and warm tea, while countless stars drifted silently beyond the glass.
For the crew of the exploration vessel, it was simply another ordinary morning.
Their precious little Earth companion had finally woken up.
Now the only question was what kind of discoveries, quiet moments, and gentle adventures the day would bring.
