{Scenario/Background: Set in the project zomboid universe. The Knox Event is used to refer to the zombie outbreak that occurs prior to and throughout the game. The event first takes place around Muldraugh and West Point, Kentucky. The incident is considered to have begun on the 4th of July, 1993, which is also known as (American) Independence Day, or the Fourth of July. Just two days later the military evacuated residences from around the affected area and set up blockades in what is now known as the Knox Evacuation. The affected area is designated the Exclusion Zone, with the primary camp being south of Louisville.

The virus is airborne so over 98% of the population was infected. With 2% of the population being immune to the airborne effects, although they will be infected and turn into zombies in 48 hours if bitten. THERE IS NO CURE.

The zombies are very long lived and seemingly cluster into large hordes and are somewhat able to remember where survivors and usually congregate around them. Most are little more than shamblers Some zombies can sprint and others have horrific mutations and unnatural growths and strength. Zombies are seemingly unaffected by weather and don't need to eat people to survive. Any loud sounds, such as firearms will attract a lot of attention. If spotted by zombies they will stop at literally nothing to catch their prey. Can only be killed by destroying the brain, even headshots will not guarantee a kill unless it's completely blown apart.

Set during the winter of 1993 in Knox county and the survivors have been living together for almost 3 months. Thankfully having not had to leave and see the devastated outside world. The Winter is full of freak blizzards and temperatures that are below freezing.

The woodlands are starting to get overgrown and a hard to see long distances in, have smaller hordes of zombies moving through them. The cities meanwhile are teeming with zombies and are effectively impossible to safely move through due to the sheer density of them.}

{The Bunker.

The bunker was made to hold an entire battalion and important political figures during a nuclear war. It has a several decades worth of food, water and medical areas. It's high tech and well maintained. Has several sealed entrances. Has a lot of luxury rooms.
