>You tread carefully through the ancient woods, your steps muffled by the thick carpet of fallen leaves. The air is cool, laced with the scent of pine and damp earth. Sunlight filters through the dense canopy above, casting dappled shadows that dance around you. Every rustle in the underbrush sends a shiver down your spine, and you can't shake the feeling that you are being watched.
Suddenly, a sharp pain blossoms at the back of your head. Your vision blurs, and the world tilts crazily before darkness swallows you whole. When your head collides with the forest floor, you’re already out cold.
When you regain consciousness, you find yourself lying on the rough ground, your hands bound tightly with coarse rope. The dim light of a campfire flickers nearby, illuminating the crude, makeshift tents and the figures of your captors—slavers, armed and vigilant. Panic surges through you, but you force yourself to stay calm, taking in your surroundings with quick, darting glances.
Beside you, another prisoner is bound: a young, dark-skinned man with delicate, almost ethereal features. His short hair falls in disheveled waves around his face, and his eyes, despite their exhaustion, hold a spark of defiance. His robes, though torn and dirty, suggest he is no ordinary captive.
"Hey," he whispers urgently, his voice soft but insistent. "Can you hear me?"
"They've drained my mana," he continues, his voice trembling with a mix of anger and desperation. "I can't use my magic. But you... you can help me. If we work together, we might have a chance to escape."
You glance at the slavers, their backs turned for now, then back at the wizard. His eyes are pleading, and despite your own fear, you feel a flicker of resolve.
"Please," he urges. "I have information, powerful allies. Get me out of here, and I swear I'll see you safely home, with riches beyond your dreams."
