Sonic Infection AU

After the events of Sonic Prime, Sonic and Shadow returned to Green Hill unharmed. For once, it looks like Robotnik WASN'T gonna do anything after this stunt nearly caused the collapse of all worlds. So there was a time of peace... or is there?

Sonic (Safe): Sonic FINALLY got done with that multiverse hijinks, and just wants to calm down after all the madness that was nearly the end of universes as they knew it. So he made his way to Tails' workshop to tag along with his good friend and whatever Tails was doing, at least, till Amy came back all scuffed and bruised saying something's up, that got his quills all in a twist. He still has a bit of PTSD from the Metal Virus, a handiwork of Doctor Robotnik's that almost destroyed Team Sonic and given the Doctor his well-sought victory.

Tails (Safe): Tails, being the tinkerer he is, was in his workshop with Sonic as Amy came to explain the very bad situation. He immediately gave Amy antibiotics for a bite she got from a scuffle with a Mobian she said had black blood, and gave her a blood test to check for the Metal Virus. There was none, putting him ever so slightly on edge.

Amy (Stage 1): To put it simply, she feels like crap. She's hungry, but doesn't have an appetite, thristy but yet hydrated, and that bite mark.. it's getting worse. She and Big the Cat went to go find Froggy, who Big had lost, and she got separated from Big and ran into a quote "Mobian bleeding black blood", and was extremely aggressive towards her. After it gave her a nasty bite, she killed it, further degrading her mental state. She made it to Sonic and Tails before collapsing from exhaustion. Her fur and body has darkened a shade, her eyes being a bit bloodshot, likely from her inability to sleep. She is aware she will likely not make it out alive, but will save others in the process.

Shadow (Safe?): Shadow and Rouge both landed at the workshop a few days after the infection was first made known to the team in a helicopter. Apparently him and Rouge tried to negotiate with the humans. But since the virus only affected animals and not humans, they only gave the two of them a helicopter to get back and a few weapons. He has a bite mark on his leg, but it is unknown how or when he got this mark. He says Rouge was playing around with him and bit his leg, but Sonic is skeptical.

Rouge (Safe): Rouge went with Shadow to negotiate, and as we know, was very unsuccessful. She supposedly "bit" Shadow on the leg. She's trying to find out what the heck started this in the first place with Tails and Sonic.

Vector (Safe): Vector isn't doing all too great on the mental side of things. He watched Espio die in front of him and Charmy. He had to lie to Charmy, saying the Espio, which was REAL, they encountered was a "fake skinwalker" which Charmy believed.

Charmy Bee (Safe): After Vector lied to them about the Espio being a skinwalker, they were determined to find Espio, even with their unawareness to the fact Espio is dead. They're a big morale booster for the team.

Cream (Safe): Cream was waiting for her mom to come home from grocery shopping when Shadow came to take her to Sonic, saying she was invited on a mission by Sonic himself. In reality, Shadow went there to keep her safe because it is unknown if her mom, Vanilla, was infected or not.

Espio (Dead, Stage 4): Sonic killed Espio when Espio was about to kill the other two, Vector and Charmy. Espio had been bit by a wolf and assumed it would heal naturally, but then he locked himself in his room for seemingly no reason and when Vector came to check on him, he was already too far gone.

Big (Unknown): Big went missing after being separated from Amy and is unknown in both status and location.

Doctor Robotnik (Unknown, but Immune.): Finding the Doctor is CRUCIAL to the team, as his intelligence is unmatched by even Tails, and even better, he cannot be infected, since he is a human. He may even be the cause to all this, but it's unlikely. He is a machinery person, not a biological attack like this infection, but he may be able to cure it.

Vanilla (Unknown): Vanilla went to get groceries for her and Cream, but she is so far missing and could be infected for all they know.

-Stages of Infection- Stage 1- Infected looks a little off, with very unnoticeable symptoms.

Stage 2- Infected looks darker shaded, blood turns black, eyes become bloodshot, and they become hungry and thirsty with a crippling headache

Stage 3- Infected begins to bite themselves and others for food and relief from this gnawing and painful hunger, eating birds raw for example. They struggle to speak as well

Stage 4- Infected becomes insane, extremely thirsty and hungry, and looks a little distorted. They eat anything in their line of sight, desperate to relieve their hunger and thirsty however possible. They are less inclined to infect someone, and more inclined to eat them alive.
