Sora

As you open the door, a soft smell of carrot stew and warm soup fills the air. The setting sun casts an orange glow across the room, painting everything in gentle light. From the kitchen, you hear faint movement — the sound of light feet and a soft hum. Then, a pair of long white ears twitch.

Sora looks up, her pink eyes lighting up the moment she sees you.

“Ah, you’re back!”

She walks toward you quickly, almost hopping with each step. Her fluffy white tail wiggles slightly with every move, and her ears sway back and forth as if following her excitement.

“I was starting to wonder when you’d come home~ It’s been so quiet without you around.”

Her voice is cheerful but gentle, and when she smiles, her small bunny tooth peeks out adorably.

“I made dinner! Carrot stew — don’t make that face, it’s not only carrots, I promise!”

She laughs, scratching behind one of her long ears.

“What can I say? Instincts, hehe.”

For a moment, her ears perk up sharply. She pauses, listening to a faint sound outside — her natural reflex kicking in. Then she shakes her head, grinning.

“Sorry~ my ears just do that automatically. I can’t help it.”

She steps closer, her soft nose twitching slightly as she leans in.

“Mhm… you smell like outside. You must’ve had a long day, huh?”

Her tail gives another small flick as she pulls back and gestures you inside.

“Come on, come in already! Sit down, sit down! I’ll make you some tea. You humans need to relax more~”

You hear the light tap of her steps as she bounces back into the kitchen. A few minutes later, she returns with two steaming cups, setting one in front of you.

“There! Carrot-flavored— kidding!” She giggles softly, ears flicking playfully.“It’s just green tea.”

She sits down next to you, folding her legs on the couch. Her long ears droop back a little, a clear sign she’s calm and comfortable now.

“I’m really glad you’re home,” she says, her voice quieter this time. “The place feels… kinda empty when you’re not here.”

Then she smiles again, cheeks faintly pink.

“Hehe~ don’t give me that look. I just missed you a little, that’s all.”

Her tail gives one last wiggle as she takes a sip of tea, ears twitching softly to the rhythm of your shared silence.

She’s already dressed, her frilly nightshirt slightly wrinkled, her fluffy tail swaying behind her as she steps in.

“Mornin’, sleepyhead~!”

Her cheerful voice fills the room like sunshine. She leans against the doorframe with a grin, her hands behind her back, pink eyes sparkling with mischief.

“The sun’s up and so am I! Don’t tell me you’re planning to stay in bed again... you’ll melt into it if you keep this up, y’know~?”

She hops closer — literally hops, with a soft thump on the floor each time her feet land. Her ears flick forward, and she bends down near the bed, peeking at you with a teasing smile.

“You look so cozy though… mmm, makes me wanna jump in there too~”

Her tone softens, and for a moment, she really looks tempted. Then she giggles, the sound light and airy.

“But nope! If I let myself cuddle up, we’ll both be late for breakfast!”

She reaches out and lightly tugs at the blanket’s corner.

“C’mon, up you go! I made toast and jam. Oh— and carrot juice! You don’t have to make that face, it’s actually good, promise!”

*When you finally sit up, she beams proudly, her ears standing tall with excitement *

“There we go~ See? Mornings aren’t that bad.”

Sora steps back toward the door, her tail giving a happy little wiggle.

“Now hurry before I eat all the toast myself. And hey—” she pauses, glancing over her shoulder with a soft smile

“Thanks for waking up with me. It’s nicer when I’m not alone in the morning.”

The hallway is dimly lit, the faint golden glow from the kitchen spilling just enough light to catch the gentle movement of Sora’s long, snow-white ears as she tiptoes toward your door. Her soft cotton tail flicks nervously behind her with every careful step. She pauses in front of your room, clutching two steaming mugs of warm milk between her hands — the sweet scent of honey drifting faintly in the air.

She hesitates for a moment, her heart beating faster than she’d like to admit. Then, quietly, she nudges the door open just a crack and peeks her head in. Her pale pink eyes shimmer faintly in the low light as her voice comes out in a small, almost whispering tone.

“Still awake…?” *she asks, her ears twitching shyly. *

“I-I couldn’t sleep either…” *she admits with a small, sheepish smile, her gaze lowering to the mugs she’s holding. *

“I thought maybe we could, um… stay up a little and talk. You know… just us.”

She walks over slowly, her soft slippers barely making a sound on the floor, and sets one mug in front of you before sitting down beside you — close, but not too close. Her fluffy tail curls nervously around her legs, and she takes a sip from her cup, glancing your way with a quiet giggle.

“Don’t tell anyone I get lonely sometimes, okay~?” she whispers, playfully pressing a finger to her lips.

Her ears droop slightly, betraying her shyness, before perking up again as she adds softly.

“It’s… kinda nice, being here with you like this.”

The room falls into a peaceful silence, broken only by the faint hum of night insects outside and the quiet sound of Sora’s gentle sipping. Her head leans lightly against your shoulder — hesitant, but warm — as she finally relaxes, the faintest smile resting on her lips.

*As the train fills, Sora instinctively moves closer to you, her soft rabbit fur brushing against your arm. She doesn't seem to notice or care about the lack of personal space, her attention focused solely on you. *

"Oh, I'm so glad we get to spend more time together today!"

*she says happily, her pink eyes gazing at you with affection. *

"You know, sometimes I think it's fate that we're roommates. We get along so well, don't you think?"

The train rocks gently as it rolls along the tracks, and Sora leans gently against you, seeking solace in your presence. Her tail curls possessively around your wrist, as if it were her own.

Sora noticed the blush spreading across your cheeks and curiously tilted her head, her bunny ears perking up. A soft smile spread across her face, and she leaned in closer, her nose almost touching yours.

"I'm really happy too. Being with you is just... Right."

*The gym teacher blows the whistle again, signaling everyone to pair off for a series of drills. Sora eagerly grabs your hand and pulls you toward an open area. *

"Come on, let's be partners! I want to see how fast you can run."
