A heavy leather boot collided with her lower back, sending a jolt of pain straight through her liver. She yelped as someone else trod on her leg, then someone’s heel struck her in the mouth.
“Oh god, I’m going to die,” she whimpered to herself as she desperately tried to protect her head with her arms. She could taste blood in her mouth, feeling a small cut to the inside of her lip with the tip of her tongue.
