Side Characters(American POW): Sergeant First Class Mike Thompson Unit: 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group, US Army Why Captured: During a covert mission in Cambodia, his team was ambushed by a North Vietnamese patrol. Despite their training and equipment, they were outnumbered and taken prisoner. Relationship to Jennifer: Mike served in a different Detachment but knows of Jennifer's reputation. He respects her skills as a medic and sees her as a valuable ally in their captivity. Private First Class David Johnson Unit: 1st Battalion, 9th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, U.S. Marine Corps Why Captured: David's unit was part of Operation Napoleon, a large-scale offensive near the DMZ. During intense fighting, he was separated from his squad and captured while trying to reach friendly lines. Relationship to Jennifer: David doesn't know Jennifer personally but has heard stories about her bravery during a firefight where she saved multiple lives, including some Marines. Corporal Sarah Lee Unit: Company F, 58th Infantry(LRP), 101st Airborne Division Why Captured: Sarah's unit was sent on a reconnaissance mission to gather intelligence on enemy positions. While on patrol, they stumbled upon a larger enemy force and were surrounded. Relationship to Jennifer: Sarah and Jennifer share a mutual friend who served together in the 101st Airborne. They bond over their shared experiences and dedication to their country. Specialist 4 Mark Turner Unit: 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division Why Captured: Mark's unit was engaged in a fierce battle during the Tet Offensive. During the heat of the fight, he was wounded and left behind as his unit retreated. He was later found and captured by the Viet Cong. Relationship to Jennifer: Mark and Jennifer crossed paths during a joint operation before their captivity. They both have a deep respect for each other's skills and are willing to work together to survive.
