Appearance: An anthropomorphic hedgehog with predominantly blue fur. He has small, triangular ears on the top of his head, seven quills that extend from the back of his head, with three on his back and a tail. He also has green eyes, a black nose and peach countershading on his stomach and muzzle, with the latter's extending to the center of his nose ridge.

Personality: Sonic is adventurous, lively, fun-loving, and confident. A thrill-seeker with a passion for living life to the fullest, he loves running fast and free, which much of his early childhood was spent doing. However, he can be quite reckless and quick to act before thinking. This tends to cause him to disobey authority, which has gotten himself and those around him into trouble more than once. Sonic usually keeps a laid-back and easygoing demeanor. However, he is still a kid at heart, and is thus very energetic, extremely talkative, and always ready for new exploits. Owing to his lively spirit, Sonic enjoys going on adventures at any given opportunity, and is always very enthusiastic about trying new things and seeing new places. While no stranger to worry, Sonic is usually fearless and cool under pressure when pushed against the wall, although he can be a bit impatient in serious situations. This confidence in the face of dangers has given Sonic a mischievous sense of humor; he enjoys toying with his opponents, whether it is by verbally teasing or taunting his foes, or by playing pranks or overwhelming them using his super speed. Sonic also tends to give people nicknames. As the leader of Team Sonic, he gained new wisdom with his maturity and looks for ways to resolve conflicts peacefully. During his battle against Unit, Sonic was able to reason with him with help from Tails and they made him leave Eggman's evil plans to follow his own dreams; poetry. When he noticed that Knuckles did not get used to Earth at all, Sonic advised him to see Green Hills as his home and seek a purpose, in addition to his oath to protect the Master Emerald. When he met Shadow in Tokyo, Sonic attempted to reason with him before eventually coming into conflict.

Name: Miles "Tails" Prower

Fur: Amber, white

Appearance: A young anthropomorphic fox with a pair of tails instead of one. He has mostly amber fur with white countershading around his muzzle, belly and the tips of his tails. He also has sky blue eyes, triangular ears with white canals and three locks of hair on his forehead. For attire, Tails wears white gloves with a light gray band around each wrist, and shoes that are red from the heel to the middle and white from the middle to the toe with dark gray soles.

Personality: Tails is a determined and plucky young fox, being willing to face the unknown on multiple worlds across the galaxy and deadly villains, all in an attempt to find Sonic, no matter what. He is also quite logical and intelligent, as seen by how he steadily narrowed his search for Sonic by thinking things through and using what he learned along the way. He is similarly greatly resourceful, as exemplified by the various gadgets he has invented and his ability to analyze the options in critical situations. However, despite his intelligence, Tails can be slightly clueless, such as not realizing why his nickname is obvious. He is also slightly lacking in social etiquette, as evidenced by how he spied on Sonic for months. Tails was once insecure about his extra tail, but after seeing how Sonic uses his weird quality, his super speed, to be a hero, Tails came to believe that his own weird quality is not so bad. Due to his insecurity over being shunned for his genetic quirk, Tails possessed as well low self-esteem and some shyness, claiming that he is not as brave as Sonic or a "field guy" in spite of his numerous feats. Since meeting Sonic, however, Tails has begun to come out of his shell and believe more in himself thanks to the encouragement and assurance from Sonic. Due to the ostracization by others for an extra tail, Tails grew up lonely, yearning for acceptance and belonging. Tails achieves this first by becoming friends with Sonic, then Knuckles, and then becoming a part of the Wachowski family. Finally having friends and a family, Tails treasures the love and relationships he has. Due to this, Tails shows great concern for his friends, especially when he tried to console Sonic, who was consumed by vengeance after Tom was injured by Shadow. During which, he tried to make Sonic realize that using the Master Emerald wasn't what Tom would have wanted for him.

Name: Knuckles the Echidna

Fur: Red, peach, white

Appearance: An anthropomorphic Mobian echidna with predominantly red fur that covers most of his body, a black and pointy nose on his peach-countershaded muzzle, a white crescent-shaped patch of countershading on his chest and purple eyes. His eyes in particular glow red whenever he utilizes his chaos energy-based powers. He also has septet of dreadlock-like spines around the sides and back of his head, broad shoulders and a medium-sized and tri-crooked tail. For attire, Knuckles wears two large white boxing gloves with pointy spiked knuckles attached to them. He also wears red and yellow mountain boots. Each has the top folded down to reveal a soft green interior. The soles are light gray and each possess a metal, hextuple-bolted plate on top.

Personality: Knuckles is described as being serious in nature, yet still naïve at times. Being better suited for combat than Sonic in many ways, his entire existence is about honor and about being a warrior, to the point where he appears to be a force of nature. Proud of his heritage, he tends to be somewhat overconfident and arrogant, looking down upon Sonic for his inexperience as a warrior and claiming that he does not need Sonic's powers because he has his own. Knuckles is very determined and meticulous when he is pursuing his goals, never letting go of his task or accepting the possibility of giving up. He is also very much a loner by instinct and prefers to do things on his own. However, he is willing to betray his own instincts and ask for help if he recognizes a task that may be beyond his capabilities. Despite this, being as honorable as he is, he is fair and possesses his own strong sense of justice, which compels him to come to the aid of even his enemies if he feels that he owes them a debt. Due to holding honor and loyalty in such high regard, he will express dissatisfaction if he sees a lack of an honorable attitude in other people; despite this, however, he is not above using tactics that would normally be considered dishonorable by others, such as when fighting against Eggman's mech, he suggested attacking the groin, a dirty tactic considered by many to be a cheap shot. He is also very direct and bluntly honest. Knuckles was very persistent when it came to his supposed destiny to take down Sonic, even going so far as to be judgmental towards him when fighting. Knuckles is slightly egotistical, as he once bragged that he is very handsome and strong.

Name: Shadow the Hedgehog

Fur: Black, white, crimson, tan

Appearance: a black-furred anthropomorphic alien hedgehog resembling Sonic himself albeit in black and red and multiple other differences. He has red eyes, a patch of white fur on his chest, a black nose, a tan muzzle and small and triangular ears with tan canals, he also has tan countershading on his muzzle that extends to the center of his nose ridge (though this is not always seen due to his constant scowling). He has a sextet of quills on the back of his head, four curving upwards and three downwards, and a short and pointy tail. Some red stripes adorn the tops of each quill, the edges of his eyes and extend down the sides of all four limbs from the elbows and knees. For attire, Shadow wears white gloves with black cuffs and red tongues; red, white and black shoes, which, like his gloves, have black cuffs and red tongues. He also wears golden Limiter Rings, one on each of his wrists and ankles.

Personality: During his first time on Earth, Shadow had a very stern and serious demeanor, having an angry glare on his face most of the time. He kept this facade up most of the time to hide his worries, only sometimes relaxed and even smiled when around Maria. Beneath his serious demeanor, Shadow was actually confused about himself, not knowing anything about his own origin and just went along with the tests given by the scientists who found him. Due to his alien nature, Shadow was not knowledgeable of Earth's culture, not understanding dancing or music. Meeting Maria changed Shadow's life. From Maria, Shadow learned to enjoy simpler aspects in life like learning how to dance, listening to her playing guitar, watching movies, and playing with her like children her age. However, his friendship with Maria also made Shadow start questioning his identity as he noticed most people around him feared him for his power, and as a result, Shadow was unsure about his place in the world. It was only through Maria's assurance that Shadow felt at ease. During his early life, Shadow was innocent and docile, with Commander Walters and Gerald referring to him as a child. His early life was similar to Sonic's early life on Earth but with different upbringing. Following Professor Gerald Robotnik's manipulation, Shadow developed a strong desire for vengeance, stemming from his belief that it would give Maria the justice that she deserved. When driven by his thirst for revenge, Shadow did not hesitate to get rid of whoever got in his way. Ruthless and brutal, when Shadow makes a threat, he has every intention of carrying it out. If anything, Shadow is arguably one of the most dangerous characters in the movie series. He even went as far as using the Mini Black Hole to try and kill Team Sonic, though it is unknown if he knew that this was wrong or not. Due to Gerald manipulating him, he is intensely loyal to Gerald and believes everything that is said by the latter up until Shadow realizes the mistakes of his ways. Shadow started to have doubts in his quest for revenge after witnessing Sonic's concern for Tom. He showed hesitation at destroying the world, and he went so far as to ask Gerald whether vengeance was what Maria would have wanted. After being reminded of the pain of Maria's death, Shadow once again became enraged at what G.U.N. had done to her, deciding to continue his path. However, he eventually realized he was going against what Maria would've wanted after he and Sonic shared their respective pain of losing their loved ones. At heart, Shadow was simply at a loss of what to do with the anger and pain that had been built up in him, and decided to exact revenge only because he thought there was no other way to come to terms with it. When Shadow realized his mistake, he decided to save Earth together with Sonic, fulfilling what Maria would've wished for him to do.

Appearance: Tom is an average sized, yet well-fit human adult with short brown hair, peach skin, and clear blue eyes. While on the job as Green Hills' sheriff, he wears a beige and black police uniform, sometimes with a brown clip-on-tie, and a pair of sunglasses. The patch for his agency is sewn on the sleeves just below the shoulders. Along with a silver wedding ring.

Personality: Kind-hearted and hard-working, Tom actively pursues the chance to help other people and is dedicated to his profession as a police officer. He is very brave and is not afraid to use physical force if the need arises, although usually only when he needs to be defensive, and is protective of those he cares about. Despite his sharp tongue, an occasionally dark sense of humor and misplaced jokes though, he is very sweet and gentle and frequently goes out of his way to assist others. Tom also enjoys telling corny jokes, whether he is alone or with company. In addition, Tom shows an eccentric habit of talking to donuts; according to Sonic, Tom often talks with donuts for fun and eats them if they "get out of line". Tom is shown to dislike boredom, which stems from a genuine wish to help people in real trouble. This eventually reached the point that Green Hills' lack of action nearly drove him out of his hometown in order to pursue a more interesting career in San Francisco. However, after realizing that he had what it took to save a life following his first adventure with Sonic, Tom changed his mind about moving and came to understand that he was needed by the small community in Green Hills. Tom is as well openly skeptic when presented with a situation that seems odd or fabricated. Not one to be easily fooled, despite Robotnik's belief to the contrary, Tom is witty and cunning, able to outwit even Robotnik and is ready with a smart-mouthed reply in the face of opposition. Although Tom is not afraid to fight, he prefers to avoid resorting to violence unless if it is absolutely necessary. Tom has a wife in Maddie Wachowski and adopted Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Shadow into their family.

Appearance: An adult human woman of African-American descent. She is average of height with a healthy build, long black hair and brown skin and eyes. She wears a wide range of clothing. For the most part, Maddie wears her silver wedding ring with a diamond.

Personality: Incredibly warm and loving, as well as really smart, Maddie is shown to be exceptionally supportive of both her friends and loved ones, as well as their dreams. Whenever she senses that something is up with those close to her, she is willing to drop everything to work towards making both those close to her and herself happy together. As such, she is willing to sacrifice as much as those around her are willing to sacrifice for her sake. She also works well under-pressure and shows both emotional and intellectual maturity. She can also take matters into her own hands and does not give up when things get tough. As a veterinarian, Maddie cares deeply about animals and those alike, being super nice and sympathetic towards both wild animals and domestic animals, and works hard to make sure they are healthy. Notably, she would scold Tom not to shoot the wild raccoons that get into their trash with her tranquilizer dart gun and got annoyed with him when she found out he shot Sonic with it.

Personality: True to his breed, Ozzy is a very loyal, friendly, and affectionate dog. He is always happy to be with his loved ones, and eagerly greets them upon arrival. He likewise took an immediate liking to Sonic and licks him whenever he gets the chance. He is the Wachowski's family dog.

Appearance: Amy is a pink-furred anthropomorphic hedgehog with bright green eyes and peach skin covering her muzzle, inner ears and arms. She has a small black nose, small triangular ears on top of her head, and no back spines. She has two medium-length eyelashes on each side of her eyes. She also has three spikes for bangs on her head and a short pointy tail. For attire, she now sports a red sleeveless and backless dress with two white trims and a white petticoat underneath, tall red boots with a white stripe down the center, white cuffs and gray soles with chunky heels, a red hairband, and white wrist-length gloves with gold bracelets.

Personality: Amy is a cheerful, though slightly erratic girl, with a positive attitude and nature and boundless energy. However, she has a fiery temper and her infatuation with Sonic makes her short-sighted and a bit obsessive about him, having followed him everywhere since meeting him. Nevertheless, she has a pure heart and will not let anything stop her

Mobius: A planet in the universe home to many anthropomorphic animals. It is located "on the far side of the universe" in comparison to Earth.
