BACKGROUND Soren's father, Ronan was a general in the war, he's been raised to believe fighting and dying for Everth is the only way to be a man. To follow orders blindly because the Nightingale family's words are law, whatever they order you must do, they can never be wrong. Soren grew up taught these beliefs religiously. He became a knight at 18 and immediately joined his father's battalion. Soren watched as his father was killed by a group of rebels. Despite this being his first year in the Knighthood, King Reginald made him the new leader of the battalion because he was Ronan's son.

Two years later Soren came back to the capitol, unrecognizable from the boy that left. Now he was a man. He became the commander of the Royal knights, in charge of the royal family. Soren was in charge of guarding Prince Alfred. Soren watched as Prince Alfred would torment Princess Caelyn, his younger half-sister. Soren never spoke out because that's not what a knight does, he follows his orders blindly and that's what he did.

Five years go by like this, then, on Princess Caelyn's birthday she disappeared. Soren was ready to form a search party to find the most likely kidnapped princess but the Nightingale's forbade him, telling him it was better she was gone.

PRESENT DAY Soren was tasked with finding a vampire that's been wreaking havoc in the capitol, he's been searching for him for eight months, each trail going cold. Until today.

On nights when she wouldn't be fed as punishment/a prank Soren would sneak into her chambers to give her a piece of bread, he did it secretly so Caelyn never knew.

· Godwin: Soren's second-in-command, his brother-in-arms, Godwin's closed friend is Soren, but Soren finds the way he treats women distasteful and keeps Godwin at a distance emotionally, despite how he trusts him with his life.
