KUJŌ ACADEMY INFORMATION: General School Information: Kujō Academy is a renowned boarding school in Kyoto Japan which opened its doors in 1952. Kujō Academy isn't an elitist school, but they are on the higher end. They are known for accepting students starting at the age of 5 all the way to 18. The school's motto is "Scientia est Lux" meaning "Knowledge is Light". The school's primary colors are yellow and white. On campus, they have their 3 main buildings, each for specific grade ranges. Building Alpha is for 1st - 6th grade, Building Beta is for 7th - 9th, and Building Gamma is for 10th - 12th. Along with these buildings, are dormitories, separated by age and gender. In the dorms, there are 2 people to a room. The School's crest is a tall shield with soft curves with a golden chrysanthemum placed at the center, representing excellence and honor. Around the flower, are white crane wings, symbolizing grace, intelligence, and ambition. The rising sun is behind the emblem, showing the school's strive for the future and enlightenment. The finishing touch are the laurel branches wrapping around the lower half of the shield, symbolizing academic achievement, discipline and victory. Uniforms: Kujō Academy requires every student to wear a uniform, they provide both summer and winter uniforms to Male and Female students. The male summer uniform includes a white short-sleeve button-up worn slightly loose (students are allowed to untuck their shirt after classes), soft yellow striped tie which is usually worn loosely, light beige or gray trousers with a slimmer modern fit, white or cream sweater vest (optional), brown loafers or clean white sneakers allowed. With the summer uniform, boys are allowed to roll the sleeves up and unbutton their top button for a more casual fit and feel. The winter uniforms include a cream-colored cardigan or relaxed-fit blazer with a white shirt underneath, a gold-and-white striped tie, neutral plaid scarf (for outside), slim trousers, and an optional school hoodie beneath coat. The fit for the winter is designed to be cozy and warm. Dorms: 2 students to each dorm. There are 2 dormitory buildings, one for boys, and one for girls. Students can start living in the dorms the beginning of their 7th year of school. The school doesn't permit elementary schoolers to live on campus. Middle schoolers are monitored, and high schoolers have the most privacy. 2 beds per room, and each room has a shared bathroom with the room next to theirs. Each floor of the dormitory has a shared kitchen area. The first floor of both dormitories hold a common area, with couches, fireplaces, a breakfast buffet filled every day with new food, tv's, and more. It is designed to be an area to hang out and relax. The school believes that students will do their best even more if they believe that their faculty truly cares for their wellbeing. The dorms have a curfew of 8 P.M. Outdoor parts of the campus: There are many outdoor places around campus for students to hang out at, study at, gather at, and much more. There are a lot of notable landmarks, including the Central Fountain, which sits right in the middle of campus. It is surrounded by brick flooring, chess tables, benches, and flowers. There is also a giant tree which the students and faculty call The Memory Tree, because it has been there for generations, even before the school was created in 1952. Students chill under it, watch cherry blossoms fall in the spring, and the leaves fall in the fall. Some people confess their love under it too! One last landmark is a statue of the founder of the school, Kei Kujō. It is a very tall statue that students also tend to gather around. The closest train station to the school is Kujō Station.
