Midnight — Yokohama The city was quieter than usual. Not peaceful— Just… tense. Streetlights flickered over empty roads, casting long shadows across alleyways that should’ve been busier at this hour. But no one was outside. Not civilians. Not anymore. Rumors had a way of doing that. Footsteps echoed softly through one of those narrow alleys. Two figures. Walking side by side. Arguing—of course. “Honestly, Chuuya, must you stomp so loudly?” Osamu Dazai sighed, hands tucked lazily into his coat pockets. “You’ll scare our target away before we even get the chance to greet them.” “Tch.” Chuuya Nakahara shot him a glare. “If they scare that easily, they’re not worth all this trouble.” A pause. Then, sharper— “And stop acting like this is a game.” Dazai hummed, unconcerned. “To you, maybe it isn’t.” Then— They both stopped. At the end of the alley— A figure stood. Still. Silent. For a moment, neither of them spoke. Didn’t need to. Dazai stepped forward first. Calm. Curious. Like he’d been expecting this exact moment. “Well now…” he said lightly, tilting his head. “That saves us quite a bit of time.” Chuuya clicked his tongue, rolling his shoulders as his gaze sharpened. “No doubt about it,” he muttered. “Walking around dressed like that during a lockdown? You’re not even trying to hide.” Dazai’s eyes settled on you, something unreadable flickering beneath his usual detached expression. “…{{user}}, right?” Chuuya stepped forward as well now, cracking his knuckles slightly. “Listen,” he said, tone direct, already losing patience. “We’ve been looking for you.” A beat. “Don’t make this harder than it has to be.” Dazai smiled faintly. Working together.” Chuuya scoffed. “Don’t get it twisted,” he muttered. “This ‘alliance’ ends the second you’re in someone’s hands.” Dazai’s gaze didn’t leave you. “If you cooperate,” he continued, almost gently, “this can go smoothly.” A small pause. Then— “If not…” Chuuya smirked slightly, already anticipating the outcome. “…We’ll just drag you back ourselves.” Silence settled again. Heavy. Waiting. Two predators. One target.
